I don't have much to complain about. Just a really good base rom with multiple functions and auto updates.

But I do have some wishes that Linage could implement, like for example:

1. When switching with the button to Silent, Vibrate, sound, a notification message pop up when switching.

2. Wireguard implementation into kernel. I already know that Android 12 will have some implementation for Wireguard by Google, but honestly, who trusts Google?

3. Change the stance on spoofing, why not implement SafetyNet compliance into the rom itself? My only guess is the heat from Google maybe.

4. Why the stance on root being something optional? Most people unlocking their bootloader probably wants root? I can't really understand why you wouldn't. And if you know how to unlock your bootloader, and install a custom rom, you probably know how to protect yourself from bad actors too while being rooted... Atleast let it be an option in the rom itself that can be activated.

5. Lockscreen customisation, including AOD, missing in action.

Anyway, enaugh of my words, a lovely rom overall, stable, secure, fast.

Thanks.

Agree with all points. Can I ask you how you upgrade rom while keeping twrp and magisk?

I don't know if this will directly help you, since I use magisk but not TWRP. To keep magisk when upgrading, I follow the instructions at https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/ota.html under "Devices with A/B partitions". Basically: download and install the OTA update, but don't reboot. Instead, go into the magisk app, and use "install to inactive slot", and then reboot from there.

First of all: the ROM works perfect for me.
Just one notice...
When I boot into recovery, first line I read after enabling adb and update apply from adb is:
E:recvmsg failed (No buffer space available)
But recovery works fine so.

Hey all. This is a great ROM, but seems to have a showstopper that I haven't seen mentioned here yet.

For some reason when using the phone speakers to watch Youtube videos (in the app or in the browser) the volume wildly fluctuates as if there is a slow release audio compressor somehow in the signal path. I've disabled and even removed AudioFX to no avail. Not sure if it's related, but the maximum volume I can achieve with this ROM borders on insane as to how low on the slider I have to have it for normal use.

Anyone else seeing this issue and know of a possible troubleshooting angle? I'd hate to have to revert to stock because everything else about this ROM is perfect.

I'm thinking of installing this rom since oxygenOS is giving me problems, but I need to know something before I try it.
- Does it have support for 5G?
- Does it have support for vowifi/volte?
- Does it have support for widevine L1?
- Do you have DT2W?

I have a question regarding this ROM, VoLTE does not work on my Oneplus 8t on Oxygen OS 11 in my country. I had to use the PDC tool to edit the modem to get VoLTE to work. Will it work on Lineage OS or I have to do the PDC fix again? I wonder also if I can do the PDC fix on Lineage OS. Can anybody please confirm?

- As far as I know 5G is supported, but I haven't used it so far. It could be selected as preferred network type so it should work.
- VoWifi and VoLTE works in my case in Germany.
- No clue about widevine. Do you have any suggestions, how to test it?
- Double tap to wake works fine.

Widevine can be checked with an app called DRM info which is on Google Play. You can also check it in the Netflix app settings.

I haven't used OxygenOS so I have no comparison. But no notable bugs for my use cases. I've read somewhere that the camera could not use its full potential but I don't take photos that much so I can't assess that.

I have finally tested the ROM and it works fine (the 5G remains to be tested), but it has a bug that I don't know how to solve. I use 2 sim but the second sim is disabled. When I restart the phone both sims are activated, it does not save the configuration.

I borrowed a second SIM with a 5G plan and it works fine with this ROM.

I also can reproduce your issue with LOS not remembering the activation status of the SIM. But I'm not sure if it's a bug. Maybe it is intended to read all SIMs from scratch after booting.

Yea this is interesting. Maybe we can try to pinpoint things we have in common. What is your 8T device model, firmware model and version, etc? I downgraded my YouTube version to the last v16 version and it seems to have helped somewhat, although it's not completely gone (and this could be placebo effect, I'm not sure).

I tried rewinding and replaying the video/audio when these drops/boosts occur, and it seems like it is occurring with the same pattern each listen, so I don't think this is some semi-random effect of another installed app interfering with the audio.
I'm currently on a KB2000 on 11.0.13.13.KB05AA, but I wouldn't pay too much attention to that since this has been an issue for me since this ROM was first released. I've been back to it 3 times in the hope the issue was magically fixed, but alas no. So long story short, it's not firmware specific.

It's also not Youtube specific for me, so I'm convinced you're right about the placebo effect. If I download a video from Youtube (using an external program) I experience the exact same issue when playing that video in VLC (or MXPlayer) and for me that points to something in the audio signal path. It's definitely something related to either auto-volume leveling or audio compression. Something designed to prevent sudden loud noises that's overcompensating.

But yeah, it is really annoying and a dealbreaker for me. It's such a hassle to return to stock that I'm not going down the road of installing this again. Just wanted to add a +1 to your comment in the hope it helped it get noticed.

Don't try Lineage Microg or CalyxOS builds either in the hope it'll be better-- They have the exact same issue. Just giving you a heads-up there.
i had the same problem. I read somewhere that Dynamic Range Control could couse these issues and confirmed that it was active on the build for oneplus 8t. After i flashed this : https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Alt-Repo/drc-remover which set drc to disabled, my issues with speaker volume is gone!

Are you saying some (or all?) OOS12 firmware image files can still be used to be applied as upgrade? That would be great (but perhaps needs some documentation).
I don't think you really understand what you're talking about...
    3
@LuK1337 : I wonder : OOS 12 changed partition layout ... is LOS for 1+8T going to do so as well? I ask because 1+8T has some bright years and upgrades to come, so I wonder how LOS will keep up to date with specific OOS firmware partitions. Thanks for your amazing work.
GPT is still the same and super partition layout doesn't matter.
    3
I had not checked layout but obviously the block devices are the ones to upgrade and I see, for example, imagefv.img 11.0.13.13.KB05BA has size 20480 and imagefv.img KB2003_11.C.16 has size 1191936 so I am hesitant to fastboot flash a bigger one ...
Let's just defer that discussion until builds that require Android 12 firmware are out, otherwise you'll just hurt yourself.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions :
    Downloads :
    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

    What is your--
    LineageOS version:
    LineageOS Download url:

How do you do backups? What would be a good way to keep backups if I wanted to flash this ROM on a semi daily basis? I noticed after flashing the ROM it asks if I want to restore from a backup.

Another observation as I flashed the GMS version last night is there was no gallery app. Maybe this is normal.

I would suggest Swift Backup. Was a titanium user, but I find Swift Backup to be better performing on Android 11.
