hmm, so after reading through all of this thread I am still a bit confused about firmware.
Do I need to update the firmware if upgrading from Los19 to Los20?
There is no mention of it in the official documentation so I will assume not.
I just need to flash the zip - yes?
I am updating a friends phone in 12 hours, so if somebody could confirm before then it would be appreciated. I do not want to mess up her phone.
Thanks!
I would advice against upgrading (for now) until the 'binder' bug is fixed. Unless you want an unhappy friend.

Hi. I installed the 20230208 build. Everything that I have tested is great. The gaming experience is better than the stock OOS 13. Aspahalt 9 runs at butter smooth 60 FPS with no frame drops, while on stock OOS 13, it would often drop to 50, even to 40 sometimes. However, I have noticed battery drain to be slighlty higher than on stock OOS 13.

Apart from that, I'm facing a weird issue with safety net. I have rooted with Magisk v25.2 with the usual way (patch boot.img; boot it from bootloader; then permanent root from Magisk app's direct install method). I have enabled Zygisk, and configured DenyList. I have installed Universal SafetyNet Fix. Now the issue is when I test from YASNAC (or other SafetyNet test app), it fails at first (Basic Integrity Pass; CTS Fail). Then if I wait for about 30 seconds, and test again, it passes. Then after some time like 30 minutes or later, I test again, and it fails, then passes after a couple of tries in about 30 seconds, and will keep passing. This just keeps happening. On my Playstore, it first showed Device Not Certified. But I cleared app data for Store. Ran the YASNAC test till it started passing, then ran Play Store, and it would now show certified. Any ideas about this weird behaviour of safetynet?

It's a known issue for the past days. Follow that thread...

Yesterday's build should have fixed the issue. If it has not, do send us a logcat.
Yesterday's build = build 0212 ? ... because build 0214 is for lemonadep not lemonade.

Please note that my previous post and the attached logcat were posted after testing the latest version (lineage-20.0-20230212-nightly-lemonade-signed.zip).
Enclosed two new logcats.
Have a nice day and thanks for taking a look.

PS : the bug also persists with lemonadep (build 0214) ... see this post.

Thanks for the info. But does it mean for us? In what situations do we face these issues?
For example :
- No profile picture in many Gapps (not all though)
- Google Play "manage" window is not open-able as long as no profile picture is present
- Some games load infinitely until GMS is restarted
- Some games just disconnect the connected google account but continue working
- ...

Workarounds: Force close Google Play services, reboot the device ...

This issue leads to many "FAILED BINDER TRANSACTION" and/or "transaction failed" in logcats.

The previous fixes must have corrected a lot of stuff but the bug persists and still needs to be fixed... to be definitively removed.

Note: the bug occurs on lemonade and lemonadep (please read the previous posts on this thread or on the thread dedicated to lemonadep).

@Eric_Lev Thanks for explaining. Yes, that's what I noticed too but didn't know it was known as binder bug. I thought it was related to Google servers, or maybe the Universal SafetyNet Fix module. Probabale that's why the SafetyNet fails when checked from YASNAC and then after 30 or so seconds, it passes.

Uhm, all links to firmware on https://lineageosroms.com/lemonade/ are either "not found" or "403 forbidden".
This is not the official site. And all the builds there are so outdated.

The official link is in the first post. Here it is again:

Secondly, separate firmware flashing is not needed anymore. The latest builds' ROM zips include the firmware. Just flash the boot.img, vendor_boot.img, dtbo.img from bootloader. Then boot to recovery. Wipe data/factory reset. Then sideload ROM zip. After that, if you want to install GApps as well, then you MUST select reboot to recovery, then sideload GApps zip.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS GitHub repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Instructions:

    Reporting Bugs:
    • DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed.
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Both OP9 and OP9Pro builds have been temporarily halted because of the binder issue. Builds will resume once it is fixed.

Is this an official bug report to lineage? Because I really don't think Androifrk looks at thread. Or he started thread unofficial way back when and it went official. Not sure . Really wanna daily drive this though. Thought maybe would be fixed in 3/12 . I also though it was kernel side issue ,flashing latest blu_spark does not fix issue . Just really used to feature from running stock.
I am aware of this issue and am looking into it. I've just been busy with other things.

For now, just use single tap, since the kernel currently reports double tap as two single taps instead.

Installing LineageOS 20 via the official guide without any problem on my OnePlus 9 (LE2115) ... and everything works like a charm ... OP9/LOS20 is my daily driver !

My setup : latest build + MindTheGapps + ih8sn (to bypass Safetynet attestation without Magisk - see screenshots)
