I upgraded from 8.2 to 8.4. I downloaded the ROM, and the gapps from the links below:

Code:
https://jztkft.dl.sourceforge.net/project/crdroid/lava/8.x/crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220413-lava-v8.4.zip

https://deac-ams.dl.sourceforge.net/project/nikgapps/Releases/NikGapps-SL/13-Apr-2022/NikGapps-core-arm64-12.1-20220413-signed.zip

I haven't format anything, I just flashed the ROM via SHRP, and after the process was completed, I flashed also the gapps. After this, I rebooted the device. The root was gone. I manually patched the boot image (inside the magisk app) and flashed it via fastboot. And that's it.

I have installed 8.4 with NikGaps. Device feels sluggish, scrolling is not fluid. I set bigger fonts, but the change was inconsistent. On plus SafetyNet pass without problems.

Then I have tried 7.16 with NikGapps. This version works well, but PlayStore says device not certified. Maybe because of gapps version? Anyway, 7.16 is marked as abandoned, so I stopped testing.

Looks like at the moment there is no good version for everyday use. My best wishes to developers in hope that it will change son.

I can also attest to same problem as popej. Device is very sluggish, and even after I turned off the animations it lags here and there. Scrolling stutters. I have done a fresh installation, previously installed AncientOS. I cleaned everything and installed this ROM and MindGapps 12.1. I have resetted once also. I have not installed anything heavy or background intensive apps till now. Battery life is good. And banking apps work flawlessly, safetynet passes. But yeah, device is sluggish too much

Maybe you have flashed SHRP to the boot partition?
I uploaded the img image via fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
so I did rather well (rather).

But not knowing how to do that I came up with a "brilliant" idea and uploaded the latest shrp from the zip package from within shrp itself.

Aaaaaand now i have a soft bricked phone (I think), because phone is in bootloop - can't get to recovery and fastboot. I'm planning to use the SP Flash Tool, we'll see how that goes.

Hi, I have crDroid 7.16 on a Xiaomi Redmi 9 and I'm struggling with constantly killing one of the apps. I am using AIMP to listen to audiobooks and there is a bookmarking feature - however, when I enable pause in AIMP for (some time), returning to the program restarts the song I am listening to to the beginning. What should I change in the system so that it doesn't kill the application in the background?

At the moment I have crDroid 8.4 and the bookmarks work properly (i.e. my problem is solved), but I have the latest version of AIMP downloaded from the app developer - whether that makes a difference, I don't know.
System settings:
Battery/Battery usage/(AIMP) With optimization

I just upgraded the ROM to the 8.5 version, and it looks like it works well.
I did it too, but how long I must have to wait to boot to new system?
[edit]
For me, working solution was flashing crDroid and NIK gapps (core), (it's not enough just to flash crdroid) but
after flashing gapps, system boots, but Google Messages crashing and Goole Store is offline.

Strange but after entering recovery I did not get the request to decrypt the partition (enter pin). I reformatted the Dalvik-Art and Cache and flashed the new system - now I see the crdroid boot animation for a few minutes.
In the meantime I uploaded the last SHRP because I had TWRP and thought that was the reason.
If I upgrade from 8.4 to 8.5 do I have to format DATA (or System) as well?

Unofficial LineageOS 18, that I have tested, failed to update and I have returned to CRDroid. I have installed CRDroid 8.5 and Nikgapps core. System started OK and behaves normally. SHRP has no acces to data, so it doesn't fully support this rom. Will OS with gapps survive update?

Edit: just have noticed, that wi-fi 5GHz doesn't work. But I don't remember if there were wi-fi problems on other roms or this is a new thing due crDroid.

I have checked 5GHZ WiFi a bit more with WiFiAnalyzer:
On crDroid 8.5 channels 149-177 don't work at all. Channels 36-64 and 100-144 sometimes shows activity for a moment, but then stop working.
On LineageOS 18 channels 149-177 don't work, but 36-64 and 100-144 seems to be OK.
On MIUI 12.5.5 EEA all works.

Is anything else not working on crdroid latest rom. I am a newbie and haven't rooted or unlocked the boot loader of a phone. So I am scared if I do anything wrong. I searched on the internet and found that this rom works best on redmi 9 prime. I have a few questions..
Could you please refer me to some good guides and what recovery should I use?
I found this video but it is for crdroid 6.1. Are the instructions still the same?
As some people on this forum are saying that the phone's performance is sluggish with this rom, is it still there or the performance is now fine?
Thanks

@tiga05, yes, I've managed to solve it, but I don't really know what consequences of my deeds can be, so be careful if you want to follow what's below.

Basically, you probably are right about some buggy ROM<->google relationship. To deal with this spam log, you have to disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService . You can do it via ADB:

    Code:
    # pm disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService

I'm not sure what this service is used for (it's just a part of google GMS, i.e. google play services), but it looks like everything works well so far.

I've also been playing with google play services optimization for battery utilization and RAM usage. Basically I disabled these activities/services, which reduced RAM from 450M to around 140M, which is really nice.

Followed the installation instruction, everything has been smooth so far. Played some game and the performance is great. Prop to the maintainer for writing such detail instruction rather than having me search though everything on my own. Keep it up!

    How is the stability?

You are right, this is similar problem. When I reboot phone in airplane mode, then I get all channels working. If I enable GSM and restart WiFi, then channels 149 - 173 stop working. I can see in logcat, that country is set to PL, but regulatory info looks the same (or I don't know what to look for).
