@mutahharbashir lineage-18.1-20210713-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bvS is booting fine but has the same 4G/LTE Volte issues. Reflashing led to the issue with storage again not being accessible to the camera app. Booting and running faster than 16.

I was not able to flash Resurrection Remix RR-P-v7.0.2-20200202-ravel-Unofficial. The device check during install throws an error mentioning the device is "charlotte" and not "ravel". How did you manage to install?

Thanks. @mutahharbashir !

The ROM boots fine but I still have the same issue as with all other ones: I can only make and receive calls with 3G. 4G/LTE works fine for data but calls drop immediately on the phone while the call is still ongoing with the operator (ringing on the other side).

Having no 4G is quite an issue and I am not sure I will accept the tradeoff simply to get rid of the pesky Huawei EMUI system.

I remember the some ROMs were working quite well back end of 2018, so I suppose there must be a way to make this work. Any help on getting the VoLTE resolved would be immensely appreciated. :)

Just used resurrection remix rom over emui9.1 (soon i Wil share video)
During call switches to 3g but call don't drop, maybe network coverage of 3g frequency is not good for you.
Call lasted for 5 minutes see attached image

Huawei P20 Pro running Lineage 17.1 smooth
Complete tutorial
I'm one of the lucky few that unlocked the bootloader before the curtain fell on P20 Pro unlocking. However I don't see much reason to move from the latest version of EMUI to LOS17.1...

If there was a version of LOS18.1 available, that would be another story... (edit) But having said that I may just wait to see what happens with HarmonyOS. If anything. (/edit)

Harmony will not come for international users, only for Chinese users.

I've read that there's a way to unlock it by taking the phone apart and using testpoint and BLK, but I can't find the details on it. Can anyone drop a lead?

I was able to unlock the bootloader with dc-unlocker. I bought 3 days license for ~$20 and it worked. I rolled back to the oldest (8-something) version with HiSuite and used software testpoint from dc (no disassembly or soldering). Just google for the tutorial. I spent two days playing with downgrades, testpoint enable and actual unlock (for some reason it did not work at first even in tespoint mode), but somehow I have bootloader unlocked now and can flash twrp, it stays unlocked after upgrading to the newest EMUI (only twrp can not read the partition then).

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    What's not working :
    Instructions :
    • Download the latest build and gapps
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Flash the latest build and gapps

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

NOTE: These builds require EMUI 9 firmware, they will not boot on EMUI 8 devices.

Installed twrp linked here in the thread.
    ADB sideload LOS
    ADB sideload gapps
    Reboot bootloader
    Flash stock recovery
    Boot recovery
    Wipe data/factory reset
    Reboot system

I'm now maintaining official twrp for it too. So latest official build should be pretty much the same as the one linked here before.

According to the guy from Global Unlocking solution, when i Ask him for unlock bootloader for P20 Pro he replied:
Me I tried to create an algorithm to help you all unlock and I was kinda close but sadly I had my p20 pro bricked badly and its back to Huawei. If they change my motherboard instead of flashing firmware , I guess that's the end of me here :/
