@kmandel, the following also covers this as a general instruction:I know there are several postings on this, I just can't tell whats up to date. I have read
http://droidlessons.com/how-to-upgrade-from-cyanogenmod-to-lineage-os/ Is this still correct modulo finding an experimental version? Can someone help with that? Also exactly what GAPPS do I want? I seem to remember that when I went to CM I had to find a very small one to fit into the limited memory on Nexus 4. A link would help.
I apologize if I was out of line with my previous post. The experimental builds are no longer available, they were only for a short time when LineageOS started. The only official (and better) way to transit from CM13 is to start clean by wiping all partitions and installing the latest LOS14.1 build together with open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-xxx, of course you lose all data and apps so you should backup first. On my first install I tried nano GApps, it worked but system partition was nearly full so I restarted with pico. Instructions here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/mako/install Link to GApps arm 7.1 pico: http://opengapps.org/?api=7.1&variant=pico And be sure to use a current TWRP (3.1.1 was released today for mako)
It will replace the lineage kernelIf i apply hellspawn kernel, this will replace current lineageos kernel or this will only patch original kernel ?
This is an official release see screenshotlineage-14.1-20170525-nightly-mako-signed.zip
Yep, many thanks to Randy McCaskill.lineage-14.1-20170525-nightly-mako-signed.zip
How did you manage that? I also changed my battery recently but the latest LOS build is eating my battery much faster compared to PureNexus. Did you flash gapps and/or custom kernel?lineage-14.1-20170525-nightly-mako is working great. I've also change my battery, near 48hr without charge !
