@ripee how did you flash the los 16 rom?
I tried offical twrp and philz touch but none do work properly.
In twrp it outputs a weird error message as it does with any rom i tested so far and philz reports me "this package is for i9305, .... this is " "
Or "failed to patch system image if i try to repack the zip with the installer scripts from 14.1

Which recovery should i use?

"this package is for i9305, .... this is " " is caused by the rom, in that its assert isn't properly reporting exactly what variant you have. As the i9305 sources are for i9305 only, this is yet another thing that needs work.

Hi, I'm playing Pokemon Go on this firmware. After some time of playing my phone is getting very hot and touchscreen is unresponsive. Can I change something to get rid of it? For example CPU clock speed, governor or maybe kernel? Thanks

Hi, those who had problems with errors during the flash of the ROM can follow this guide:
1) Use TWRP 3.0.2-1
2) Unzip the lineage archive OS 14.1 and flash the boot.img file contained within.
3) Restart, the phone will remain locked to the samung start screen (wait a minute or more and then turn off)
4) Flash lineage os 14.1

No sim / sim error / no network / libsec /
After some hours of cursing and late sleep, 3 stock rom flashes, and some more flashes. It works so far with stacking previous 2018 version and then proceeding with the next steps. Seems faster than the stock :good:

Hi, I found a fix that worked for my i9305. So, I had the same problem of sim card not detected with other versions than the one that

lineage-14.1-20180624-UNOFFICIAL-i9305.zip

so, what I ended up doing, was flashing that zip, and after flashing that zip, I did a factory restart and flashed the latest that is lineage-14.1-20190717-UNOFFICIAL-i9305.zip

so, after flashing the latest zip, I flashed gapps, simsupport, magisk and everything is working normally.

I originally ended up in the sim not recognised error after trying to update today my lineage os version date to 17.7.2019 from 28.5.2019

after flashing almost every version I had, even ones that I had backuped (which worked confirmed in the past), I was unable to get the sim card to show.

So repeating myself again:

install lineage-14.1-20180624-UNOFFICIAL-i9305.zip
after that , boot into it (to welcome screen), then boot into twrp and do factory reset.
Then install the desired lineage os version, magisk, sim support and gapps.

please pm me if you are not able to understand this as English is not my first language.

kernel which supports Linux 3.8

I use unofficial LOS 14.1 everythings works fine.
Can also bypass saftynet.
But can't magiskhide enable get this error:

Your kernel doesn't support mount namespace", your device has a Linux kernel that is to old. The Linux kernel version has to be at least 3.8

So I need kernel which supports Linux 3.8.

Hey people, where can i find "sim_support" zip , mentioned here

It works!

Thank you so much for that great builds! It took me three days to install Lineage on my S3 i9305 and i would sure have given up if it had not run so nice on my S4 mini i9195.

My mistake was to directly switch from bootloader to recovery after installing the stock ROM and TWRP. Obviously it is essential to first boot the stock ROM once!

So here is what was finally working for me, step by step:

1) Install TWRP:

TWRP 3.2.3-0 fails installing .zips here, 3.0.2-1 is fine.
https://dl.twrp.me/i9305/twrp-3.0.2-1-i9305.img.html

- Boot to bootloader (Power, Volume Down, Home)

As I'm running linux on my PC, I'm using heimdall for flashing:

- sudo heimdall flash --no-reboot --RECOVERY twrp-3.0.2-1-i9305.img

2) For a clean start, wipe everything in TWRP first:

- Boot to TWRP (Power, Volume Up, Home)

- Format data

- Mount everything but EFS and MicroSD, including System, not read-only

- Advanced wipe: Wipe everything but MicroSD card

- Reboot to download

3) Install stock ROM:

I found the current stock ROM here:
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=GT-I9195&rpp=15&v=KitKat(Android+4.4.2)&order=date&dir=desc&exact=1

At least for my country (Germany, DBT) the appropriate modem file ...UFOA1 is included!

- Boot to bootloader

- sudo heimdall flash --no-reboot --BOOTLOADER sboot.bin --TZSW tz.img --BOOT boot.img --TOMBSTONES tombstones.img --CACHE cache.img --RADIO modem.bin --RECOVERY recovery.img --SYSTEM system.img --HIDDEN hidden.img

4) Boot the stock Android!

Baseband did not work for me as long as I directly continued without booting Android.
So let Android boot until it says welcome (no need to continue with the initial setup).

5) Install TWRP again

- Boot to bootloader

- sudo heimdall flash --no-reboot --RECOVERY twrp-3.0.2-1-i9305.img

6) Install files in TWRP:

- Boot to TWRP

- Copy files to external SD-Card:

LineageOS from http://buildyourownandroid.selfhost.eu/smartphone/daily-builds/
Open Gapps from https://opengapps.org/ (ARM, 7.1, pico)
system(sim_support).zip from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78193167&postcount=800
su (arm) 14.1 from https://download.lineageos.org/extras

- Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik

- Install all the four files in the order given above

The installation runs fine besides two "E:unknown command [log]" messages.

7) Reboot to system, everything is working fine.
system(sim_support).zip from above post points to nowhere...

edit: found it here https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/backlog/-/issues/1286#note_44445

Which boot.img is this ?

For all whose device restarts unexpectedly! + no downloads possible with firefox!

Hello,
i installed the unofficial daily build LineageOS 14.1 for the GT-I9305 from the first page of this post. The installation was successful. (If you have an original firmware flash again the original firmware with odin or heimdall, otherwise your startup screen will hang).

But the system did not run stable. After the device started, there were unexpected reboots. The device was not usable like that. Also the sim card was not recognized.

Here is the solution: After installing LineageOS, install this zip file (system(sim_support).zip): https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/backlog/-/issues/1286#note_44445. After that lineageOS runs stable.

Here is a solution for those who have the problem with Firefox that the downloads fail:
1. install firefox
2. go to the settings in lineageos
3 apps and permissions
4 firefox
5 memory
6 clear memory
7 back to permissions
8 give firefox permission to use memory
9 downloads work

Maybe it will help someone. I had problem with "patching system uncoditionally" stuck for entire night (tried 2 times). It helped when I installed older version of TWRP:
twrp-3.5.0_9-0-i9305.img
instead

Downloaded from TWRP site: https://dl.twrp.me/i9305/
I don't know why i9305 model is not available on Search on twrp site.

@bilatche - for me it's fast, to be honest faster than on my second, newer Xiaomi phone.
