Just Updated to Lineage OS 16.0

Thank you for your hard work! I got the notification of new updates. to my surprise I couldn't update it like usual. It Notified me that I would need ADB to update because it wasn't the same build. So i downloaded the 16.0 nightly and the respective Gapps. connected my phone to my PC (which had adb and fastboot setup already) . I made sure I had developer options enabled and android debugging . Didn't see OEM UNLOCK so I assumed it was already set. i also enabled root access for apps and adb (just in case).

i loaded up cmd and directed to the necessary folder
I connected my phone (in charging mode) to my pc
verified adb was working by typing adb devices (got notification on phone and allowed it)

using adb i rebooted to bootloader {adb reboot bootloader}

in boot loader i booted TWRP {fastboot boot c:\root\rom\twrp.img

in TWRP i Wiped cache and delvik and system

then went to advance and sideload (did NOT click wipe cache and delvik)

using sideload i flashed to Lineage OS 16.0 rom {adb sideload c:\root\rom\lineageos16.zip}

after that also in sideload i typed adb reboot bootloader

in bootloader i booted TWRP again

in TWRP went to advance and sideload (did NOT click Wipe Cache and delvik)

using sideload i flashed Gapps {adb sideload c:\root\rom\gapps9.064.zip}

after it was completed in TWRP i went to main menu - reboot - system.
its working so far.

Hopefully people will find my blabbering useful when upgrading to 9.0 !

Once again Thank you for your hard work!

We've had a bit more time on this rom, and have updated the firmware files as suggested (not with dd). Still having some issues though.

What is your-- Single sim XA2 ultra
LineageOS version: lineage-15.1-20190224-nightly-discovery-signed.zip
LineageOS Download url: download lineageos org/discovery
Gapps version: Not installed at all. We just wanted a pretty dumbphone with a browser.

Did you--
wipe: system / data / cache, A and B, twice.
restore with titanium backup:
reboot after having the issue: yeah

Are you using--
a task killer: nope
a non-stock kernel: nope
other modifications: purple case

Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed:
Before FW update: Every other rom flash failed to bring up radios. Often the screen woke during phone calls and pressed random buttons, including setting and removing alarms, muting calls, and dialing other contacts during a call.
After FW update: One rom slot not booting (spins on lineageos logo for >2 hours) (flashed to both slots twice, switched with both twrp reboot slot selection and with fastboot set active). Still some screen presses getting through during calls causing DTMF tones and alarms to be changed. Reduced battery life.

1. Download latest firmware with XperiFirm.
NOTE: When using mono XperiFirm will fail to unpack the firmware, you can do it manually using following commands:

2. Go to the directory where the firmware got downloaded to and remove following files:
- kernel_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- kernel_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- persist_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- persist_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- system_other_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- system_other_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- system_other_X-FLASH-ALL-9B8D_0x00.hash
- system_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- system_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- system_X-FLASH-ALL-9B8D_0x00.hash
- userdata_X-FLASH-CUST-18AE.sin
- vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-9B8D_0x00.hash
3. Turn off your phone, hold vol dn and plug in the USB cable, the screen should be off and green LED lit.
4. Run Newflasher, it'll flash entire FW to your current slot then unplug the USB cable and power on your phone.
5. Turn off your phone, hold vol up and plug in the USB cable, the screen should be off and blue LED lit.
6. Enter this command: `fastboot getvar current-slot`, it should return something like this:
current-slot: _b
Finished. Total time: 0.001s
7. Now switch to the opposite slot by entering command: `fastboot set_active a` if the current slot is `_b` or `fastboot set_active b` if its `_a`, you should see this:
Setting current slot to 'a'...
OKAY [ 0.012s]
Finished. Total time: 0.014s
or
Setting current slot to 'b'...
OKAY [ 0.012s]
Finished. Total time: 0.014s
8. Unplug usb cable and repeat steps: 3, 4
9. Profit?
