On my OP8 i have access to the zoomed out camera using GCam. The GCam version GCam8.2.204_Greatness.211115 along with config nrG-v3-OP8-8T-Greatness-8.2.204-211115.xml supports the normal camera as well as the "wide angle" camera (the 0.6x one from stock OS). You just click the icon with 3 trees to switch to that one. Click the 2 trees to go back to the normal one. Unfortunately the 2mp macro camera is not supported, but that camera is useless anyway.
Thank you very much! This works very well! :)

@anishpratheepan Hello bro, did u still developing? we can expect los19 from your hand?
+1 the maintainer is still rolling out builds, hopefully we can see LOS 19.1 roll out soon for the 8 series as the 6T already got the update ironically. The unofficial 19.1 build and crDroid are as close as we can get to LOS 19.1 atm (I wouldn't recommend running the unofficial 19.1 though)

My understanding that the fault lies squarely at OnePlus, for violating GPL by not releasing the kernel source code when they released OOS 12. This issue is ongoing. OnePlus has since released some incomplete code to the public. It is almost as if they have something to hide.

OnePlus is not what it used to be, and we as the power users need to vote with our money. I am quite certain OnePlus 8 is going to be my last OnePlus phone moving forward.

They've released enough of the kernel source code for LuK1337 to do oplus bringup for OnePlus sm8250, which you can see on LineageOS Gerrit. I'm currently running self-builds of LineageOS 19.1 based off the oplus bringup on my T-Mobile OnePlus 8.

Hope that means official builds aren't too far in the future! I've tried a few other ROMs but my favorite is still Lineage. OnePlus completely destroyed OOS with their Android 12 update.

I experience since the last update a high battery consumption. For example, it is fully charged -I don't touch it for 7h (screen off, no bluetooth) and I lost 20%. The system shows nothing who or what drew the energy.
Does anyone else experience the same?

Also on he latest update and haven't experienced anything similar so far. What are your battery usage statistics saying?

@mvmike
Thanks for your reply! I observed the issue a bit and I am sure the battery consumption is higher. Before, I could use the phone two days before I had to recharge it -now it is at most one. The battery usage statistic is useless... please see the attached screenshot.
During the last night (~7h). The phone was again just on my desk and the battery dropped by 15% ... I do not get this.

Can I rollback to a previous update?

I charged my phone again -turned off Wifi, Mobile Network Connection, Bluetooth (so essentially everything). I put it on my desk. It lost 11% within 7h -sounds too much to me :/
The energy consumption overview (the picture from above) shows no entry. It only shows that the energy consumption was linear.

Again, I would appreciate if someone could give me a pointer how to install / rollback to an older version. Can I simply do this with `adb sideload ` -or is there any danger that I loss my data?

Thank you!

For completness: I fixed my issue. It was not due to the recent/last update. I changed more or less in parallel to the last update my data plan to safe money. Apparently that enabled 5G -which I did not have before. It seems that 5G needs a lot of energy. I disabled it in my settings and now everything is back to normal.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    1. Yes, No Face unlock
    2. It's working
    3. Volume sliders works perfectly
My vol slider is perfect and download
I'm loving the official Lineage and all set up without issue.
There are a few niggles I have that make me wanna stick with Oxygen OS for now (until OP fall behind on their updates for the device.
    • No Face Unlock?
    • No working wide-angle camera?
    • Volume slider doesn't work?
So... while I'll be back in the near future. How do I revert back to stock?
Back on OS via MSS tool for now but will be following this thread and development closely :)
Op isn't falling behind on anything ? This is the first build for op8. Perfect fp scanner no need for face unlock at all,as good as stock. My volume slider works like stock build also & download a different cam. We owe these people our thanks, not our complaints.

Here is link to Wichaya. Download and install the apk. These are the gold standard for our devices. Work nicely right out the box.

Search for payload dumper. Can be used in Windows as a standalone program, or making use of Python3 under Linux as well. Doing so, you will be able to extract the boot.img to be patched with Magisk. Very good explanations on howto, here on XDA.
Either this or you flash it directly as a zip, which is what i did
