I'm not an expert but i will first upgrade to 11(to be on a safe side),bear in mind that you must unlock bootloader on 11,after that install latest 12 and just follow wiki instructions.good kuck.P.S: oxygen 12 will not allow unlocking bootloader anymore
Thanks for your help!

So, update to 11, unlock bootloader, update to 12, and then perhaps unlock the bootloader again? I would assume I need the bootloader unlocked again for flashing the LineageOS 20 ROM.

Btw, I guess I'm blind. The Lineage wiki clearly states I need to update to Android 12.

When you update to 12 you don't need to unlock bootloader,it will stay unlocked, just follow instructions carefully,i see they added "flashing additional partitions", i think from yesterday

You only need to unlock the bootloader once, just make sure you do this before upgrading to Oxygen O.S. 12, once you've done this, do the rest following the Lineage Wiki and you're good to go.

Fingerprint button won't stick the hardware scanner position if screen rotated 180, like payment or lockscreen.

Still running OEM version of A12....contemplating this OS...one question however: Any issues with Canadian banking apps with/or without FP? Thanks for any feedback.

Hi,

I am new to this but I have been reading the forum and the guides and I think I know the procedure of flashing the phone but would like to check please.

I have a OnePlus 7 Pro running stock Oxygen OS 11, I would like to bring this up to date and run LineageOS20 to do this I believe I need to do the following?

Unlock Bootloader
Update to LineageOS 19.1
Update to LineageOS 20
Load on GApps

Am I missing any stages?

When looking at the builds I only found version 20, is there an archive of previous builds to get LineageOS 19.1 Or do I need to use the build my own tool?

Thank you for your help

I would unlock the BL, update to OOS12, then flash LOS 20 and gApps.
This device in unbrickable, so don't worry if you do anything wrong.

Hi devs!

Love your ROM and it works absolutely fantastic and I commend you for your time and efforts.

However, I have two potential bugs to point out that are related to lockscreen functionality.

The first is related to opening quick settings on the lockscreen. I have noticed that if I am on the lockscreen and I open quick settings by swiping from the very top of the screen (from the status bar) I can change and toggle quick settings without using a password or fingerprint.

Alternatively, when I open quick settings by swiping down from anywhere on the screen except directly from the status bar, it only partially opens the quick settings, and trying to change any toggles requires fingerprint or pin entry.

I have posted a 20 second video demonstrating this phenonomenon at the youtube link below:
(note that the screen going black in the video is the phone asking for a passcode after pressing a quick toggle)

The second issue I'd like to point out may potentially be a problem with Android 13 in general rather than just this LineageOS build, but it has to do with the "Touchscreen Gestures" or lockscreen gestures that allow you to, for example, draw an O on the screen to toggle the flashlight. If you enable Always on Display, the touchscreen gestures simply do not work, they are not detected.

Additionally, if for example, the phone detects you touching the fingerprint scanner, it temporarily shows the "Ambient Display" screen (which closesly resembles Always on Display) that also does not allow for lockscreen gesture input.

I hope these two issues can be remedied in a future build, and again I thank you for all of your hard work devs! <3

Well, I didn't even get that far. So I updated to OxygenOS11, but there is no update available to OxygenOS12 for me. What to do now? I assume I have to flash LineageOS 19? Or can I just install LineageOS 20 straight away?

I saw this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...geos-v19-1-16-03-2022-stable-release.4417177/
So do I need to start here to get LineageOS 19 and later get back to installing 20, the official wiki way?

I'll try to help and simple as i can.the fastest way(if you are on OS 11 with bootloader unlocked) is to flash firmware provided by crdroid.after that just continue with lineage wiki.

If you are on official OS 11 now these are the steps you need to follow.
1. Unlock bootloader. (Wipes everything)
2. Update to OS 12. If you do not see an update for you device, use the Oxygen updater app available at playstore to update.
3. Flash Lineage 20 using the official guide

Hi, with latest night, does anyone have poor incall quality, the other side do not hear me well and I hear them not so good too. With stock OS12 all was ok.
Another issue, quicker battery drain. Again, compare to stock OS12

Hi,
I am looking for some help please.
I have been using Lineage OS 20 for a few weeks now and it is very good but I have been having issues with some apps when it comes to ordering and using payment methods. I believe this is due to the phone having the bootloader unlocked.

Looking into it it is advised to install Magisk to get round this?

If I should install this would this be another wipe of the phone, install Magisk and then put Lineage OS20 back on?

Or can I install it over the top of the current install and just side load it in recovery mode?

Thank you

It is very straight forward, just boot to recovery and adb sideload magisk, and magisk will survive OTA.good luck

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

I did that but I lost root. So I magisk patched the new recovery.img and flashed that. I have root and recovery 20! There has to be an easier way!
Good job getting it all back together 👍

And I'm not really in the know with root so I'm not sure if there is an easier way.

I think I saw some posts in the crDroid thread where a few members were explaining how they keep root between flashes. But I'm not sure. But from what I do know, that is basically what you have to do to keep root (patching the boot img with magisk). Though I don't believe you have to flash a new boot img every time a new build comes out. The dev would know more about that. I also think there is OTA with this ROM? If so I think going that route will keep root as well. You'll want to research some - as I said I'm not in the know with rooting (I don't do it - I have no need for it).

After using the ROM for a week (installed update of 15/01/23), here are my observations: (Non rooted)
    1. The RAM usage of the ROM is little on the higher side, apps do reload frequently.
    2. Audio FX doesn't work for Youtube/games/social media apps, though it works with Spotify. The Dolby solution of other ROMS excels here.
    3. Some minor frame drops in social media apps like Whatsapp.
    4. All banking apps like Gpay, Paypal works absolutely fine. (without root/magisk)
Rest everything is working great (as expected).

I read this in some paragraph about "if you want to use/keep using gapps". I hate wiping because even with TiBu or Swift Backup I cannot restore everything. I'm running 19 now but like to keep current and Lineage is my GoTo rom in my OP7Pro. Kudos to you for that!
"NOTE: If you previously had any Google Apps add-on package installed on your device, you must install an updated package before the first boot of Android! If you did not have Google Apps installed, you must wipe the Data partition (or perform a factory reset) to install them."
    gapps 19 -> gapps 20 => no wipe
    gapps 19 -> no gapps 20 => wipe
    no gapps 19 -> gapps 20 => wipe
no gapps 19 -> no gapps 20 => no wipe
