would you reccomend a guide to install Magisk after installing LineageOS 18.1?

I tried to follow the instructions provided here: https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#magisk-in-recovery but the process fails when I try to flash the patched recovery with a "no such file or directory" error.
I think it's not that difficult, when you boot Rom and set up everything just reboot to Lineage recovery and apply update with adb and run command, you have instructions on wiki page.

@LuK1337 - in general the build is stable, one issue noticed is that camera freezes during video call when using Whatsapp and signal. Initially I thought it to be permission issue both app set to "ask everytime for camera and microphone" but after changing the setting to "only while using the app" still I am facing same issue.

Anyone else facing the same issue?

Workaround: dismiss the PIP video popup and click on the call in progress notification popup for the video to start again during video calls. (works for whatsapp, does not work for signal)

What is your--
LineageOS version: 18.1-20210110 (have seen this issue on 18.0 as well)
LineageOS Download url: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145712993
Gapps version: https://sourceforge.net/projects/op...ps-arm64-11.0-pico-20210110-TEST.zip/download

Did you--
wipe: Yes
restore with titanium backup: No
reboot after having the issue: Yes

Are you using--
a task killer: No
a non-stock kernel: No
other modifications: No

Attached is the logcat.
I'm experiencing the same issue since I updated from 17.1 to 18.1.

In both WhatsApp and Signal during a video call my camera video freezes after a couple of minutes. I can see it on my end as only a still image is being displayed and the receiving end sees the same. Audio/mic keeps working. It varies from 5 to 30 minutes. The work-around is simply stop and start the camera again.

@zeus_10 did you find a solution for this?
Has anyone else experienced the same?

I'm running LineageOS 18.1 with MicroG.

Installed the ROM and initially Magisk to be able to use Titanium and OAndBackupX to restore my apps. Now I uninstalled Magisk because my banking app and company portal won't work at all with Magisk (tried all hiding options, but they won't work).

With Magisk uninstalled, everything works except Google Pay. Checked with SafetyNet Test from play store and CTS profile match fails.

Tried already to re-install Lineage, but same result.

Can I fix that somehow without being rooted?

yes, i have had the same issue in WhatsApp. The video would just hang on a static frame at some point, and switching back and forth between back camera and selfie camera would fix it until it hangs again

If you want to go back to OOS for me the fastest method is to use stock fastboot roms by Mauronofrio. If you need more help just ask.Another tip:if you are on Lineage then reboot to lineage recovery, wipe everything then from recovery reboot to fastboot, process is really straight forward

easiest way to rollback:
- boot into twrp recovery ( lineageos recovery won't work )
- flash full ota zip of oxygenos
- reboot into recovery (will be stock oneplus recovery) and wipe internal storage
- reboot, done

did it myself. Can't use the phone with all these bugs

"all these bugs" is basically broken video calls in certain apps.
The ROM is perfectly stable for me.

maneira mais fácil de reverter:
- inicialize na recuperação twrp (a recuperação do lineageos não funcionará)
- flash full ota zip of oxygenos
- reinicializar na recuperação (será a recuperação oneplus de estoque) e limpar o armazenamento interno
- reinicializar, pronto

eu mesmo fiz. Não consigo usar o telefone com todos esses bugs

Even if I downgrade from LineageOs Android 11 to Oxygen 10, will this method work?
If yes, could it be the latest Stock OxygenOS ROM?

broken video calls
broken pocket mode
broken aptx codecs
few more but probably not LOS related, e.g. power menu payment cards disappearing randomly, glitches with notification shade pulling down on its own when minimizing apps with gestures, etc

Mesmo fazendo o downgrade do LineageOs Android 11 para o Oxygen 10, esse método funcionará?
Em caso afirmativo, poderia ser o último Stock OxygenOS ROM?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :
    Downloads :
    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Guys I was checking out the gerrit and found something to be excited about.

If I interpret it right, we should be included in the initial batch of devices being promoted to 19.1 🥳 and Luk1337 is probably staying our Maintainer.

Dear Forum, i plan to switch my OP6 back to LOS as well.
Back, because once i bought it some years ago, i was running LOS on it, but then switched to OOS, due to some struggles (and it was the first phone since the good old Motorola Milestone, where CyanogenOS gave me Froyo for the first time :D ).
I don't need root or anything extraordinary, just LOS and Google apps. my Question: will the build in updater work and preser Gapps during updates? In the past due to A/B Layout, i always had to go to recovery, flash update and gapps, reboot into Recovery, flash gapps again, to no loose them.
And on my OP3 the builtin Updater is not working, i always have to flash manually through TWRP ;(
    Thanks in advance!
GAPPS are preserved. If you dont need anything fancy, then also just use LineageOS recovery. This will most probably also fix your update isues on OP3.
Also had a OP3 before and LOS recovery worked flawless.

    Slightly "offtopic":
I was kind of afraid that our OP6 support was dropped, because nothing happened on the LineageOS Gerrit regarding our device. But Lukasz jsut pushed a whole lot of commits. So Android 12 seems inbound! (Whenever LOS team decides to release)

I always update via OTA. I always have to patch a new boot.img with Magisk and install via fastboot, but Gapps are kept.
No need for fastboot. Go into the Magisk app before installing the OTA, click on Uninstall Magisk, then Restore Images. Now install the OTA via the built in updater. Once the OTA update is installed, do not reboot. Go back into the Magisk app. Click on Install Magisk, select Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA), and only then reboot.

Full instructions can be found here: https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/ota.html
