Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, the Redmi Note 8T was not marketed in Indonesia and India so there are no MIUI ROMs for those regions. In my old Redmi Note 7 (which was also sold in India and Indonesia) I installed the Indonesian ROM and the call recording works perfectly.
I would like to install the Mi-Globe, a MIUI ROM with call recording, but I can't; I always go into bootloop.

As soon as I can I will try the Lineage, even if I am not thrilled!

Thanks again and Happy Ferragosto !!

I am testing Lineage right now. It is very laggy. Animations often run in about 5-15 FPS. And I don't even have Gapps. But I haven't installed FW so that may be the reason

Is dirty flash from official LOS 17.1 to 18.1 with Magisk root possible?
I use TWRP as the recovery and encryption is enabled. I do not use any GAPPS.
I did not try, but have strong doubts that it will work: even from 18.1 unofficial to 18.1 official a clean flash including formatting of /data was necessary. But if you prepare yourself for a clean flash (i. e. backups) why not trying to dirty flash? If it fails (what I expect) you can still do the clean flashing. Let us know your results!

Hey guys,
Updated 2 days ago and having all sorts of random reboot issues. In the last 2 hours the phone has rebooted 3 times while sitting in front of me doing nothing. Running the latest Aug 29 nightly build (updated via OTA)
The previous version (Aug 22) was working fine with no reboot issues at all.
The previous update (Aug 8) gave the very occasional reboots.
It's an 8 Note, gingko.
Nothing weird or funky installed. Just LineageOS using TWRP, no root, or other.
Maybe it's a hint that the Aug 22 version worked perfect.
Let me know if I can get you more info and thanks for building and supporting us :)

EDIT: As a follow up, this rebooting is getting crazy...
Is it possible to dirty flash back to the previous release without needing to do a clean flash?

... clear, dirty flashing should be no problem.

Thanks @Uluru25
Sorry for being noob on this, but what should I wipe in TWRP before installing? I don't want to lose the data or apps.
Thx & cheers
... just "cache" and "dalvik cache" or "ART", see screenshot from dev's TG-group.

You don't need to re-flash firmware, it is not affected by flashing a rom.

Great work. Had the 18.1 on F2 Pro without bigger issues. Now done it on Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T and there is a big issue with the mic.

Problem:
Mic is not working with Skype and Signal, but on WhatsApp it does.

Interesting fact:
When i connect a headset through headphone jack and start a conversation, after pluging it out while talking, the inbuild mic works.

I have an audio issue where the microphone is overly sensitive, and I often can't be heard or hear the other person during voip calls. More people seem to have that issue but I couldn't find a fix. Please advise
I'm not sure, but i have some similiar problem. The microphone does not work in apps like Skype or Signal. In Whatsapp it's working. I found some trick how to use the mic in these apps. Plug-in a headset over headphone-jack, start a conversation and plug it out = the inbuilt microphone works again.

i also have such problems... flashed the newest willow firmware and the newest lineageos. (by the way: without gapps but with magisk installed) tried your solution, but only the mic with speakers on works after unplugging the headphones. the internal mic without speakers on doesn't work. so conclusio: normal phone calls --> only speakers or headphones work... normal calling at the ear doesn't work; whatsapp and signal: nothing works, only with headphones on. (and with your solution, but as i wrote only with speakers on). anybody have other solutions or idea?

Google

Hmm .. Now I'm a bit confused. I can't remember if i flashed the right Stock ROM before LOS. Is the codename "willow" standing for Redmi Note 8 or also for RN8T?

I kept in mind that gingko is the name for RN8T.

Another question would be, before i try to flash it again.. Which Programs are good for backup's? I heard about Titanium backup. In my case I'm searching for an Backup Program, which would contain all apps on the previous system, like Banking Apps (because of authorization).

Thx

No, quite the other way:
RN 8 = ginkgo
RN 8T = willow

can't use mic and phone in whatsapp and others app like native recording (mic, specifically) after last update (lineage-18.1-20220912-nightly-ginkgo-signed). does not recognize.

Speaking of firmware. On stock ROM firmware update was handled by the system updater. Am I supposed to do anything on LineageOS to keep track of firmware updates and update manually?
The latest firmware listed for Europe is V12.5.7.0.RCOEUXM but I can't find anything in that format in "About phone".

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Dear ginkgo/willow users LineageOS is back !
We are working to promote our devices to 18.1, few things to do are left such as pushing all and opening ticket.
    Changes are open at: https://review.lineageos.org/q/status:open+-is:wip
Source will be the same as Official lineage 17.1 ones so clean flash will be needed.
    Stay tuned !
