and please don't use that damn "Universal Safety Net Fix", it creates more problems than it helps
I can confirm that! It's unusable.

thts not right

1. magisk hide its only in last release existing (lygisk, canary and alpha magiskhide won't be there anymore!
2. Universal Safety Net Fix there are different versions, riru (2.1.3) for the old release and 2.2.1 for the new zygisk release.
3. the modules are also no longer offered online, but there is already an extension.

all of this has already been documented by john wu

again not quite correct....you can download it from the official GitHub pages.... you can achieve the same with zygisk as with magisk hide.... and the universal safety net is just not needed

Hello, I managed to install lineage-18.1-20220119-nightly on my s6 lite following the steps here, and while in recovery mode, I installed MindTheGapps-11.0.0-arm64-20210920_084011.zip and also Lygisk from SD card, then click the back arrow in the top left of the screen, then “Reboot system now”.

But the device has been stuck on the LineageOS logo for over 30 minutes, similar was discussed several years ago, and it was said that it worked after "wait for like 20-30 minutes on the bootloop", but it seems not working for me.

Not sure if it is relevant, while I tried to sideload gApps, I got error:
adb: sideload connection failed: device unauthorized.
This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.

So I installed via SD card and it worked.

What is the next step now?

Thanks.

=================
Edit:
I forgot this step :mad::
Now tap Factory Reset, then Format data / factory reset and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption and delete all files stored in the internal storage, as well as format your cache partition (if you have one).

==============
Edit:
did factory reset and re-did everything, now it is working.

Is there a way to get rid of the alert on booting "device is unlocked, not using official samsung firware... etc"?

Thanks.

I installed this rom, and reinstalled it two more times when I ran into a bug, but the bug is still there. When the tablet turns on the wifi works, but after some time (it can be a minute or thirty) it stops working and won't find any wifi networks. At this point you must reboot for it to work again.

The only difference I have than pure stock is that Magisk 24 is installed. However I have tried with Magisk 23 and got the same result. I doubt it is an issue with Magisk anyway.

Do not use Magisk with this ROM. You should use Lygisk 23.0.15 instead.

LOS18.1 with OpenGapps and Lygisk is working without any issues for me.

I installed the current version of Magisk and activated zygisk - but after that riru and riru modules (LSPosed) are deactivated, unfortunately I need LSPosed to activate AFWall+ and XPrivacyLua - ok this question is not of topic here so better place it in Magisk Forums. And I suppose I'll try Lygisk, why do you suppose it will disappear

I installed it without Magisk and I run into the same issue. I don't have gapps though.

Wifi keeps crashing and won't work until I restart the tablet. Then it stops working again. Any way to debug this?

I just picked up an s6 lite in Canada, $220 open box from bestbuy! Figured that lineageos would be the way to go but I've been seeing things saying wildvine l1 has issues (Netflix hd streaming) with lineageos. I haven't rooted and switched an os in a while and plan to use this while traveling for Netflix and other streaming services.

any hacks to bring back old spen icon? the new black one is distracting and really throwing my hand writing off. I know it's a performance gain but I don't care. I use this mainly for writing and so far haven't been bothered by any lag. please bring it back.

Since this is a WiFi tablet and the ringtone selector is not showing in the settings, I'm wondering if there is an adb shell command to launch/enable the ringtone selector. At the moment when I try to receive an audio call via an internet based messenger (Quicksy in this case which is based on the Conversations app), the tablet rings silently.
I'm trying to find documentation on this sort of issue in general searches.

I had a similar issue on a GrapheneOS phone once where the menu to set an unlock pattern was removed due to its relatively insecure nature compared to a PIN or password. I was able to find the adb shell command to set the pattern unlock. Is there a solution like this for a missing ringtone selector on this WiFi tablet?

I just bought two brand new S6 Lite tablets with the intent to install this ROM, but I can't for the life of me get my PC to communicate with either tablet in Fastboot mode. I've tried different cables, different ports, even different PCs. I've loaded the newest Samsung USB driver's but no luck. I've been doing this to phones since rooting my first Moto Droid in 2009. WTF??

I had also some trouble on installing at the first place.

Assuming you are using this instructions.

Looks like following this guide step by step, deinstalling all existing Samsung drivers beforehand, choosing Gadget Serial in zadig, rebooting after de/install, using original cabel at usb3 port and having a lot of patience solved the issue for me.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions:
Note: You may use Odin instead of Heimdall, for this you will need to rename the recovery image to recovery.img and pack it into a tar archive.

    Downloads:

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Should this tablet be supported by Lineage for some time or is it impossible to know?

Generally, when it comes to custom ROMs, it's impossible to say just how long a device will be supported. Sometimes, the device maintainer moves on and no one is available to take up the slack; other times, official support from the device developer (Samsung, in this case) stops, and though future Android updates can often be made to work with the last available code, sometimes it reaches a point where nothing further can be done. Can't speak to how long Linux4 will remain "on the job," but it doesn't look like he's going anywhere any time soon. Also, the Tab S6 Lite is supposed to officially get Android 12 some time next year, so device support should continue for a good while longer (in fact, an unofficial A12-based Lineage 19.0 is currently available, and will probably move to "official" status at some point when Lineage 19.0 builds become officially available [at the moment, 19.0 is still in the "bring-up" stage, with the software evolving day by day as its features are slowly being brought up]).

This was said multiple times already, this is caused by samsung having released two new harware revisions with new light sensor and new audio lately.
Support for these is already fixed and just waiting for some review/testing to be merged into official 18.1, for now you could use unofficial 19.0 tho which already contains everything needed for your hardware revision.

@Mr.Yindo This applies to you as well.
Support for these new hardware revisions will be included in the next build on Wednesday.
