The ROM firmware must be different to stock firmware somehow.Hi, I'm not new to installing LineageOS but I've never really followed the official guides. Since I was thinking to move also my 1+7t to this ROM, for once I opened the official guide and to my surprise I found the entry about updating "updating to the newer vendor firmware".
Is this really necessary? I have always thought that it comes when available with an update of the custom ROM. Is this incorrect?
Thank you for the answer. The ROM firmware must be different to stock firmware somehow.
For some of us with a particular model, the mic doesn't work after flashing the ROM. Flashing the stock firmware after flashing the ROM fixes the mic. If your mic is fine, you don't need to flash stock firmware.
What does baseband update mean for us? Its not that much left until November. Its important for users to push Oneplus the right direction for longevity.FYI ... firmware 126.96.36.199:

I started to think if I want this update at all. Not long time ago my second SIM stopped working. AT&T turned off 3G near my home (I guess) and it was unable to find network. It was able to see AT&T on the first SIM, but not on the second, even though I have enabled LTE for the 2d SIM. That was on OOS.
I have added these settings using setprop and without touching build.prop. It seems to survive reboot and just now it has survived OS upgrade. Both SIMs register in their networks. On OP7T / LineageOS .. What I did was modify build.prop and inserted the following: persist.radio.multisim=dsds; persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds & persist.vendor.radio.multisim_switch_support=true.
I tried using set prop but noticed that it was only temporary, so I went with build.prop.
Inserting only "persist.radio.multisim dsds" didn't show up as a dual sim phone and I wasn't able to enable DSDS.
Reset network, reset apnCan anyone help with missed calls and texts very delayed? I'm on TMO prepaid. I use this rom coming from the TMO 7T varient > Global rom > Los 18.1, and having hit or miss calls and messages. I sometimes get a text or call in real time, but other times I get delayed texts (bunch at one time) and callers often say it goes straight to voicemail. Sometimes I dial, and popup says "Can't connect to network" even though phone displays online wifi + LTE. Or, I send a text, and error is "failed to send message". Usually reboot the phone will send that message. I think it's associated with transitioning in and out of wifi/lte but can't put a finger on it in terms of roaming around networks.
For this ROM, I've updated 2-3 times since it's been available, but still stuck with this issue.
As a note, I put the TMO sim in my old 'decomissioned' pixel 2 to test sim card, and all calls/sms seems fine for the week I used it.
