Works fine, but one problem:

Wifi networks with WPA3 (and mixed with WPA2) don't work. I know, there is an issue with WPA3 and tge Note 9. But in MIUI 12.5 firmware I can manualy add a WLAN-network and set security to WPA2 - then the device connect s to the network and set the security parameter hard to WPA2.
In crDroid (and Pixel too) the Wifi-Manager always set the security to WPA2/WPA3-mixed mode automaticaly, even I choose only WPA2 in manualy add.

Is there an aviability to insert the same workflow like in the original firmware? Or is anywhere an opportunity to hard change the security layer to WPA2 for a saved connection? I couldn't find any magisk-modules or apps in f-droid or appstore.

Thx a lot for your great work!

Hi all,

first of all, thank you to Evan_Ferrao for this great work!

I installed crDroid 7.13 and try now to install GApps.
CrDroid is working properly, MTG from link of the first post also runs properly, but GApps are not installed.
If I reboot to recovery and try to install them again, I get the message that not enough space is available.

I tried it then with TWRP-3.4.2 but I am getting the same message.
Even with OpenGapps (down to pico) I am getting the message about "insufficent storage space available".
Logfile is attached if this helps.

I tried no to install first CrDroid first, then reboot to system, reboot to recovery, then install GApps.
Also tried to install Cr an GApps in a zip queue.
Also tried it with SHRP and TWRP.

I want to increase the system partition size, but under advanced wipe there is no system partition to select.

Does anybody have a hint for me?

Thanks and regards,
huntworker

Redmi Note 9
Hi all,

I was running PPUI 3.10 on my Redmi Note 9 3GB / 64GB until it entered a bootloop. I managed to access EDL mode by using the bypass scripts from step 12 of this guide by @vagelis199. Next, using SPFtool, I flashed MMUI, seccfg (to restore bootloader unlock) then I flashed recovery, vbmeta, PPUI ROM, and userdata partition which allowed me to decrypt and backup my data.

I again flashed MMUI (merlin_global_images_V12.0.3.0.QJOMIXM_20200804.0000.00_10.0_global) and then followed the steps to install crdroid, however then the phone started freezing on deep sleep (i.e. when you turn off the screen). This I managed to solve by flashing MIUI firmware upgrade (fw_merlin_miui_MERLINGlobal_V12.5.1.0.RJOMIXM_84b071b256_11.0.zip from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-0-rjomixm-redmi-note-9-redmi-10x-4g.4321093/)

So far I've found this ROM much more performant than PPUI which I'm very happy about. Let's see how it holds up!

Thanks a mil @Evan_Ferrao and crdroid team!

There's somehing weird with the ImeiBackup file, I downloaded it and my antivirus detected a setup.exe as some kind of trojan: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml. Anybody faced the same issue?

Also I installed the rom and now I'm stuck in a boot loop. Needless to say I followed all the steps from the instructions.

I've installed crdroid latest version on top of miui latest version.
Everything works well except for the fact that volte and vowifi don't work.
I've turned them on and my carrier does support both however when I call with mobile data on,
it turns off meaning volte doesn't work.
I tried *#*#4636#*#* and went into ims and it said that IMS is not registered.

Help

I've tried restarting, reinserting the sim, I flashed latest firmware but still volte and vowifi are not working.

To get VoLTE working, I downgraded to MIUI 12.5.2 using Mi Flash Tool (the firmware upgrade/downgrade didn't work for me). I clean flashed crDroid again and voila! (Note that VoWi-fi isn't available for me because I am not connected to a Wi-Fi network.)

I got VoLTE working by downgrading to MIUI12.5.2 taking hints from other posts in this thread. The firmware upgrade/downgrade doesn't seem to work with me. Also, a major downside now is the issue with the disappearing call screen (the phone only rings and doesn't show the answer/reject popup/screen). I flashed the latest Gapps for Android 12 but that doesn't seem to solve it at all.

OTA update from 8.7 to 8.9 didn't work for me either. In my case, after the download was complete, the device rebooted into recovery mode. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to flash anything, so I did a standard system reboot from there. Thankfully, I didn't lose anything but the crDroid version wasn't updated (it was still 8.7).

Seeing the result, I went for a clean flash. I tried to do it first without updating the firmware and got my device into a boot loop (it was the fw_merlin_miui_MERLINGlobal_V12.5.1.0.RJOMIXM_84b071b256_11.0.zip archive).

So, I went to recovery mode again and flashed the following firmware archive:

    Filename: fw_merlin_miui_MERLINGlobal_V13.0.1.0.SJOMIXM_23a9625209_12.0.zip SHA256: 07048DCA1D1550DB3B6FA595A3A11A1C953C7F042DE08459BA66CEEE0B8324C0

Then I flashed the ROM file and GAPPS (MindTheGapps-12.1.0-arm64-20220605_112439.zip), "advanced wiped" darvik, data and cache, and successfully rebooted into crDroid 8.9 with GAPPS.

@Evan_Ferrao Could it be that the OTA update needed a firmware update in my case? Thank you for maintaining this device, btw.

See on sourceforge or crdroid website there are android 12 builds. I don't know how stable they are tho, but be sure to install latest miui firmware before attempting any flash to avoid bootloop
Thanks I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's very stable.

Thanks for your reply, what about battery life? any bugs while using some apps?
Battery excellent, bugs volte but flashing 12.5.1 firmware resolved it and in call volume is a bit low for my taste.
