@firebird11, I just noticed a 1/11/22 build of crDroid 8.x (12) and new recovery image, will you be updating this thread or maybe start a new one? Install instructions still same as op? Thanks

Just click on the link a few posts up for sourceforge> stop the download if it auto starts> scroll down and click on firebird11 in "maintainers"> click on crDroid in "Projects"> click second tab "files"> scroll to kebab and you will see the new version 8.x> profit!! I haven't flashed yet and am following along on telegram for comments until hopefully this thread gets going again.

How did you notice that there is a new build and recovery?
The maintainer did it post anywhere?
There is no thread on xda.

I'm receiving " failed to verify file" after download within settings > OTA .

Anyone else come across this?

hey how can i update the rom without loosing magisk and data? im at v12 and gonna go for v14 directly, is that okay? (sorry i havent been in the game since op5t so this A/B partition stuff is new to me)

The latest Update from 0122 is not clean flashable from twrp.
I've checked all twrp versions.

After the update reboot, you can flash the twrp-installer with magisk.
That's the way you keep TWRP alive.

I'm going to risk going off-topic a bit, but I hope the question and answer will be useful to others. I have looked for an answer but can't find one that sets my mind at rest.
I've been using @hhrokarvi's crDroid for Nexus 5 (Hammerhead) & Nexus 6 (Shamu) for a long time, so I'd like to try this one on my 8T. The thing that makes me hesitate is the A/B partition, which I understand in broad terms but not in relation to a custom ROM.
With my older devices flashing TWRP, Gapps, Magisk & ROM is simple. The installation instructions for this ROM make no mention of the A/B partitions. Can someone please clarify what I need to beware of in wiping and installing this ROM? The instructions look identical to the Nexus 5/6, but surely the A/B must add complications...?

Ah, silence. Does this mean it's a stupid question?
From watching various Youtube videos it looks as if TWRP is smart enough to install all updates into the inactive partition, which would pretty well answer my question. Is this correct?

Downloiad your stuff for flashing and put it on a otg usb stick.

format data.
reboot twrp
flash rom
flash twrp installer
reboot twrp
flash gapps
flash twrp installer
reboot twrp
flash magisk
flash twrp installer
reboot system.
