Browser is not working on version 17.1

I just factory reset and wiped cache partitions. Everything boots as it should for CMRemix
Unfortunately, the browser does not work. I have reset and tried at least 2 more times. When I click on the internet browser it pops up and then vanishes in a second. Restarting the phone... no change. This is on the Sprint Note 4 N910P

Which Browser? Gello?

Without installing the Gapps, I attempted to use the internet browser that defaults with the Rom upon install completion. Located to the right of the 4 dots (app button) at the bottom of the home screen. It just pops up and vanishes in 1 second
I'm not sure why you didn't install Gapps.. But in any case - You can install this Gello browser from this link

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66988451

Before you install it - Use Root Explorer and go to System Apps and delete the Browser (I'm on Tmo CMRemix so I'm not 100% sure which Browser is in your build) but look for Gello - Then go to Data/data and find the Browser and delete - Reboot and install the Gello Browser from the above link.

That's a good point, why no GAPPs? That's like buying a car with no wheels.

Installed this and I'm having the same problem I was on vanilla CM13 - occasional spontaneous reboots. Although on CMRemiX they seem less frequent.

Tried emotion yesterday and no GPS. Can't have no GPS as I drive for Uber on the side.

There is a later build available through the auto update, maybe that would help?

As I've stated numerous times in the emotion threads, use version 9 with COG5 and everything will work. I use GPS every day using this method. You will have no issues with anything using this combo. I use it as my daily driver.

I'm not interested in going back to OG5, had signal problems with that one. Was losing data while driving and cycling. It was annoying.

GPS didn't work on CM remix either, so i loaded the de-bloated, de-odexed stock OK1 build from this forum. That fixed GPS and it's what I'm running at the moment.

Where to from here, not sure, but my phone is stable and GPS is working so I'll probably leave it alone for a bit while i think about what direction to go. I need this to be my phone for another 18 months or so and I need it to be stable. I prefer CM builds for the most part but i need my phone to be stable most of all. Maybe when some of the chaos currently in my life has calmed down, then I'll be able to run something a bit more experimental.

That's your call and up to you, I know for a fact (through multiple testing code and with working with other developers and through the original Sprint support forums) there is no differences between the basebands that would be causing data or cell connectivity. I STRICTLY use COG5 and travel through out the northern NJ/NYC all day long and never have issues, but again, your device, your call just know this is not the case.

Also check out EMOTION, specifically version 9, this has everything fully working. Version 14 also has everything working as of the latest release which works with the updated PDE1 basebands. Not to hijack the CMRemix forums as I love CMRemix and was my only OS I used until EMotion was released.

-edit- just so you're aware, the latest 14 (second version of emotion 14 released) has everything working and is recommended to be in PE1 baseband (official MM). GPS, texts, data, BT, everything works (and anything else I forgot to mention) also works.

    Other Info

*Alright guys, after seeing a lot of people post random bugs without providing basic information or logs, I decided to make a simple little write up on some basic rules to the thread.

    1. Be courteous to one another & try & be helpful when you can. I can't answer every single question as I'm very busy trying to build the best rom I can make for you guys, so if you know a solution to a problem please answer.

    2. If you are using xposed, DO NOT POST BUGS! I have already seen people posting issues only to find out it was due to xposed or one of it's modules.

    3. When posting bugs, do so with as much information as possible. We can't help you if you don't give the proper information.*
    *****
**** What version or the rom are you on?
    **** Clean or dirty install?
    **** Mainline or Ultimate kernel?
**** Are you using a theme?
**** If you dirty flashed & have problems, did you try a clean install?
    *****
    4. If you are having random reboots how about providing a log? These are invaluable as they provide the information to fix a real issue with the rom or to tell me that it is a user error.

    5. If you are new to aosp or just don't know much about kernels, it is best to stick with the mainline kernel as it is very stable. No need to mess with the settings either as I have the kernel setup to enjoy out of the box.**

Uploading logcat zipped because it exceeds the 500kb limit on gist.github and pastebin, as well as the attachment limit on xda. Hopefully I logged it correctly. This was from v7.8 dirty flashed over 6.7.
