As I said a bit above your post, the latest TWRP works fine, I would prefer to stick with TWRP.
On the other side I was going to wipe cache through recovery, but I have found that latest PE installed PixelExperience recovery and I can't overwrite it with TWRP. Any suggestion?
In twrp recovery there should be a option to stop stock recovery to replace the custom one after boot. But in pbrp it's enabled by default thats why i told u to use it.

Good to know. If only I could reinstall Twrp or PBRP over PE recovery...
I tried with the usual procedure, it seems to work, but as soon as I restart in recovery PE recovery comes up again

You can - use adb to flash the twrp recovery. Note however that the latest twrp (meaning the July 5th update) doesn't support the (metadata) encryption in PE so installing zips (whether it's the OTA, magisk what-have-you) will not work.
Essentially you can use the recovery to format and do a fresh, clean install - by default during the setup encryption is applied but at least on Note 8/8T TWRP isn't able to work with it.

Note sure if the default installed PE recovery can.

I tried `fastboor flash recovery twrp-3.5.2_9-1-ginkgo.img`, it seemd to work, but when I reboot in recovery I still get PE recovery.
Interesting about the metadata encryption. I dirty flashed latest PE last Sat using TWRP and it worked, I think. At least I am on last version and I have no issues (apart the immortal PE Recovery one)

In this case:
copy recovery to the phone or sd
fastboot boot recovery twrp-3.5.2_9-1-ginkgo.img
flash the image in twrp, then go for reboot recovery.

But pbrp has no issues....Encryption/applying updates, etc?

Hey,
So I tried to clean flash this rom (using orange fox recovery) into redmi note 8 ad my phone boots up and runs like a charm. But if I boot to custom recovery again after flashing this rom the phone should boot into AOSP recovery. But it just shows the orange fox logo for about 15 seconds and then the phone shuts off and again try to enter orange recovery. I cant even force restart my phone. And if I plug my phone to a PC for about 20-30 minutes the Xiaomi fastboot tool doesn't recognize my phone. I tried to flash custom recovery using ADB but ADB can't find the device. So can anyone please help me how to solve this problem? Even I tried the another Pixel Experience Plus Android 11 rom but also the same thing happens. I am using orange fox recovery version 11.0_1.

Yes sir, same for me yesterday with Willow. I thought it was caused by flashing DFE after flashing ROM, but so probably it's not the case. I solved flashing the latest stable fastboot MIUI rom from XiaomiAdbFastboot Tools, than flashing OrangeFox, wipe system etc., format data and than flashing the ROM zip. I also enabled the OTA updater settings in OrangeFox (I don't think it serves any purpose, but I'm writing it anyway).

EDIT: I tried to go to recovery and I got stuck again......so don't try to open it again... @iamsaalim

EDIT2 - installing Pitch Black Recovery (as said in previous posts) allows to open recovery but it got stuck on bootanimation if I reboot into system
    1. Flash vbmeta.img and recovery.img using adb fastboot
    2. Boot into recovery mode and connect ur phone to the computer using usb cable
    3. Copy the recovery file, ROM, latest 10 fw
    4. (In the recovery mode) flash recovery file
    5. Flash 10 fw
    6. Wipe cache/dalvik, data, vendor, internal storage, system
    7. Format data
    8. Install ROM
    9. Boot to system
If u using the latest version of PE+ or PE I suggest using pitch black recovery

The stock camera included in this PE (Android 11) rom does not open on my Redmi Note 8.

Needed to flash the attached Gcam Uninstall zip via TWRP to remove the stock camera i.e. which is system app and thus cannot be uninstalled normally.

Found the attached GCam 8.1 apk to install on my Note 8. This GCam 8.1 works perfectly.

Hey guys, I figured out how to stop PE recovery from overwriting TWRP!(Noob here, so ignore if you already know this).

All you have to do is format the cache partition in fastboot mode before booting to recovery. This can be done by fastboot erase cache , after fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.5.2_9-1-ginkgo.img .
