The latest (October 2019) non-LTE firmware completely borked my device: on reboot the screen went into a rainbow and the speakers squealed. Attempting to roll back to September...

EDIT: It appears to have been a battery problem, strike the above warning

That's probably not the ROM. Likely your battery or battery connection. Usually happens below 40% battery charge.
Charge it fully then try booting up again. If it works fine, disconnect and clean battery connection. Re connect and boot up.
Some have even had to replace the battery.

I panicked and wiped everything but, after a good charge overnight and reflash this morning, it appears to be booting. Thank you for the tip!

Just a FYI - never had this problem for quite some time after initially buying the tablet. Then similar behavior occurred almost daily. Didn't happen with full battery but after some use, this would happen.

Ended up removing back cover then disconnecting the battery from the motherboard (just the cable, I didn't take the battery out. I then let it sit long enough for the capacitors to discharge. That was a few minutes at least. Then I put it back together and haven't had this problem since - been a couple of years.

Thank you so much for keeping this device alive and kicking. Have been using this build for the past few months without any problems. Now installed this Oct release and will report any issues but so far so good. Thanks again!!!

Tried different browsers but the LTE version cannot be downloaded as you always get "oops no mirrors found" on android filehost. Could you please check this file?
EDIT:
Seemed to be a temporary issue on android filehost. It's now working. Thanks for your amazing dedication to the good old Nexus 9!

Thanks RL. As much as I try to convince myself to replace my old N9 (ipad??), the beautiful display and alright speed of the device keeps me using it.

I think, that video is h265-coded and the Nexus 9 can not decode this codec. Normally decoding of videos is made by the graphics adapter - that is: by hardware ! And if the hardware is old ...
