Anyone figure out build.prop edits that will allow the Nexus 9 to play 1440p YouTube videos again? My maximum resolution option is 1080p. Ivebtried Vanced YouTube, but that didn't work.
Schrödinger's tablet... LoLHi,
I have created a new profile for my better half a couple days back. Strangely enough, when I go to google play store with her profile, it says device is not play protect certified (or rather does not say anything about certification) whereas the device is certified when I check under my profile. The google play store version is the same on both profiles, 16.6.26-all. No certification means that I had to download an ancient version of netflix app for example.
Any ideas how the same tablet can be both certified and not at the same time and how to resolve this Schrödinger's tablet situation? Thanks!
I'm not using magisk as far as I know. Play Protect has worked for the first account without needing any extra actions.Schrödinger's tablet... LoL
Are you using magisk? You may have to enable it for other users. In magisk settings for your main account. Not completely sure, I haven't used a 2nd account on mine in a long time.
Hey, awesome! I have always wanted to try my tablet without forceencrypt. I would have to do a complete wipe and fresh install for it to be not encrypted anymore though, right?IMPORTANT NOTE: I disabled forceencrypt. So this rom will no longer automatically encrypt the data partition if it's not encrypted.
no. just format data.Hey, awesome! I have always wanted to try my tablet without forceencrypt. I would have to do a complete wipe and fresh install for it to be not encrypted anymore though, right?
This build is the first one, that really works on this device!!!!New builds available with September security patches :good:
IMPORTANT NOTE: I disabled forceencrypt. So this rom will no longer automatically encrypt the data partition if it's not encrypted.

Thanks, works perfectly! The tablet feels significantly more responsive without forceencrypt.no. just format data.
if you want to switch without losing anything, do a twrp backup with just data selected. then copy all your stuff in /sdcard to a pc. format data. copy everything back to tablet. then in twrp restore the data backup you made.
- if you want to get rid of su, just flash the su addon remover in first post.Is it possible to make this build to pass RootBeer (github) checks? Some streaming services have started to use RootBeer to check for root access and they won't start.
Triggers:
- /usr/bin/su
- build.prop: test-keys strings
- build.prop: userdeubg strings
This is probably too much to ask, but I mainly use this tablet to media and reading so maybe others might have seen this issue as well. Anyway consider it, I know some people will use su so probably this idea isn't best suited for everyone but just throwing it out there.
Unencrypted nexus booting up as writing this. Thanks for the update and keeping this device alive!
It's not everything updated. The vendor partition is still that by Google in 2017.Holy bazingas, Batman! A ROM with 2019 security updates on this long forgotten (by Google) Nexus?!
It must be christmas!![]()
yes.Are you still using the vendor img from post #2 (I flashed to test since stock is still complaining)? Does your ROM have the same issue too?
