I realize everything is still in development, but I'm curious as to if you intend on updating to the 5.1 HTC firmware before exiting "beta", or if you intend to let the "official" build do that.

We indeed are going to update the firmware to 5.1, we are waiting for HTC to drop the kernel source in order to do that.

Because I'm not a dev, I'll ask about the fact that ViperOneM9 3.0.0 has support for the 2.6 firm, and they're doing this same as you? Without kernel source?

Regardless, thanks for the reply, always happy to see another device of mine run CM.

I've already updated my firmware to the latest one in anticipation of this ROM! Does this mean I need to downgrade to the 1.4** version or can I still install this?

You just made my M9 a whole lot better. Thank you so much guys <3
Hopefully you will get the camera working soon, so I can use it as my daily driver.

Long pressing power button to access advanced reboot menu results in forced closes and the system reboots. It is happening every-time I repeat it. I had to download TWRP Manager to access recovery..

I think I will need to allow more time before considering this as a daily driver but thanks for the Rom nonetheless..

might be time to switch the OnePlus Two, I don't think this camera issue is going to be fixed anytime soon if ever.

Sure, go ahead. If you buy a phone for development then you are spending your money for the wrong reason, but I don't judge.
We didn't plan to release a CM build at all but then I thought 'Hey, let's do it, let's give the community a change with a simple preview'
This is supposed to be a preview and not a daily driver. Things take time and the camera bug has been one of most grueling one even for us.
If you don't have the patience to just wait and watch the thread, you shouldn't be here at all.

    For everyone,
If we don't interact, it doesn't mean we aren't watching the thread or working on fixing the stuff. We are, whenever we get free time.
I know everyone's needing a 2.8 firmware based build, I'll release it, camera or no camera, once I have some time.

    Cheers

    Hey everyone,
We have upgraded the firmware to 2.8, CM works pretty great with it.
There isn't any progress with camera yet, the whole thing is a mess. The camera HAL is deeply integrated with Sense. Since we don't have a Google Play edition for M9, we have to use 'bloaty' binaries from Sense. The camera HAL refers to functions which are present in sense which it fails to locate on CM for obvious reasons.
We are working on a possible solution for this, I'll keep everyone updated about it if it works out.

    Hey there,
So, we did a bit of investigation on the issues reported here. It turns out this issue has been present since a long time, the thing is it shows it's face only when a clean install is performed. As we don't wipe our devices for every new build we make during our development process it didn't come to our attention until now.
We are working on finding out the root cause and will take time.
But, I have found a workaround to this which will let you install and use CM just fine with no issues (except the 'broken' ones )! :)

This has been tested and works perfectly
    Here's how to do it.
    Steps involved:
    1. Wipe /system /cache and factory reset
    2. Flash this old June 02 build
    3. Boot into system, setup your things.
    4. Then flash the latest build (the one you downloaded) given in the OP without wiping anything. Just flash it on top.
    5. Install gapps and you are good to go.
