Good morning everyone. I have installed the latest lineageos without the google applications. The installation was done with odin according to the instructions on their website. My problem is that when I watch something with plex, then youtube is freezing. I tried with original youtube, youtube vanced and from web browser. By all means after playing with plex it is freezing. After restart it is OK until i open plex again.Any ideas ?
Am I the only one with this problem ?

Am I the only one with this problem ?

Just freezing, but video plays the way it should? I'll try another video player (I've only been using a web browser) when I experience my issue again, but I've been recently having an issue where videos and sound get all garbled all the sudden for no apparent reason. Reboot and they play fine again. I had assumed it was something to do with the unofficial Magisk, so I was going to try another version or without temporarily before I assumed something was wrong.

First off all thanks a lot for this rom! I put LOS 18 on my tab the day I got it and never regretted it.
Currently I'm on LOS 20 and have two smaller issues:

Since LOS 20 the app drawer is only using part of the screen. Is there any way to go back using the full screen?

I'm using Magisk and at the beginning it got preserved during an OTA update. Unfortunately this broke at some point in the past. Don't know exactly when, I think with LOS 19. Searching this thread I found some posts with the same problem but no solution. My understanding is that for an A-only device there is only one method to preserve Magisk during OTA and that is with addon.d which allows Magisk to reinstall itself directly after update is installed. For this to work the data partition needs to be decrypted in the recovery. Is there any version of TWRP or Lineage Recovery which supports this in LOS 20?

I'm not sure there is one, I think you'll be stuck using recovery to update. If you use TWRP, you can just use an SD card to for your files. If you use Lineage Recovery, you would just use sideload as always.

No, you can also update from SD-card from within LOS. I do it after each LOS update.

Haha, Guess I've been making things harder than they needed to be. I just recently switched to LOS recovery on this device, and I have a couple others that use it, I'm so used to sideloading, I never thought to try the SD card.

Bluetooth keyboard stopped working after lineage 20 install. To be clear it pairs, it just doesn't register keystrokes. It worked fine on stock android 11.

What is your--
lineages version: 20, used only links from first post.

I did a full wipe

Are you using--
a task killer:no
a non-stock kernel:no
other modifications: Gapps installed with link from first page

Hi, I am extremely grateful to you for posting version 20 for my S5e wifi model.
Everything went perfectly, from original rom to custom, including Gapps.

Only problem I experience and unfortunately very annoying, is that when the tablet is turned off and turned on again it automatically did a factory reset and it does that every time.
If you do a reboot it does stay fine.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Have used the following: lineage-20.0-20230123-nightly-gts4lvwifi and MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-20221025_100653.

Hope someone can help me with this.
This should be fixed in the next builds.
Also, I'd recommend everyone here to update, since basically any /data ext4 corruption leads to userdata wipe in builds dated <= 2023-04-17.

Thank LuK1337. I had thought I'd mucked up last week on 2023-04-10 build when I found my device reset after upgrade. I use Magisk from SDCard after OTA update (doing the button dance to Recovery) and thought I'd just accidentally hit the reset in Recovery by mistake. Then I was sure this week to be cognizant of each step after OTA update, and found factory reset again when it did the final reboot into LineageOS. So finding this post is very, very helpful.

Thanks again...I use your LineageOS builds on this Samsung SM-T720 as well as a OnePlus 9 Pro, and frankly, cannot go back to using Stock Rom on either device. IMHO, this (LineageOS 20) is how Android should be, and stock ROMs appear to be Android's own worst enemy (IMHO). With Samsung locking bootloaders (mostly) these days, (I have an SM-T307U, and the Samsung stock ROM just sucks, with no recourse due to locked bootloader), I don't foresee any more Samsung Android devices in my future, and cannot recommend them as an enthusiast influencer.

So, THANK YOU for doing this for the community. Your efforts are very much appreciated!

Siggy

Alright this is going to be loooong one.
Used : lineage-20.0-20230418-nightly-gts4lvwifi-signed.zip
no task killer or non-stock rom and I'm using the correct model. I did everything to the T and it got stuck on Downloading screen here's a few pics I posted on reddit about it and it seems someone is also having the same exact problem as me eirlier today becuase they posted about it. Since the tablet was stuck on that downloading screen my battery died. I charged it for about an hour then downloaded the stock Samsung firmware and tried installing it using odin. It was in the process of installing when the battery died and now the tablet is stuck on the flashing teal screen saying "an error has occurred while updating the device software, Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." I tried but the tablet is not charging. My last resort so far has been to remove the display and unplug it and then throw it on the charger hoping it was the flashing display that was making it not charge. I'm going to check it in an hour and see if it charged any.

Basically the same issue here. I just purchased the T725 (gts4lv) LTE version last week and installed LOS 20 (including microG). Bluetooth pairing works, but in the language settings it is not recognized as a physical keyboard.

What is your--
LineageOS version: 20-20230411-microG-gts4lv
LineageOS Download url: https://download.lineage.microg.org/gts4lv/
Gapps version: no Gapps installed

Did you--
wipe: yes
restore with titanium backup: no
reboot after having the issue: yes

Are you using--
a task killer: no
a non-stock kernel: no
other modifications: no

Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed:
The bluetooth keyboard came with a cover from SonnyGoldTech. It is recognized as MQ-keyboard. Pairing works. But in the settings - system - languages and input there is no physical keyboard recognized.

I also tried the keyboard with my SGS10+ with LOS 19.1 and with my Pixel 4a with CalyxOS. In both phones it worked as it should. But I purchased the keyboard for the tablet. And yes, I always unpaired the keyboard after trying it with my phones.

I also tried changing some developer options (AVRCP-Version and Bluetooth MAP-Version). But this did not help either. Afterwards I reset these versions to the standard settings again.

If any logs are needed, please let me know how to find or create them.

I purchased another bluetooth keyboard on Amazon, because it was on sale. Actually it looks the same, except for the keyboard labels. But same experience with the new keyboard. Pairing is possible, but it is not recognized as physical keyboard.

I just purchased an S5e wifi and was following the install instructions for lineageOS 20. I followed all steps on the lineageOS install instructions page and successfully installed vbmeta. However, I'm stuck on installing the recovery file via Odin. The device boots correctly into download mode and Odin recognizes it, but fails on write due to an "Unassigned file". Odin log:

<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1301)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> Total Binary size: 64 M
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/003> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/003> SingleDownload.
<ID:0/003> ./recovery.img
<ID:0/003> Unassigned file
<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed.

I downloaded the latest version (gts4lvwifi, 20230424) for both vbmeta.img and recovery.img and converted them to .tars as instructed. I also attempted installing an older available version (20230410) since that helped someone else with a similar problem, but the same error occurred.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm new to lineageOS so any help would be much appreciated!

Hello, is there a reason why the "Automatic timezone" setting is missing under System/Date & Time?
Because you have a Wi-Fi only device.

Ive just done a clean install (full wipe) of my previous LOS 18 to the latest Lineage 20 build, also Magisk Delta with Deltas safety net fix. No other changes.

The problem im getting is it seems to pop up the "xxxx is not responding" dialog on several apps after a very short time even when they are responding. Clicking "wait" and the app is usable again but a few seconds later the same dialog pops up. The cycle repeats.
Closing then reloading the app normally does nothing and the issue reappears.

So far ive seen it on my system settings up, terminal emulator, facebook and k-9 mail to name a few.

A fresh reboot solves nothing as it returns shortly after.

I was on the 0501 release but just updated to 0506 and the problem remains. Nothing odd in the running processes or memory usage that i can see.

    Any ideas?

Thanks again. Yeah send link, I will have a look and maybe give it a go

Here is a guide from the OP6T mainly, you can just have a peak at the first section (start off fresh, obviously don't do this on your device), and creating the flash drive. You don't need to do the part about updating adb and fastboot anymore. Just going into synaptic, and installing them now, is good enough. They will be new enough versions to work.

Just note in Mint, you need to put sudo before any adb or fastboot commands.

Bluetooth keyboard still doesn't work. I reinstalled LineageOS, this time without microG. In page 10 I already reported this issue, but at that time I was using LineageOS for microG

Bluetooth pairing works, but in the language settings it is not recognized as a physical keyboard.

I created a logcat file from the Android Studio. I filtered the log for com.android.bluetooth. You can find my keyboard with the bluetooth device ID "DD:77:54:9D:5C:47" and with the name MQ-keyboard.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project, with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS GitHub organization. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel, or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.
