is it possible to update by sideload? my phone is stuck in finalising package installation
Boot into LOS recovery
Select “Apply Update”, then “Apply from ADB” to begin sideload ... (alternative : apply from USB OTG)
Sideload the package using: adb sideload filename.zip.

If you want to reinstall any add-ons (i.e. MindTheGapps), click Advanced, then Reboot to Recovery, then when your device reboots, click Apply Update, then Apply from ADB, then adb sideload filename.zip those packages in sequence.

Once you have installed everything successfully, click the back arrow in the top left of the screen, then “Reboot system now”.

Bluetooth microphone.
Anyone else having problems with some Bluetooth microphones?
My earphone microphone works but not the mic on my Nissan Leaf.
I have tested the Leaf with another phone & it is fine.
I have tried all the obvious and generally recommended tweaks.
Before I reset all the Bluetooth/wifi/mobile data settings or do a clean install, any other suggestions?
TIA

My experience after installing this on my OnePlus 7T Indian Version (HD1901)
The screen changes hues in every 20 seconds or so. Like going from slight orange to pure black. The brightness slider sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Please tell me if both these issues gets fixed. I loved all other parts of the os, only this kept me from using it as a daily driver. Although there are some issues with bluetooth audio too.

I used to experience same issues first day after installation (I am from EU, but I believe I have chinese version, flashed with manufacturer's EU software and like a month ago replaced with LOS). Hue issue seems to have disappeared. Brightness issue shows up, workaround is to tap on the location on brightness slider instead of slide it, or vice versa, whatever works.

For me, this isn't a major issue.

Did someone get Widevine L1 certification ? I'm stuck on L3 even with ih8sn's patch.
Also, it looks like Snapchat doesn't work even I successfully pass SafetyNet. Should I try to root my device with Magisk and then hide it ?

I don't know anything about Snapchat but quite a few apps require an unrooted phone, so probably worth trying.

in my opinion, before applying this patch, it must be edited for your smartphone model. but how it's done - I don't know, sorry

Hello,

I am running Lineage OS 20 with Nikgapps on a OnePlus 7T and I am very pleased with the setup with one exception: Google Speech Services.

If I go to Settings - ... - Languages & input - .. - Text to speech, it crashes my Setting app.

Is this an LOS issue or a Nikgapps one? And can someone help me to fix it?

Best Regards,
Horatiu

Well, I use the recommended MindTheGapps and it works great here. So maybe your assumption is correct.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any 18.1 release anymore since LineageOS's website has been updated. I tried Archive.org, but cannot find any 18.1 zip and recovery for hotdogb as well.
If someone still have a release, let me know !

So after I backed up everything, I decided to update to the lastest LOS version 19/20. But you kind of send the signals that people with unofficial builds can leave because of MicroG, magisk, spoofing. I must upgrade vendor before upgrading the Android version but this "tutorial" is lacking steps:

Compared to kebab that has a little more "lines" of text to read:

I enabled usb debug and reboot to recovery, I did the payload dump to get a extracted folder, I open cmd from said folder, I enable adb sideload, I enter fastboot in the phone, I copy paste the fastboot flash commands but I see no change, vendor security is still the same. what I saw was fastboot: unknown option -- slot=all

So my suggestion is, remove the firmware update page as it doesn't work or mention that unofficial build should revert back to stock, update the OS and reinstall whatever ROM of choice. Yes I know that you ship firmware but for some reason, unofficial builds don't do that. There is not a single tutorial on YT about this issue because everyone install ROMS EOL and never gets stuck in this situation. The "creator" of this unofficial ROM is just a server, not a person to talk to.
You aren't supposed to notice any difference after updating your FW. Also, `what I saw was fastboot: unknown option -- slot=all` usually happens when you're using very old fastboot.
BTW, you can see in attachment that these instructions work fine ^^

i'm having the same issue with screen brightness while using fingerprint where it locks to full brightness. but i noticed, if you move the brightness slider slowly, about 3/4, the screen goes green and blurs the background which is what happens while reading fingerprint. moving it further right, it focuses back and goes bright again. seems to me it's activating fingerprint brightness mode but not releasing it. Interestingly, opening camera corrects brightness issue. not sure if this will help compiler, just wanted to add a little more detail to the issue.
Regarding the issue with the brightness: I found a setting under Settings > Display > LiveDisplay. Click on Display mode. Mine was on "automatic". After turning it off the brightness immediately went back to a normal level, I was able to adjust the brightness level without it reverting to 100%, and automatic brightness seems normal too.

Just thought I'd share for anyone else that has this issue. Hope it helps.

Aside from removing your fingerprints to solve the issue I found that changing the display mode in LiveDisplay to Outside and then back to Off or Automatic makes the brightness slider function normally again after a fingerprint unlock.

Would be cool if someone, including myself, wrote a background service that listened to fingerprint unlocks. When the phone is unlocked or fingerprint is cancelled, do the steps above programmatically. At least until this is hopefully fixed at the OS level.

Today I got a new battery, replaced the broken back glass, and upgraded to LOS 20 from 18! It's like a brand new phone, so happy!! Thank you once again LuK1337 and the LOS team.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

If you want to keep your Magisk configuration when upgrading from 19.1 to 20, this is how it works:
    1. Download Lineage OS and extract the zip file
    2. Create a patched boot image:
      -> payload-dumper-go -p boot payload.bin
-> copy boot.img to smartphone, open Magisk, select Magisk install > Select file and patch
      -> copy /sdcard/Downloads/magisk_patched-XXX.img to PC
    3. Follow the official upgrade instructions up to and including step 6 or 7. Do not do any (!) reboot for now!
    4. Select Advanced > Enable ADB
    5. adb reboot bootloader
    6. fastboot flash boot magisk_patched-XXX.img
    7. fastboot reboot

    Thanks @mikefnz & @LuK1337
I tried going from 18 to 20 but it failed (not the fail that can be ignored).
I think I'll flash 19 and then 20, rather than do a fresh install of 20.
I would just do a clean install to 20 but see if the boss has any expert advice
Ok, I tried going directly from 18 to 20 again and it worked flawlessly!!
I don't know why it failed the first time so I tried again, and it just worked. All my data intact, and on first boot, everything worked exactly as it did before I updated.

Does anyone have a problem with SafetyNet? For me it does not pass CTS profile match
Check this reply, it works like a charm!
