SE stated they wouldnt be customising their phones as heavily in the future and that the changes they do make from stock android wouldnt be as deep as they were previously to allow them to roll out updates faster...

This release is pimpin, works perfect and is a lot more smooth and faster than the motorola us version. i had to use the nandroid method but it worked as charm. thanks for posting it here

Only problem I have with this so far is that dialler doesn't match contacts as you type. eg 4663 for HOME. Oh and the symbols on the dialler pad itself.

I don't get the call recorder either.

I see a lot of people seem to think this is faster but has anyone done any quadrant comparisons with the other releases?

okay, so this is a fix this disadvantages of this release?
-you cant always stay in 2G ---> fix via service menu thx to no clue
-stock sms apps limited to 80 character ---> install alternative sms app
-camera shutter sound can't be turned off ---> build.prop edit, thx to Quza

You can also simply control 3G data connection using motorola 3G toggle widget.

OR delete camera_click.ogg and VideoRecord.ogg from /system/media/audio/ui.

Just trying to flash fsb, but doesnt boot.
I was on 3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR frimware

!!!!!!!!! Flash only if you come from a 2.21 or 2.34 rom "That is because it has version 2 for CG31 and CG39, if you are on stock 2.51 those versions are 3 and if you flashed leaked froyo those are 4 and you cannot flash any firmware with lower versions. if you are on 2.21 or 2.34 you can flash this, otherwise you will brick your phone. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im lucky, I just flashed 3.4.2_155-002_DEBLUR frimware again and it boots again, no harm at all!!

As said in the previous posts, from people that come from higher versions have to use the nandroid with the fixed SBF for it to work...

no, the 3G widget is not a 3G-2G toggle.
it is a APN (data traffic) ON-OFF.

i have to set "only 2G" manually from android service menu *#*#info#*#*

this is the 3rd android phone i have...the previous two (galaxy spica, lg optimus one) both had gps.conf file (containing the NTP servers) and changing them to your region speeded up gps. now, in moto defy i can't locate that file...it's missing...why?

I looked at my sources from other roms and none have the file your looking for.

Also NTP (network time protocol), is just for time syncing. Meaning it does nothing for gps... because it pulls the time from the cell network. The most you could do is set it to fetch the time from gps instead.

Ill upload deodexed files when I get home tonight.

But you could download the nandroid and expand the system image using unyaffs. If you want it now... heh.
