Just did OTA from the 25th Sep build to the 5th Jan, gapps are crashing.

yes they did crash nd say that no play services were installed..
but flash latest gapps over it after flashing the rom , it solves the issues..

you may be signed out of Google acc but your data exists...
so sign in again !
also after flashing gapps again ... some apps need to be uninstalled and reinstalled ...

after doing everything goes smoothly !

can you say what kind of apps specifically need to be reinstalled? only the google ones?

Yeah only the Google ones ! or those who require gms to work .. ( these apps will crash ... reinstalling them resolves the issue)

It should be priority to find out root cause why gapps are often broken after OTA updates as it also happened to me multiple times in past.
That is not normal that users have to reinstall gapps and other apps each time when something blows up during update processs.

Jasper Kernel has better battery backup even when not rooted and without using any Kernel Aduitor !

it will give some popup on each reboot saying some mismatch error or internal problem but is not an issue and can be safely neglected !

Not great performance while playing heavy games like pubg , also screen flickering issue is present.

if you want better battery backup than stock, then try Jasper kernel + Naptime app


Currently i am on Chimera kernel..

i would suggest chimera over jasper as it has no bugs present as mentioned above as with jasper
... has more customisation options
.. comes with double tap to wake enabled by default !

and processsor is underclocked by default to 1.2 ghz with using schedutil as governor which is good !

I installed the fresh gapps, seems to work. Didn't have to reinstall anything or login again. Thanks!
The only problem is that my device was encrypted and it required a pin to start up. Now it does not. Settings entry says the phone is still encrypted.

upd: all apps permissions were reset, Gcam, Shazam and Xodo are crashing.

yes the LOS 14 was great ??

it is good as it is ..but if. you are an advanced user want to make best use of available resources u can apps like Kernel Aduitor, L Speed, and Spectrum !
These all apps require root

It's your personal choice. If you miss Miui then switch other update it w/ new "construction" 15.1. Same dev has a unofficial 16.1 in case you want pie.
