Which .zip did you use, did it fix safetynet and do you need to do the installation every time, when you update to a new build?

Edit: I didn't extracted a fingerprint on OxygenOS. Could I still do it on LineageOS or is there a need, if I just use the PowerShell script?
I used this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-fajita-12-lineageos-19.4437349/page-7#post-86857977

But u have to execute also this "adb enable-verity" at the end. Without this u will get a bootloop after updating nightlies.

Thanks for your reply :)

Did you get your own fingerprint? The only other instruction I found was this one and there he said, you have to get you own fingerprint while being on OOS.

Thanks mate :) I looked also on the file for the 6T and used the same scheme for your file (just line 2 was a bit different). Result:
Screenshot_20220528-174438_SafetyNet Test~2.png
Screenshot_20220528-180549_LineageOS-Einstellungen.png

Edit: But now the platform security level is shown as "a few months old" and I guess the ih8sn version, which was recommended in the 6T Thread was ih8sn for v7a. If somebody also wants to use it, you probably should use the "correct" version of it.

We are overriding the security patch level to Nov 2021(the last official OOS security patch) using ih8sn to pass SafetyNet.
You can ignore it, under the hood it's running may security patch.

Thanks for clarification. I like to "polish" things up as good as I can and Safetynet was the one missing thing for me on LineageOS. Widevine can't be tricked (as I know) and video stabilisation isn't good (compared to OxygenOS) on every other Custom ROM too. So I think my experience is as good as it gets on a custom ROM. With the superior transparency of LineageOS and the great security update support I now feel like I'm done with my phone diggings, at least until a new LineageOS version comes out😂

And btw.: I couldn't hold myself and just overwrote the arm-v7a version of ih8sn with the aarch64 version, just for the state of mind :D

As I stated earlier in this thread ih8sn was completely unknown to me until some days ago. I read in a bit on the topic. My conclusion for the moment is: if my phone is rooted with Magisk I need to go for modules like USNF, while ih8sn is basically meant for unrooted phones that need to pass SafetyNet etc. In other words: there's not much use in messing with ih8sn while my phone is rooted through Magisk. Correct assumption, or did I lose it on the way?

That's how I understood it too. In my case I didn't needed root access, but wanted all apps in the Play Store to be available.

I have Hotspot Issues since long, even with the last lineageos. Every few hours I have to restart the phone to get it working again. weird.

I installed the latest nightly.

I got a fingerprint failure very soon after installing it. I have rebooted, and it is ok for now. We'll see.

But I have another big bug : i have no notification icons in the notification bar. I can see my notification on the lockscreen (privately), but once unlocked, the notification bar is empty (clock, and status is there) I'm dumb, it was a silent channel.

While I'm talking about the status bar, once pulled down, the battery indication doesn't stay circle, it shows a rectangle battery indicator, and cutting the SOT text.

Missing notification icons

I can partly copy that. I do not use hotspot very often, but last week my hotspot completely crashed, too, and I had to reboot the phone in order to get it to work again. I could not even open hotspot settings anymore.

Does anyone else always get the location privacy indicator whenever they unlock their phone on the new build, even if the location is turned off?
The icon in the upper right corner I'm referring to:

View attachment 5623251
New note on the location indicator "issue": installed latest build (20220531) yesterday, after that I "feel" that the behaviour changed slightly:
a) upon unlock / screen On notification still is showing every time, but I think that it is showing less often in between. Not really sure, though
b) upon unlock / screen on the notification now sometimes (not always) says that location is used by both phone services AND bluetooth, see new screenshot. With earlier builds I never saw the Bluetooth line;

Screenshot_20220601-102553_Smart Launcher.png

Just a wild guess: I start wondering if this is really an issue. Could it be that we always had this behaviour but only recently TRUST started to show the indicator?
Apologies if this is nonsense :giggle:

having a weird padding (?) issue when first booting. It shows this screen everytime the phone boots up. Looks like settings menu is pulled down by default without showing the settings though. its weird. i dont know what causes this and how to get rid off it.

Everything is functional though, you can just swipe and unlock etc. Its just very irritating to look at this after booting.

Kind regards

Today I had a random reboot for the first time ever. No idea what triggered it. I tried to grab the logs as descrived in the first post, but /sys/fs/pstore is void. Anything I can do?

Just to confirm - after having sideloaded Magisk last week, after this week's OTA Magisk and root are still kept, no need to flash to inactive slot or anything.
Still I do not understand why I couldn't re-install it via patched boot.img last week after OTA. The ways of Magisk are mysterious.

Pocket mode is broken, that's why gestures could active in your pocket. This will be fixed in the next build: https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_sdm845-common/+/332081/
Will it or you're just assuming things...?

I updated to the 06-21-22 update and lost magisk and root. I had a patched boot.img I was under the impression that wouldn't be touched when doing OTA updates?
As clarified just a few posts earlier this appears to not be the case depending on how you installed Magisk.

Around the time 24.2 came out I had to completely wipe my phone and reinstall LOS. I did so multiple times in different ways for different reasons at that point. Also the way I installed Magisk.
It appears that the sideload way was the one that remained in the end. After this I noticed that I no longer had to manually install Magisk to the inactive slot between update and reboot. I incorrectly assumed that the following changelog note was the reason:
[App] Major app upgrade flow improvements

Yeah, I used the recommended way by having the app patch boot.img, followed by flashing it.
    The problem is discussed here:
In short, when installed via the recommended method, Magisk will not survive OTAs. This appears to be by design by the developer, see this comment:

The old, unsupported approach (sideloading the .zip) still installs the retention script. That's also how I installed, and retention during OTAs is also still working for me, but that seems not officially supported anymore.

Does somebody know, why todays update got revoked?
I have installed it and not facing any issues

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :
    Downloads :
    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Just did a dirty flash from LOS 18.1 and everything works fine.

I had to reinstall some Google apps (YouTube, Gmail, Keep, GCam, Photos), as they stopped working after the upgrade (maybe because I accidentally clicked No on the Signature verification failed screen while flashing Gapps and didn't notice, then the OS didn't boot. whoops. So I went back into the recovery and flashed Gapps again. Sure enough, the install went through. So be careful and make sure to click the correct button, lol)

Everything else seems to work perfectly!

Thanks again LuK for your work!

In case anyone with Gapps and Magisk wants to try a dirty flash from 18.1, here are the steps I did:
(you're on your own if things break! better to do a clean flash! magisk isn't officially supported!)

    1. Restored images in Magisk
    2. Removed PIN and fingerprints
(Not sure if these first two steps are needed, but did them just in case)
    3. adb reboot sideload
    4. adb sideload lineage-19.1-20220426-nightly-enchilada-signed.zip
    5. Advanced->Reboot to Recovery
    6. Apply Update->Apply from ADB
    7. adb sideload MindTheGapps-12.1.0-arm64-20220416_174313.zip
    8. adb sideload Magisk-v24.3.apk
    9. Back->Reboot system now

I'm using a single SIM and I see the same thing often. I guess it depends on the amount of icons you have in the status bar. I observed this since the first build
Change the smallest width to 411 in developer options.
Before OOS 11 it was set to 411 by default but that changed with OOS11.

I'm on the May 17th enchilada nightly, and came directly from 18.1. I'd like to use ANT+, but no worky . Is this a known issue? Are there plans to fix it?

ANT+ also didn't work when I went from 17.1 to 18.1, but I fixed it by upgrading the firmware. I tried that again on 19, but it didn't fix it this time.

Here is what the ANT Tester app shows on LOS 19:

Question: Will there ever be more stable versions than the "nightlies"? I'm unsure where to put them in terms of quality and stability- should they be considered as "alpha" versions? Or are they even more reliable than "betas"?

    Thanks in advance.
imo the first 2 nightlies were perfectly stable. No crashes, fc, excessive battery drain, whatever. (y)
