Should I need to flash LOS and gapps post the firmware update, also does it format user data?
Hi,if you are already running LOS 20 you can just run firmware tool.it will not wipe anything.yesterday i flashed LOS and battery is normal, without any kind of abnormal drain.last time i checked my battery health is about 76%.

Make sure your firmware is up to date and try using the ROM clean without any apps installed, the battery life should be normal, it's most likely a rogue app that is causing it.

In my case, battery life is superior to stock Oxygen OS 12 (I'm at 89% battery health after 3.5 years due to meticulous charging habits and temperature management).

If you still have problems, it could be a dying battery, when they die internal resistance goes through the roof and self discharge is massive.

Yes, but how to find it and how to fix it... Any help pls...

Yup. But if you are rooted and want to stay that way, after using the updater tool (which takes forever) and before rebooting - use the Magisk app to "install itself to the inactive slot on reboot," THEN reboot.

(Before using the updater tool, in developer options, I temporarily set the phone to stay awake during charge - then plugged it in so I could follow the update without my phone timing out.)

Thank you so much... Updated the firmware, it was really fast to update... So far battery backup looks promising...

For anyone having google maps problem like me, and didn't read the description to flash gapps after installing the ROM not after first boot. --> Network location has an apk? Just type it in google and apkmirror has the app. Absolutely mad, couldn't get mobile mcdonalds without spending a half an hour determining where I was...

I've decided to give up on OOS after the constant problems.
Moved to this ROM, so far it's great but I'm having sound problems.
The sound quality has been terrible when playing music or watching video. It's not as loud as the stock ROM and is distorted, if the volume is below 50% it's very hard to hear.
Anyone else having sound issues or have a fix?

It's a PIA, but maybe redownload the OS and Gapps (if you use them) and verify the hash numbers/letters before doing a clean reinstall?

I've had it a few weeks now and had a few updates since then, none seemed to fix it.
It doesn't seem like a corruption problem, it seems more to be just a bad audio implementation compared to stock, but I could be wrong.

Don't get me the wrong, the audio isn't terrible, but it's nowhere near as good as stock

I've been running this ROM since LOS 19 at least since October and the audio might be the way it is since there could be some OEM enhancements like Dolby Atmos on the stock rom than just make it louder that open source ROMs don't have.
The device maintainer could raise the overall volume for LineageOS guacamole but it could result in degraded sound quality.
There could even be a magisk module to improve the sound. That's what I would look for.

Very small issue today: After I rebooted when updating to build 20230507 my Wi-Fi was on but wouldn't connect to my access point. However, a reboot immediately resolved this.

Also this ROM appears to have a critical issue where it gets stuck in a bootloop when rebooting from the power button menu instead of the OTA updater app after updating, which as far as i know can only be resolved by a data wipe.

I am using Magisk so I'm not entirely sure if that could be causing it. I would need to backup and start from a clean install to test it.

Other than that very good experience with this ROM very good battery life compared to stock.

I have a converted T-Mobile that worked good for years. I went lineage and eventually my device OTA switched to build 20 on android 13. My 5 GHz WiFi connection dropped from 640 Mbps speed test to 12 Mbps !?.. So for 3 months I thought I was just one update away from getting back up and running.I am starting to be so inconvenienced by it I am thinking of getting rid of the phone, as I can't figure out where to go.. But maybe I can use the latest modem and flash it somehow?

Thanks for your consideration.

Im trying to add Aperture camera app to a rom via magisk but for some reason i am unable to get ApertureLensLauncher working so that the 3 cameras on this phone work. The primary lens only shows up.

Anybody have an idea or can point me in the right direction on how to get the 3 lens recognized by the app?

Some bank apps or e-commerce apps (in VietNam country) recognize Lineage 20 as rooted firmware and are not allowed to process the transaction. Not all, but some.
The last app I have this issue with is "Shopee"_an e-commerce app. If this app is also available in your country, please download it and take a look. It does not allow me to place the order.
And I confirm that after I clean Flash Lineage 20, I did not install any custom modifications like root or custom kernel.
Please help look and see if you need any additional information to make the firmware accepted from all the bank apps and e-commerce apps! Thank you! @LuK1337

What is your--
LineageOS version: 20-20230528-NIGHTLY-guacamole
LineageOS Download url: OTA updated through UPDATER
Gapps version: MindTheGapps (android 13)

Did you--
wipe: no
restore with titanium backup: no
reboot after having the issue: yes

Are you using--
a task killer: no
a non-stock kernel: no
other modifications: no

Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed: The first time I have had this issue is from the above version.

Some months ago, I switched from OOS11 to LOS20 on my Oneplus 7 Pro. Everything works as a charm, even though I neglected to upgrade the firmware. Unfortunately, battery life has taken a serious beating: whereas I easily could go 2 days on OOS11, now I hardly make it through the day.

I was wondering if the fact that I'm still running the OOS11 firmware might be the cause of it, and as such I'm considering a firmware upgrade. I have downloaded the firmware from the crDroid download page, but I see it contains a boot.img and dtbo.img. Can I safely run the update script, or do I need to replace boot.img and dtbo.img from the downloads.lineageos.org page (associated with my installed LOS build) ?

I think you should definitely update your firmware, just follow procedure on a wiki,it's a simple process.or at least use crdroid firmware upgrade package.it's a lot faster.you choose and good luck

I am sorry to ask such a basic question, but I cannot figure out where to find the firmware files. I tried the ones listed here, but after using them (either 31 or 33) my phone shows itself as model gm1911 and won't connect to the cellular network.

Edit, using H.38 from the crdroid downloads appears to be working, APN automatically set and working. Still shows the model as GM1911 though, what's up with that.
I typically download the OTA straight from OnePlus using Oxygen Updater, then extract the firmware files from the payload file using Payload Dumper Go.

It looks like those crdroid download files are the same, so that should be ok. My device also changed the model to GM1911 back when I upgraded from LineageOS 19 (mine is technically supposed to be a GM1917) but everything still works, so I don't worry about it. I'm not really sure why that happens, but OnePlus unified their India and Global ROMs with OxygenOS 12, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that.

The call blocking feature doesn't work. There's an option in the dialer settings to block all unknown calls. I have turned this on but still get calls from unknown numbers several times a day. There's no point blocking 1 number at a time as they keep using different numbers. Would really like the option to work that blocks all unknown calls.
I use Silence for this and love it. There may be similar apps on the Play store if you don't want to use f-droid.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Just thought I'd post feedback in case others are trying to decide on this ROM. All hardware features work perfectly and the bugs that OnePlus left us with on Oxygen OS 12 are gone. Things such as all 3 positions of the alert slider work, battery life is superior with about 10% per hour of screen on and 7% idle drain overnight during 10 hours (all activated Wifi, Bluetooth and cell radio with a smartwatch always connected). No VPN connection issues like on Oxygen OS 12 or ridiculous 15% overnight battery drain, even our triple camera is perfect and photo quality is about 90% of stock. The performance of apps and the ROM is better than stock thanks to Android 13's new ART runtime and the light system footprint (btw I have 8 GB of RAM in my device).

Safety net passes with Magisk and the latest module by Displax, Google Play Device Certification reports as certified and I also have no problems with banking apps or Netflix.

In conclusion, I highly recommend flashing this firmware if you are still dealing with the mess that is Oxygen OS 12 as it is almost like buying a brand new phone and it is really nice to have Android 13 running on a device that launched with 9 (here's hoping for Android 14 and 15 for this great phone).

I did that but I lost root. So I magisk patched the new recovery.img and flashed that. I have root and recovery 20! There has to be an easier way!
Good job getting it all back together 👍

And I'm not really in the know with root so I'm not sure if there is an easier way.

I think I saw some posts in the crDroid thread where a few members were explaining how they keep root between flashes. But I'm not sure. But from what I do know, that is basically what you have to do to keep root (patching the boot img with magisk). Though I don't believe you have to flash a new boot img every time a new build comes out. The dev would know more about that. I also think there is OTA with this ROM? If so I think going that route will keep root as well. You'll want to research some - as I said I'm not in the know with rooting (I don't do it - I have no need for it).
    2
After using the ROM for a week (installed update of 15/01/23), here are my observations: (Non rooted)
    1. The RAM usage of the ROM is little on the higher side, apps do reload frequently.
    2. Audio FX doesn't work for Youtube/games/social media apps, though it works with Spotify. The Dolby solution of other ROMS excels here.
    3. Some minor frame drops in social media apps like Whatsapp.
    4. All banking apps like Gpay, Paypal works absolutely fine. (without root/magisk)
Rest everything is working great (as expected).
