[ROM][OFFICIAL] dotOS v5.x for Pixel 3a[sargo][OTA]

Search This thread
Can you please elaborate by fake rounded corners, a screenshot would be appreciated
Can't screenshot because it's a software thing and in screenshots it doesn't show, by fake I mean that the screen isn't rounded by itself but it is painted on the glass and there's a overlay giving the curve. Maybe the issue was only on mine if this problem never happened to other people

A few questions: does this ROM give the Pixel 3a the ability to use face unlock (and if so, it's built-in right?)?
Also, will I be able to use apps like banking apps, Netflix, Google Pay,... or are those not working just like when your device is rooted?
Last question, this ROM isn't rooted right?

EDIT: found out this ROM is not rooted by default and it does pass the safety net test so all apps like banking apps, Netflix,... should be working fine. I believe this ROM won't give the Pixel 3a face unlock because the 3a doesn't have face unlock on stock ROM but I'm not 100% sure about this custom ROM.

Hi,
Step 6 should be edited with: Tap Factory Reset, then Format data / factory reset.
Also step 7 should be edited with:
On the device, select “Apply Update”, then “Apply from ADB” to begin sideload.

This for the sake of clarification for beginners.

On the host machine, sideload the package using: adb sideload filename.zip.

Been using this for two days and it's working great 👌, thanks!

One question I have is, I don't see the keyboard icon at the bottom right that allows for switching between keyboards. It's not in the notification panel either (and I have multiple keyboards installed). Is there a setting that needs to be turned on to show it? I haven't been able to find it.

Rom have face unlock implementation, but it's software based rather than hardware, but it still works great and I had no issues whatsoever.

Not sure about that, I only use gboard, but you can change keyboards in settings under language and input

I've been using this custom ROM daily for over a week now and there are still a lot of bugs that need to be solved. Where can I report them? (don't know if they are device-specific or bugs in dotOS itself)

Hey it's been a white since I've done this.
Does Step 6 erase everything including the internal /sdcard (or /storage/emulated/0 ) folders?
In other words, must we back up all of the internal storage before clean flashing?

1. When disabling the MonetWannabe, the quick settings in the notification panel don't have a background or the background color is the same as the background color of the notification drawer. This is kinda ugly and annoys me a lot.
This issue is fixed by disabling the "Tiles Accent V2" toggle in the customization app.
2. Give us the option to remove / disable / hide the default music player (Retro Music).
3. When pressing the power button to put the device in standby, when having the always on display enabled, the screen flashes very shortly after becoming black. So the screen turns off, goes back on for a split second and then goes back off and shows the AOD.
4. Notifications are still transparent on the lock screen when having the "Disable Transparant Notifications" option enabled.
5. Notifications are transparent in the notification panel meaning they all blend together and aren't separated from the background. The notifications' background is white when using light theme and black when using dark theming so they are the same color as the background color.
6. Settings service crashes each time after reboot.
7. Boot animation went back to the default android boot animation, dotOS animation is removed somehow.

How do we enable common features such as:
- Long-press back button to kill
- Double tap recents button to go to previous app
- Long-press recents button to turn on multi-window
- Customize active-edge to open any app/intent

Most of them are dotOS issue. Hopefully they fix it in next release. Thanks for reporting it

    Is the Active-Edge squeeze supported?
I just installed the custom ROM and can confirm that Active-Edge works. You can even customize what it does when you squeeze the phone like take a screenshot, open the camera, turn on the torch,...
