Is this actually a good battery result?
Nope... I guess this is. But notice I don't use Instagram. Hell, I don't even have it installed. Plus... I'm not running Lineage OS yet!

First build is non treble. Expect treble build on coming Monday. Please note that you have to use treble supported TWRP for flashing.

Can I keep Treble supported TWRP for flashing whatever I want in spite of not being 64 bit stuff? Or is it just intended for LOS usage?

NavBar and Fingerprint gestures gone in 20181015

The option to enable the virtual buttons in navbar no longer exist?

Yeah I can confirm after flashing lineage-15.1-20181015 on brand new Z2 Play Dual from OEM ROM that NavBar menu options and Fingerprint gestures are gone. Thus I reverted to lineage-15.1-20180917 until I can see that these two are fixed and reimplemented.

You can bring back the nav keys by adding "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" to build.prop. I used adb on a PC to pull the file and push the edited version back to the phone, but there should be ways to do it directly on the phone as well.

This doesn't disable fingerprint gestures, but personally I'm not bothered.

you might flash Magisk and then edit build.prop with editor of your choice, or you could use a Magisk Modul to bring back the Navbar.

cheers

Thanks for the information. I'm curious if it was it technically necessary to remove the option from the menu, it's a user friendly and safe option to avoid having to go to edit build.prop right? I could not see option to enable Fingerprint unlock and navigation nor physical home button during my fresh install 181015 of throughout setup.

Is it possible and good to do it with the following guides using the ADB method even if I have rooted my phone and I can allow ADB to use root too?

I used the ADB method and it worked fine. Root is not relevant, because with this method you're booting your phone to recovery, not to the Android OS. If you managed to get TWRP and LineageOS on your phone, then you can also handle this.

any one using gcam mod in lineage os?

yes.. download it here
gcam app settings

:)

ps: i can't make portrait work for back cam and u can adjust "correction of auto-expose HDR+" and "HDR+ parameters" under B-S-G MOD settings to better fit your needs, but it will change capture speed and time to process HDR+..

ps2: didn't test but u probably can use other models under B-S-G Mod settings to change HDR+ algorithm but don't know if it will work. i'm sure Pixel XL ou Pixel II/Pixel II XL have a better HDR+ mode than Nexus 6P

     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    Installation

    • Unlock your bootloader if you haven't done so already

    Bugs
    • You tell me

    Reporting bugs
    • DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel
    • DO NOT report bugs if you've modifies system files
    • DO NOT report bugs if you've installed xposed and/or other mods
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
      Code:
      adb logcat > logcat.txt
      Code:
      adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt
    • If it is a random reboot, grab kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
      Code:
      adb shell cat /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

    Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues or bugs reported in the lastest 5 pages of this thread. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.
    Code:
    Phone Informations
    * LineageOS version
    * Gapps version
    What you did:
    * Wipe data: y/n
    * Upgrade from previous official cm build: y/n
    * Restore with titanium backup: y/n
    You're using (if yes write which one) :
    * Task killer
    * Phone cleaner / Battery enhancer apps
    * Non-stock kernel
    * Modified kernel settings
    * Other mods
    Bug info:
    * Last version it worked on
    * Repro steps

    F.A.Q.
    • ROOT! ROOT! Give me root or i'll die!!! Where root is???
      First of all DO NOT flash any SuperSu/SuperUser/SuperMan zip package to get root. Go to Settings>Developement Settings>Root access and select "Apps Only"
    • Why no nightly today?
      Build failed. Check again tomorrow
    • When do I have to wipe data?
      You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom or migrating to Snapshot branch from Nightly and vice versa. You don't need to wipe data when you update in the same release channe (this applies to 13.0 -> 14.1 upgrades too)
    • Will you add <insert awesome feature here>?
      I won't. If you write it, submit a commit to gerrit, where it will be reviewed.

    The LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!
