Yes to all of these. Staying on OOS10 vendor will give you non working WiFi and Dash charging on LOS 18.1Hi,
I upgraded from LOS 17.1 to 18.1 by following the official instructions here https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/enchilada/upgrade
It's working really well.
But .. I'm wondering ... I'm still on the lastest Vendor security patch from Oxygen 10 (here : https://www.oneplus.com/fr/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156173727)
Do I need do upgrade it too with the following one ? https://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amaz...1_OTA_0610_all_2109171645_3d7e69fe95cea09.zip
And if so with this method ? https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/enchilada/fw_update
Thanks for any answer/tips !
Regards,
Yes, MindTheGapps works well.Hello,
I am planning to migrate to LOS 18.1 from OOS 11.1.1.1.
I know I will loose video recording in 4K@60fps, but I will use 1080p@60fps instead.
It seems good to use MindTheGapps, instead of OpenGapps.
BTW I read carefully instructions on first page.
Do I need to backup EFS partitions (that contain EMEI information), and if yes box can I do this step from LOS recovery?
Yes to all of these. Staying on OOS10 vendor will give you non working WiFi and Dash charging on LOS 18.1
No complains on running OOS11.1.1.1 vendor firmware on LOS 18.1Hmmm that's strange WIFI and Dash are working.
Also, except that I was not sure if i have to do it, I was little bit "afraid" to update the firmware by reading this OnePlus forum thread : https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...the-oneplus-6-and-oneplus-6t.1502539/page-225 There's a lot of complains about the latest firmware.
So I'll give it a try.No complains on running OOS11.1.1.1 vendor firmware on LOS 18.1
Oh I forgot ... As I already upgrade to LOS 18.1 can I do the firmware upgrade after ?So I'll give it a try.
Is it this one you're running ? https://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amaz...1_OTA_0610_all_2109171645_3d7e69fe95cea09.zip
I didn't find more recent.
Yes, that's the one I'm running. And yes, you can upgrade the firmware after.Oh I forgot ... As I already upgrade to LOS 18.1 can I do the firmware upgrade after ?
Thanks a lot for your answers and help !Yes, that's the one I'm running. And yes, you can upgrade the firmware after.
Thank you for your tips and advices.Yes, MindTheGapps works well.
As for the EFS partitions - I never backed those up and everything is fine. I don't think you can back these up via LOS recovery. You should be fine either way, as essentially by flashing LOS you override the system partition, and LOS recovery overrides the boot partition.
Yeah, I use Magisk Hide for banking apps, works fineThank you for your tips and advices.
Today I migrated my OP6 from OOS 11.1.1.1 to LOS 18.1 and everyhting seems OK, except Google Pay.
I installed MindTheGapps.
I manually configure apps, and my credit card won't finished setup because Google Pay cannot be used on custom rom or rooted device. I didn't rooted my OP6.
Do I need to use magisk to hide things to certify my device, or is there another process?
Hmm, have same problem with flashing from oos 11. Everything is working, but I don't know of limitation with 4k@60fps. I checked it in gcam and have only 4k@30 available.Hello,

There's no known workaround for 4k 60p at this point in timeHmm, have same problem with flashing from oos 11. Everything is working, but I don't know of limitation with 4k@60fps. I checked it in gcam and have only 4k@30 available.
It's where a way to fix this afterwards? Maybe flashing only Oos 11 vendors?
If my information are correct. OnePlus provides partially vendors for camera, and especially part for video record 4K@60fps.Hmm, have same problem with flashing from oos 11. Everything is working, but I don't know of limitation with 4k@60fps. I checked it in gcam and have only 4k@30 available.

Are you on a A10 fw basis, or A11?I'm currently on 18.1-20211102-nightly, and Dash is not working.
It was previously working, but it was a really old build. On that old build, there was an old proprietary Bluetooth blob that broke the NFC BT quick connect.
On the 18.1-20211102-nightly build (just after the release of OOS), that bug was fixed, but Dash wasn't working anymore.
I'm currently upgrading to 18.1-20211116.
EDIT: Just finished upgrading, I confirm Dash is NOT being negotiated with the Charger.

GAPPS are preserved. If you dont need anything fancy, then also just use LineageOS recovery. This will most probably also fix your update isues on OP3.Dear Forum, i plan to switch my OP6 back to LOS as well.
Back, because once i bought it some years ago, i was running LOS on it, but then switched to OOS, due to some struggles (and it was the first phone since the good old Motorola Milestone, where CyanogenOS gave me Froyo for the first time ).
I don't need root or anything extraordinary, just LOS and Google apps. my Question: will the build in updater work and preser Gapps during updates? In the past due to A/B Layout, i always had to go to recovery, flash update and gapps, reboot into Recovery, flash gapps again, to no loose them.
And on my OP3 the builtin Updater is not working, i always have to flash manually through TWRP ;(
Thanks in advance!
No need for fastboot. Go into the Magisk app before installing the OTA, click on Uninstall Magisk, then Restore Images. Now install the OTA via the built in updater. Once the OTA update is installed, do not reboot. Go back into the Magisk app. Click on Install Magisk, select Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA), and only then reboot.I always update via OTA. I always have to patch a new boot.img with Magisk and install via fastboot, but Gapps are kept.
