Has anyone figured out how to fix the low call volume on Lineage 17.? I had everything installed and set up for several days but the call volume was horrible. Music was just fine, ringtone volume was good, notifications volume was good. But call volume just plain stinks. I tried several apps but they were no help, because master volume setting is locked at 5. As a 70 man with my hearing not what it used it was basically unusable. I ran into the same issues with the latest Havoc. So regretfully I am back on rooted stock.

I hear cricket's .
I hope someone figures it out. I'd love to be back on lineageos with my hotspot all working and my speaker phone.
I'm back on stock an honestly its not too bad.

Overall battery life and performance aren't bad at all. But the bloat was horrible until I used Titanium backup to freeze a lot of apps I don't use. That doesn't free up space but it does get them out of sight and off my app drawer. I also miss the advanced reboot feature that Lineage offers.

On my XT1965-3 all works perfect, speaker, microphone , wlan, hotspot, bluetooth, LTE and moto camera2.
My battery life is around 2 days with MicroG instead of Gapps, ScreenOnTime 4,5h and 25% remaining battery.
I flashed for 3 weeks the latest StockRom (QPWS30.61-21-11) and then goes to Lineage.

Thanks @Jleeblanch for your work

So you have no problems with low in-call volume?

What are the differences between the 1965-2 and 1965-3, and how would that make a difference in call volume? All of the searches I did come up with no differences other than their respective markets. Maybe it's just the perceptions of the users here?

Or it is importend which version from the stock rom do you have installed before.
in my case it was QPWS30.61-21-11 with the June Patches.
I had the same stock version on my phone, and I have had it since its initial release back in June (read my earlier posts about this issue). But I have not tried the 8/25 version of Lineage. The last version I tried was the 8/11 and it had the low call volume. Which version of Lineage do you have installed?

I am just a little leary to try again until I am certain the call volume is good. I have spent countless hours over the last 3 months trying various custom roms all based on ASOP and every one of them has low call volume. I didn't have this issue on Android 9 Pie or on my old Moto G5+. It's really quite frustrating.

Okay then. The only difference in what I installed was I installed opengapps Arm64 pico. I cannot see that making a difference with call volume. So I am going to go with it's a matter of perception. I am 70 years old and my hearing is not what it used to be. So for you the volume level may be just fine. But for me not so much. However I'm not totally convinced that is the case since there are many people complaining about the call volume and the difference between custom roms and stock is considerable.

One more quick question - Which region is your ROM from? Mine is RETLA.

Not yet, but I plan to finally switch to LOS on sunday, I will report back if I hear something... or not ;)
Well, against my better judgement I tried the 8/25 version of Lineage and still had crappy call volume. It doesn't matter whether I am on speaker, the phone or using earbuds. The call volume literally sucks. I am returning to stock rooted and staying there until I see more than a report of good call volume from one deluded user. :cyclops:

Hi! Can you please let me know if you managed to return to stock. I did it few times while ago without any issues and then tried out today without luck.
My phone is unlocked and I'm not able to flash any of the stock ROMs- always ending up with errors and so far I've no idea why.
Thanks in advance!

I also have low speaker volume in phone calls.

I just upgraded from V9:
first installed XT1965-2_LAKE_RETBR_10_QPWS30.61-21-11_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip, in it the speaker is great in phone calls.
Then installed lineage-17.1-20200825-recovery-lake.img. the speaker is good in YouTube under FireFox, but very low in phone calls.
I even installed the latest auto update (lineage-17.1-20200901) but it had no effect on the speaker phone.

I tried to edit vendor\etc\mixer_paths.xml
I don't relay know what to to there, but I changed
<path name="speaker-and-headphones">
<ctl name="HPOUT1 Digital Volume" id="0" value="98"/> -> to 128
<ctl name="HPOUT1 Digital Volume" id="1" value="98"/> -> to 128

this had no effect + after reboot the value change back to the default value, so surly there is another place for this edit

I haven't had any issues returning to stock, and have done so each time after trying several different custom roms. I always use fastboot and use the following steps:
fastboot getvar max-sparse-size
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin
fastboot flash dsp dspso.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system_b system_other.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash oem_b oem_other.img
fastboot erase carrier
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase ddr
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear

I also flash LAKE_QPWS30.61-21-11_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT1965-2-SUTEL-DS_CFC.xml
