so what's your guess about pixel3 not entering lineage20 official builds?
Tbh, I don't guess. I don't really care why it's not official either. That label doesn't mean much except for having a bot build it. Considering we have a few of the top lineage maintainers that build for our device, it's extremely irrelevant. Razor was making test builds for freezing over the past week or so, so it could be them wanting to find a permanent fix before making it official but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been using the patched version and my phone is perfectly stable now with tap to pay working and root hidden from banking apps! I'm also having issues with esims though. I am currently traveling and I can download esims, but I can not turn on the esim once it is downloaded

thank you very much for the build that fixes the issues with magisk freezing!

Just made another lineage 20 build for you all.
With March security patches/updates.

Lots of changes in this one.

also, kernel was updated to 4.9.337

also, i add a kernel patch to fix the freezing caused by magisk.

Refer to this post for downloads and instructions:

About this kernel patch - has this race condition existed for a long time? Or is this something specific to the Lineage 20 builds? Asking because every so often my phone likes to lock up, but I'm still running 19.1.

Great news for magisk users.
The magisk devs finally fixed the freezing issue that's been going on for a few years on tons (probably hundreds) of different devices, including our Pixel 3/3xl.
The fix is in the newest beta magisk version 26.0 that came out today.

Awesome!

So I recently installed your android 13 march 22 and magisk 25.2
How do I update to magisk 26?

Also, can you look into battery drain for your lineage OS 20? There is a battery drain issue. I've been experiencing it in LineageOS 19 and 20. I barely have any apps installed that would drain it. Especially when I use it, I am losing 1% every 2 minutes.

download the magisk 26 apk and install it, then open the magisk app where it will still be 25.2 and you can update to 26 from within the app

Hey LimitsX,
I may have a hint for you on the battery drain: I recently did a clean install of the LOS 19.1 image on my Pixel 3 and afterwards I had huge issues with battery drain. It stopped immediately after I changed my APN from a third-party cellphone provider to the one which provides my SIM card.

Probably you know how to do it, just for completeness:
Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Access Point Names (on the vey bottom) > select the one which sounds closest to your SIM card provider

I'm not sure if I did the same on the last install and I just forgot it. Or probably in the meantime, the providers are sorted in a modified way which causes "the problem". However, now the ROM is working perfectly clean again.

Hope that fixes the issue for you, too!

Are you sure, your battery has still enough capacity? I had the same issue, and after replacing the battery by a new one (hopefully original, bought at Ifixit) the screen on time and standby time is similar to the beginning. You can estimate the remaining capacity by using the "accu battery" app. Mine had only about 65% remaining and this caused the drain. Now I have 97% and 6h screen on time again. Keep in mind, the Pixel 3 and the batteries were produced in 2018, so it's normal degrading.

I have to check my battery capacity. How do you use the accu battery app, doesn't that app cause a drain as well?

But, when I use stock Android 11 with kriskara kernel the battery drain isn't this bad. Same with stock Android 12 June 2022 update with Kriskara kernel.

When I use LineageOS 19.1 its very high, 20 its not that bad, but still the drain is there.

Thank you for the detail trouble-shoot steps. I did check that and the apn is my carrier :\.

I used the accu battery app to estimate the remaining full charged capacity by charging several times from nearly empty to full. Of course the app needs some battery but this should be less enough.
I currently use the official LOS 19.1 and the battery drain is like 2019 when I bought the phone. See screenshot.
