Hi everybody. I've been using this ROM in my ginkgo for a month now, but despite some users describing the battery life as good or excellent, I feel the battery is draining pretty fast actually, compared to the last crdroid-8 ROM I was using before. I'm talking about stand-by mode.

I leave my phone for a few hours, I lose 5% battery. I leave it overnight (in plane mode !), I lose 10%. Now I'm wondering, should I wait for the next update, or should I go back to crdroid 8? Battery is important to me and I don't see a big difference between A12.1 and A13 anyway...

I also have a problem playing my ogg files and the only way I can fix it is by hiding the vorbis section in /vendor/etc/audio/audio_policy_configuration.xml, as written here:

But I have to do it every time I update the system. Is Android already bugged when it comes out of Google labs? Does anybody have the same experience? How did you solve the problem?

Thanks to everybody, specially DarkJoker360 for developing this wonderful ROM for our device!

I would love to use CrDroid for Ginkgo/Wilow with A11 cause A12, A13 not impress me, at all, but nobody maintaining it. I would love to build it by myself, although I don't feel comfortable enough to do so :-(
CrDroid A11 for Tissot works super smooth with super battery life. Maybe anyone can help me with building such ROM?

Are you using wifi 2.4GHz? Looks like some Bluetooth devices can cause battery drain (even with BT turned off).

No, I'm using 5GHz. Bluetooth is always off and I turn airplane mode on before going to sleep. No connectivity at all. I'm also using the same applications as before. A few services seem to be always running, like Google Play or SwiftKey keyboard...

it's not the main phone ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
😅 That explains a lot..!

I turned airplane mode on in my phone yesterday and didn't touch it at all for 10 hours till this morning. No music, games, web browsing, conversations, nothing. The battery was at 57%.

When I turnded it on this morning the battery was at 53%. 3 hours later, in stand-by mode with wifi, it was at 49%. I sent a message quickly and it went down to 48%. It's definitely weird.

That probably means that if had left it for 20 hours in plane mode as you did, I would have lost 8%. Double than yours. And in normal mode I'm losing more than 1% per hour, with the screen off.

It's less than those 10% I was talking about, but much more than what I was used to with crdroid 8. Maybe I'll install it again just to see the difference and come back to crdroid 9 later when the next update is out.

I do have NickGapps installed. But I also had those installed with crdroid 8. A different version, of course. Do you think this could be a problem?

I don't know. I have installed nickgapps core, will test today.

I want to use my old 8T as a remote: for both infrared and smart devices over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
I don't care much about features - only battery life and device's responsiveness matter to me. crDroid seems to be the most bloat-free distribution which makes it my top candidate.
Should I just get the newest version, or - judging by the comments - there's an older rom that would fit my needs better? If so, which version exactly is the least battery-hungry?

I installed crdroid 9 in my gingko and used it for more than a month, since it came out, but I had this feeling the battery was draining much faster.

So, to do things in a proper and professional manner, yesterday I reinstalled crdroid 8 to compare the battery lives of both roms. I turned airplane mode on before going to sleep, just like before. The battery was at 96%. This morning, after 10 hours, the battery was at 95%. See the difference?

I'm sticking with crdroid 8 for now. It's stable, the battery life is the best I could get, and both roms look the same to me. But I'll come back to crdroid 9 later when the next update is out to see if things get better.

Instead of just installing crdroid 8, maybe you could install crdroid 9, test it for 24h and tell us about your own experience. I still feel like I'm the only one with this problem here.

How can I install MIUI camera in this rom?

I've been using MGC gcam from BSG:

Macro and wide angle are all working fine. Night Sight mode is amazing and you can change almost any setting you want like a professional. It's much better than MIUI's or any other camera, in my opinion...

Thank you!
In that case what I think I'm gonna do is install v7 first, then v8, then v9.
Each time making sure that she settings (wifi, bt, location, battery saving) are the same before charging it to 100% and measuring battery level after given time. I should probably find some kind of an app to display a precise level (voltage?) to make sure that measurements are consistent.
If v9 proves to be at least as good, or just marginally worse than the older versions - I'm keeping it. If not - downgrading.
I still have a few days before Mi Unlock week-long timeout runs out, so it might take a while!

But I asked about MIUI camera, not Google camera. I know what Google camera is and I know that site as well.

Hola,

I have experienced crdroid before but because of an issue, I had to gave up.

The issue is Android Auto.
When I install a custom rom without gapps (such as crdroid), android auto is not included in the system and I need to install it separately later, mostly with a specific custom gapps edition.
And app gives error when I try to connect to car, that app is not installed within operating system and it does not allow to run, probably block it somehow.

I try out some solutions but couldn't make it.
Do you have any suggestion ?

hi everyone :) i like to try this rom - now i have RessurrectionRemix (A10).
what should I pay attention to when installing this A13 rom?

as i read somewhere else when install A13 rom, need newest (A11) firmware to flash first.
but the description of this crdroid A13 rom does not mention it.

is it missing, or doesn't matter, or is the A10 firmware also good for this version?
    You need the latest firmware

Yup. It works properly. Just make sure you're clean flashing
    Thanks, not new on this.
Was probably the old DFE build, I'll try with DFE-NEO next time.

EDIT: After a clean install (including 'Internal Storage') everything works.
ROM looks stable (even more than latest CrDroid 8.x builds), only drain 2% over night on a phone with a 2 year battery.
Working with Magisk, microG and DFE-NEO (Disable Force Encryption NEO). Attach DFE-NEO settings for anyone who wants to use it.

    Changed settings:
    Code:
    Disable QUOTA= false
    Flash Magisk= false
    Skip warning= true
