My j700h boot up screen doesn't appear nicely.
I don't get the nice Lineage animation?
Am I the only one?
Is it because maybe my decide wasn't on the latest android 6.0.1
You need to have been running the latest stock version before you install LineageOS.

An outdated bootloader will cause issues with RIL and other hardware.

Kind regards,
Danny

I installed this rom only because of live caption feature!
but it didn't have live caption in the settings to enable. also camera quality was aweful. I didn't like android 10 theme too!
but it can be only good for people who want to have higher android version for more apps to install otherwise I think it doesn't worth

I'm still having a strange sort of corrupted boot animation.
Does anyone know a solution to this issue.
I have installed latest rom from samobile for j700h south africa.
I'm going to try the alternative version now Xfa and xfe respectively.
It's not a big deal
But I would appreciate it
Cheers

Another issue is the official lineage rom download is spewing out an error about security vulnerability.
Do you mean the vendor security patch being out of date? That is just the last time Samsung updated their stock security level. It's nothing to worry about, you would have a worse level on stock.

The bootloader images are odd, not seen that before. Have you ever had the display replaced?

Kind regards,
Danny

what is the point of Gapps? I installed without it and had much more space. it also had google play store that I could download apps from there so why should I occupy the internal storage with google apps when I can download necessary ones myself from google play store?

Did anyone use 18.1 Rom (Android 11) version for j700 phones?
if yes can you please check if Live Caption is available for it and does it work or not?
I checked on 17.1 and it wasn't on the menu.
I want to use 18.1 Rom only if Live Caption supported. so please help me about it
Thanks

Without gapps you do not get the play store? Unless you installed a ROM that integrates gapps already.

Danny

    The bootloader images are strange.
I bought the device second hand.
The display is perfect though when in the OS
I will live with my unique j700h.
    Thanks for your help Danwood76

With regards to the error message
On my Internet browser. On the j700h lineage builds download page.
    The link says insecure connection.
It's all fine here. Maybe your browser is old and doesn't trust Lets Encrypt certificates?

LineageOS 17.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. This is a port by me for the Samsung Galaxy J7 2015 and is based on the great work of @danwood76 and @Stricted.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS GitHub repository. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit the project's Gerrit page. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Code:
    /*
    * Your warranty is now void.
    *
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
    *
    */

There was a time that i thought Nougat and Oreo roms was the end of the line for J7 15, and then we had the really nice surprise of having Los pie, and now Android 10!
Thanks for your efforts Dario! :D

LineageOS 17.1 (official) is out for J7 2015

    Download: https://download.lineageos.org/j7elte

Don't upgrade by a dirty flash without flashing this zip to change build fingerprints before (otherwise you will face a bootloop). Thanks to danwood76 for that. If you flash the official build cleanly you don't need the migration zip.

    Migration zip: https://mega.nz/file/jIxjzKRK#qO68cJ_CTGFLBIkRBQZSsvHWIVk8vzd4etQKt80xsUk

NOTE: You can't upgrade from the built in OTA updater if you are on an unofficial build. You need to flash a build from https://download.lineageos.org/j7elte first.

Google Drive servers only allow a limited amount of people to download a file. I might switch to MEGA soon. I also have found a fix for video camera which will be included in the next update.
