Tried to change languages and other settings but tablet can't see wifi networks which operates above 11 channel on Lineage OS. On stock Samsung ROM there wasn't such problem.

You can change Wi-Fi country code in`/data/./misc/apexdata/com.android.wifi/WifiConfigStore.xml`, just set the wifi_default_country_code string under the following xpath: `/WifiConfigStoreData/Settings/map[@name="Values"]` to DE or some other country. The default one is 00 (world) which has some restrictions but as far as I can tell, there's no magic country code that will satisfy everyone. Good luck!

( or just use <= ch11 )

Code:
What is your--
LineageOS version: lineage_gts4lvwifi-userdebug 11 RQ3A.211001.001 10041164
LineageOS Download url: https://download.lineageos.org/gts4lvwifi
Gapps version: Not sure.

Did you--
wipe: No

reboot after having the issue: Yes

Are you using--
a task killer: No
a non-stock kernel: No
other modifications: No

I'm having trouble with echoes on conference calls. It's not me whos getting the echoes, but rather the person on the other end. It seems like this rom is not canceling out it's own speaker on the build in microphone. It's happening when using both Facebook Messenger and Nextcloud Talk. It's been an issue before on several devices, and there are some suggestions on how to fix it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/the-echo.3835465/#post-81394251

This did not happen on the stock samsung rom.
Probably some configuration in the .xml files mentioned in the link is faulty?
I bought this tablet for calls to family etc., so if not solved i would have to revert to stock.

Kind Regards // Hvedemelsbof

Unfortunately, I'm still suffering from the inability of changing the speaker volume during video calls (tested with Skype and WhatsApp). The speaker keeps blaring at full volume (or at least close to it) and none of the various volume controls has any effect on the speaker volume. In fact, I already reported this issue back in January and I'm a bit surprised that nobody else has spoken up since then. Is the speaker volume control working fine for all of you during video calls?

Apart from that I'm very happy with this custom ROM. So a heartfelt thank you very much for your work! :)

Hello, can anyone please provide me with a link where I can read how to back up (and restore) stock firmware before installing LineageOS?

And is it recommended that I install all the latest updates to the stock firmware before LOS-installation?

After reading about the irritation and problems the bottom grey bar intorudces in android 12 in this comment thread, I decided to stick with lost 18.1 instead. I like to park my devices on stable builds anyway.

Is there any way to download old versions of LoS? I don't know how to build them myself. If anyone who downgraded/still has the last stable 18.1 rom can share the files that would be appreciated

:ROFLMAO: my bad. I just keep going back to the classic three buttons, everything else is annoying

Thanks for your work dude I really appreciate it. It's up and working smooth

I will say though (nothing to do with your ROM) that I just really don't like the real-world "feel" of android 12 compared to the last three iterations. Could you or anyone else point me in a direction to find old LineageOS versions without self building them? I know I can get another rom but I put more trust in Lineage just cause of how many developer eyeballs it has on it to keep it secure/stable

I have used this site before and it seems kosher for old lineage ROMs

There are no checksums but they are signed releases. And you can check if they are kosher by following this -

A bit long-winded but nice to have extra assurance.

I couldnt find any string parameter about coutry codes and when i executed the xpath expression i got a "inaccessible or not found exception".

The Wifi is always disabled and resets after turning it back on, although the "wifi_scan_always_enabled" string is set to true

Any idea ?

Edit: Flashing the T720XXU2DUD7 vb meta or the latest didnt solve the issue

Wondering if anyone can throw some light on this.
Running the S5E with LTE and the 23 Apr 22 Lineage 18.1 release.

Im experiencing sporadic freezes for 10-20 seconds when using apps or basically doing anything.
Its not all the time, it comes and goes, does not appear to be CPU or ram related. No task killers in use.
It'll be fine for hours then start doing it. Or sometimes it'll do it as soon as i start it from reboot.

Its done it from day 1 of install and ive never managed to fix it. Rebooting doesnt appear to make it go away either.

Is it because im using the external SD to extend internal storage or is that just a red herring?

The reason i haven't updated is ive got safety net working on this version and worried any further upgrades to 18 (or 19) will stop this feature fwiw.

Probably way too late but worth leaving this here for others to see.

"Disable HW Overlays" in developer options seems to have completely removed all the 20-30 second pauses and hangs.
Its fast and responsive now i've changed that option.

I want to install a custom ROM on my "new" tablet and came across your comment, written in big green letters. Unfortunately I can not do anything with it. Is this important for me to install LOS18?

Assume that Your "new" tablet is gts4lvwifi.
You can install 18.1 using legal installation instructions:
Before installation You have to unlock the bootloader if it is locked.
After installing 18.1 it is recommended to update vendor security version using Odin.
Link to the last vendor security udate is below:

Please choose file AP_T727JXU2DVG3_CL22521289_QB54250555_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS11.tar.md5

IMHO this vendor security update need to be executed once (19.1 updates include them if any exists).

IMHO the reason to start LOS installation with 18.1 and vendor security update is to keep sequence of vendor security updates e. (I never installed 19.1 on the "new" tablet) . After that You can install 19.1.
Now about good stuff 🙂
In 19.1 I use Magisk 25.2 and have to reinstall it after each 19.1 update 🙁.
Canonical Magisk installation for tablet, which has no Ramdisk requires patching recovery img, in our case LOS recovery:
For doing this You must install and run Magisk.apk and choose to it LOS recovery for patching and than fastboot patched img using PC.
INSTEAD I do the following: download latest LOS update to external microSD, rename Magisk.apk to Magisk.zip and put it also to microSD. Than reboot to LOS recovery, choose "apply update" than "apply update from microSD", update LOS, return to " apply update from microSD" and choose Magisk.zip.
Than reboot to (rooted) system 🙂

You can try to start with 19.1; look to the security part of settings, and if vendor security is actual, it's okay. Imho.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :
    Downloads :
    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    Code:

-- bit more friendly stock -> lineage instructions --

    1. Unlock the bootloader
    - Connect to WiFi network
    - Enable OEM Unlock in developer options
    - Turn off the tablet
    - Boot to download mode manually by plugging in USB and holding all the buttons for few seconds
    - Follow instructions on the screen
    2. Connect to WiFi network and make sure OEM Unlock in developer options is still checked
    3. Flash custom VBMeta image ( https://dl.twrp.me/gts4lvwifi/vbmeta.tar.html ) in Odin ( use AP slot )
    4. After flashing VBMeta, boot to stock. It'll likely ask you to wipe data, if so do that
    5. Connect to WiFi network and make sure OEM Unlock in developer options is still checked
    6. Now you can flash TWRP ( https://dl.twrp.me/gts4lvwifi ) in Odin ( use AP slot once again ), for convenience you can hold volume up while flashing it so that you boot to recovery right after it's flashed
    7. Install Lineage × whatever else you need ( gapps, addon-su, ... )
    8. Format data
    9. Reboot ( make sure to not install TWRP app when TWRP asks you to )

    ---

Also Odin download for those who can't find it on their own https://build.nethunter.com/samsung-tools/Odin_3.13.1.zip

Builds 20210531+ depend on Android 11 firmware, and thus from now on the recovery will abort the installation if you're still on Android 9 or 10 one.

You can update the firmware by flashing following Odin package: https://github.com/luk1337/gts4lv-fw/releases/tag/T720XXU2DUD7.

After the firmware update you should be able to flash newer builds.

I downloaded the bleeding-edge canary, not sure if that's necessary.

Its not necessary anymore. 21.2 works fine with Android 11, at least on all the devices I've tried so far. This one included. No need to run the canary builds.

Regular Magisk Releases Here. (GitHub Link)

I just flashed it. It boots for now. I just wonder if there is a way to not have this screen when I start my tab ?
    Yeah...flash Samsung's original software.
