lol man !!! I had the same thing
kept using OOS11 because 12 is thrash, until that night when I rebooted the phone and found OOS12 is already installed...lost root lost apps lost RiCE lost my life xDD then I put my phone on sale haha, I really got angry. now I'm here looking for a new thing to flash, since I didn't visit XDA for a while I was ready to flash anything just to get rid of this OOS12
and voila derpfest is here *-*

Hi, my previously working dash charging isn't working since i installed derp, it slowly shows dash charging and then reverts to "slow charging", and it's actually slow. Also, seems to be heating very much during charge. Any ideas? Thanks

About charging speed idk , about heating i guess it's because most of a12 roms use the same cpu frequency settings , idk why , and those are always really high even when cpu isn't in load and doesn't let cpu to go down , it also can affect battery life in faster draining.

ok thanks, is it possible that the firmware isn't properly supporting dash? my other oneplus phone is currently charging from that same port at full speed, and it's running crdroid 12.

How's the features? Does it have rounded corners UI overlay for the display (Corners of the display are smooth like on OOS)?
I've heard great stuff about derpfest, but I'm on crdroid 7 atm. Not sure if I should switch

It will, do NOT do it, I bricked it the first time when trying to flash some custom ROM.
Tried to relock the bootloader using command and it just said "device corrupted".

It will be only possible to restore using Windows machine and the right MSM image and Qualcomm drivers, took me like 7h to find the right set.

I clean flashed was on 11 on both slots and everything was going fine but when I reboot sometimes I get crash dump screen. When I boot again it boots up fine. What could cause this?
Same here.
Noticed having and using Netflix app increase the chance of this.
I just reboot daily and it's mostly good.
Probably some kernel shortcoming.

@sixe$ I've noticed that dash is most often not activating because of the temperature of the device. The phone is constantly running hot, and the battery drains at least twice as fast as on OOS. Any kernel variation that can fix this?

Go to app info (eg long press app icon in the launcher, tap info icon or get there through android settings), go to Permissions and there's a permission called "Sensors".

This permission is given to apps for free (no prompt) and includes stuff like accelerometer, gyroscope, rotational vector sensor etc, pertaining to devices motion, position and environment (temp, elevation, humidity etc)

User is not prompted to allow this permission because it's "safe" data-wise, ie it's not a runtime permission.

It's a shame though - some apps use these permissions to do stuff that results in battery drain.

It's also perfectly feasible to use this information to implement a solution that, with help of machine learning and your approximate location, would aid in guessing your more exact location, means of transportation, current physical activity, daily routine, in some cases workplace etc

---

Circling back to battery; disabling Sensors permission for Facebook and Instagram resulted in 20-30% longer battery life.

In general, if you go to Settings -> Battery you'll see which apps are the worst drainers, look closely at "in the background" statistic.

Inspect the permissions, confront with what given app does and you should have some idea what to disable to prolong the battery life.

EDIT:
For disclaiming purposes - I'm not in any way claiming or suggesting the apps I mentioned implement such tracking solution, just that I got longer battery life after disabling the Sensors for them :)

That remark was just to illustrate that creating a hypothetical malicious app that does such tracking is feasible to implement and conceal eg as flashlight or some other unassuming app - it's always a good idea to review the permissions and disable suspicious ones.

I'm on EvoX now and setting you mentioned isn't there. Gonna check on next Derp build. Thanks for the info tho, it's gonna be useful!

Settings -> Apps -> See all -> search for app (upper right corner, looking glass icon) -> tap the relevant app -> Permissions

Then you should be able to manage permissions (including Sensors) for that particular app

Yes I know, i just don't have "sensors" permission in any app I tried. I guess it's not available on EvoX for now. Gonna try on Derp when new build arrives, hopefully tonight.
