Hi, I am in ArrowOS v12.1 (android 12.1), oneplus 7 pro (guacamole). Can I do the clean install of Lineage 20 without going back to Oxygen OS?

Hello there,

Is there any custom kernel compatible with LOS 20? I see there's a lot of them in the dedicated subforum, but none seems available for Android 13

Today i tried to update to the 20230409-nightly via the system update from 20230402-nightly, but after it finished i pressed reboot and it only bootet to the recovery. Lukily after a few reboots it switched back to the other slot and now I'm back on 20230402. Any Idea what went wrong and how to fix it?

Hi,

I have been playing with Magisk to see if I could get it to fix an issue I have where apps are detecting the phone has been unlocked and loaded with a custom ROM.
I have followed steps that have been mentioned to get Google Wallet to work again but the apps I am having problems with are still detecting that it is a Custom ROM(https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-google-wallet-pay-with-magisk.4471279/)

The apps I am using and have found issues with are below, does anyone here use the same apps and found a way round the issues?

Tesco-Unable to enable the pay with barcode feature within the app
Barclaycard-Unable to enable login via thumbprint biometrics
KFC-Unable to complete a transaction
McDonalds-App locks up when performing a transaction

Thank you for your help

Just thought I'd post feedback in case others are trying to decide on this ROM. All hardware features work perfectly and the bugs that OnePlus left us with on Oxygen OS 12 are gone. Things such as all 3 positions of the alert slider work, battery life is superior with about 10% per hour of screen on and 7% idle drain overnight during 10 hours (all activated Wifi, Bluetooth and cell radio with a smartwatch always connected). No VPN connection issues like on Oxygen OS 12 or ridiculous 15% overnight battery drain, even our triple camera is perfect and photo quality is about 90% of stock. The performance of apps and the ROM is better than stock thanks to Android 13's new ART runtime and the light system footprint (btw I have 8 GB of RAM in my device).

Safety net passes with Magisk and the latest module by Displax, Google Play Device Certification reports as certified and I also have no problems with banking apps or Netflix.

In conclusion, I highly recommend flashing this firmware if you are still dealing with the mess that is Oxygen OS 12 as it is almost like buying a brand new phone and it is really nice to have Android 13 running on a device that launched with 9 (here's hoping for Android 14 and 15 for this great phone).

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    Code:
    What is your--
    LineageOS version:
    LineageOS Download url:
    Gapps version:

I did that but I lost root. So I magisk patched the new recovery.img and flashed that. I have root and recovery 20! There has to be an easier way!
Good job getting it all back together 👍

And I'm not really in the know with root so I'm not sure if there is an easier way.

I think I saw some posts in the crDroid thread where a few members were explaining how they keep root between flashes. But I'm not sure. But from what I do know, that is basically what you have to do to keep root (patching the boot img with magisk). Though I don't believe you have to flash a new boot img every time a new build comes out. The dev would know more about that. I also think there is OTA with this ROM? If so I think going that route will keep root as well. You'll want to research some - as I said I'm not in the know with rooting (I don't do it - I have no need for it).

After using the ROM for a week (installed update of 15/01/23), here are my observations: (Non rooted)
    1. The RAM usage of the ROM is little on the higher side, apps do reload frequently.
    2. Audio FX doesn't work for Youtube/games/social media apps, though it works with Spotify. The Dolby solution of other ROMS excels here.
    3. Some minor frame drops in social media apps like Whatsapp.
    4. All banking apps like Gpay, Paypal works absolutely fine. (without root/magisk)
Rest everything is working great (as expected).
