Thx for your reply. NFC toggle in settings won't turn on. And is not available in quick settings. As it is probably my setup that's the issue, as no one else reports it, I prefer to spend time on install a clean rom instead of providing logcats and ask someone else to help fix my problem.
If after that I still have NFC issue, I'll come back with logcat.

Update 2023-01-24 does not install, always gets until
"Finalising package installation"
and after that is back at "Install".
There's a notification "Install error" and that's it.
Logcat is overwhelming, so I don't know what to append nor what to look for.

Just to give feedback with regards to the bootloop issues I had some days ago - the bootloops are gone completely without me changing anything on the system. They just appeared for the first two days of use of the latest build.

Update from last nightly 19.1 to last nightly 20. Smooth update.
I found that "sensors off" tile doesnt work properly.
When "sensor off" is enabled camera and micro works (not happened on 19.1).
Reproduce: If reboot with "sensors off" enabled, it works fine, camera doesnt work. Now, you disabled "sensors off", camera works (as expected). But now, you enabled "sensors off" and camera works as normal. Right now, "sensors off enabled" doesnt work.
How to enable "sensors off" tile: System>developer options>quick settings developer tiles.

In my case: I have lineage 20.0 after full flash after format device in 05.01.2023. I hadnt any problem with my device. Yesterday I have updated on version lineage-20.0-20230131-nightly-enchilada-signed.zip from upadate mechanism in device (device was in charger while I was updating) and after download, installing and restart I see bootloop, I was waiting some time (5min) and next I have unplugded charger and restarted device and no problem, Device has restared and working well, so my problem probably was pludged charger during updating (maybe) :cowboy:

I experienced another bootloop just now. A long press on the power button and another boot-up resolved the issue, the phone booted normally, as described before. Is there any way we can provide data on this matter? Bootloops do not show in logcats iirc.

Had a bootloop too a few minutes ago. Just happened after I drained the battery to 0% and then tried to boot it up whole charging.

and a second time while rebooting, after todays update (not charging) 😅

Copied a part of the logs, which could be the reason. Hope it helps.

Hello, apologies in advance for my noob question, I'm interested in rooting my OnePlus 6 to try and keep it alive a bit longer before I have to upgrade. It's currently running Android 11 that was last updated in 2021, can I just root straight to this? Also, will I still be able to use my banking apps safely? And pay for stuff using NFC google pay, etc.

If you need advice on how to install this ROM, there is a link to the wiki in the very first post. Everything important should be written there, just read carefully, go through everythinf cautiously and ask questions if help is needed :) If you run the latest OOS version (stock OnePlus software), you should be able to just install this ROM. But everything is mentioned in the wiki.
Without root/Magisk, in my experience banking apps do not cause any problem!

Edit: People are saying there is an "Install on inactive partition after OTA" option in Magisk app, but I have not been able to find it. Maybe it is worth checking out.
True, exists at least in my Magisk Manager app (V 25.2 stable). Be aware that this method only works if performed *after* completing OTA installation to the inactive slot but *before* first reboot:

Click the "install" link for Magisk itself:

Next click "install to inactive slot (after OTA)". Follow instructions, reboot and stay rooted

Same on my side :D I couldn't find any other issues at all, so at least we found something to report I guess 😂 Still rocking it as my main device, still thankful about the software and support. Incredible work from the devs.
True that! Will get my first paycheck come April, gonna make sure LuK will receive some coffees!

Just encountered this bootloop issue today, and fortunately got the logs while bootlooping. The problem disappeared after a force reboot. The logcat in bootloop is attached for analyzing possible cause. My system is without Magisk, only with gapps.
Same here. Might be solved in the next build. Found this issue report: https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/5587

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    What is your--

I do not have a device supporting aptX, AAC or LDAC (only SBC), but I read a lot of "offload" and "aac". Maybe this is similar to this patch?
Just pitching in information. Maybe it helps.

For me personally everything is flawless. Great work!
    We already set this prop.

Thank you @LuK1337 for keeping this device alive! Updated from 19.1, everything went smoothly and working good.

Love the new Aperture camera app, results are really nice - pics are nice and sharp, shutter is quick and snappy, UI is nice and the features are good. One thing I noticed though - pictures are 8 megapixels instead of 16 (I set the capture mode to maximize quality, but it's still 8MP). Also, on the video front, FPS is capped at 30 - can't change it in any of the resolution modes. Otherwise, very nice app, will be interesting to see where it goes next and how it grows :)

Hey, kernel 4.9.x has gone EOL - https://kernel.org/

Can anyone check which kernel is preinstalled and how lineageos handles EOL kernel? Is it going to be 4.9.x forever or is it updated?
The sad reality for Android phones is that they use downstream kernels - google takes the linux kernel and changes it to run android, then the chip maker changes that to run on the SoC, then the phone maker changes that to work with all the stuff in the phone. And then you arrive at something that is pretty far away from what that angry Finnish guy has released as "Linux". Add to that some binary drivers and proprietary interfaces, and you get the mess that is android.

There are actually projects to run the official Linux kernel (called mainline or upstream) on our device, for example the postmarketOS guys here have got all the core stuff working with mainline: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/OnePlus_6_(oneplus-enchilada)

However, that takes a lot of reverse engineering, and big parts one takes for granted in android just don't work, because nobody knows how or has been able to spent the weeks of unpaid work to learn. For example, last time I checked, the mainline kernel on the O+6 has somewhat broken cpufreq stuff, and a working camera is still far away.

For everybody looking for reviews before upgrading to LOS 20.0:

Stable, snappy & best in class update support are the best way to describe it, in my opinion.

    -------------------------------------------

I customized and flashed ih8sn.zip to get the play store certified. Android 13 feels a lot like Android 12, but got some customization options, which I was missing. It's been a very pleasing experience so far and I've been very happy to see support for such an "old" device. Huge thanks to all developers and especially luk for their great work.
