If you had TWRP (which is probably gone if the OTA steps weren't followed correctly), you can still follow the general process of installing TWRP and Root. So:
Copy Magisk zip and TWRP installer to your phone's internal storage. Copy twrp.img file somewhere to your computer.
Boot to fastboot and connect to the computer.
Open your platform tools folder (adb and fastboot), open a command prompt and type "fastboot boot (twrp.img)" without quotes. Replace (twrp.img) with your own twrp.img file. You can drag the .img file into the command prompt and it will work.
Your phone should boot into TWRP. Then just install the TWRP installer zip, reboot to recovery and install Magisk. Your phone should be back to normal.
Its kinda confusing ant it lol. I'm slowly learning though.

Does it matter which slot to be on. Im on B slot, I believe I either rebooted and flashed one to many times or I didn't reboot when needed after flashing.
Also when flashing update via magisks, does magisks automatically flash the update to an inactive slot? If that's a dumb question forgive me I'm still learning

Working for me. Called over WiFi, it connected and showed a wifi call in progress.

Hey bro, there is an awesome app which allows you to choose any fingerprint icon you want. Its called OPFP control. It works perfectly on this rom.

in what scenario do you get reboots ? What modules enabled ? Kernel? Screen stabilization ?
Not sure what's going on there for you. Some logs would have helped.

That's great for you, but for me not so. I clean flashed 8.4.9 and it says server side error. But I flash back to 8.4.8 and it works just fine.

Edit: Changing initial answer because the internet has enough sarcasm. Anyway, you should be flashing over 10.3.3 as your base if you did a clean install (don't use Open Betas they don't have the same underlying framework), your SD card must be formatted for the clean install, if you are using Verizon or any of it's MVNOs then there are known issues on OnePlus and AOSP with that network, you could clean install 8.4.8 and do an OTA and see if that works since 8.4.9 clean flash did not. Just thinking of the general advice but if you want something specific you're going to need to post logs to get help.

Ok, thanks. It's the same one I was already using. After a few minutes, it stops working until you reboot, then just drops off again.
I suposse that you're seeing the "Can't charge right now" in Settings - Battery. This happens to me from time to time, but I just reboot the phone and it'll start charging over usb PD. You can also connect it to your computer or to a regular charger and then connect it to your PD-enabled charger.

Download the Catlog app from the Play Store.

After downloading the Catlog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into Catlog and stop the log recording.
