after the update through the updater app, I cant export the update zip to storage. I want to extract the boot image to patch it through Magisk. Can I use the boot image from the previous build ?. ( I dont want to download the rom again )

I think if we are using the updater app we need a compatible recovery installed ( like the lineage recovery), otherwise you may need to dirty flash the update zip using twrp.
TWRP supports LineageOS OTA updates. I haven't updated yet, will do so soon and edit this post (I'm using TWRP). I've updated the 17.1 build of this ROM several times through the updater app with TWRP and never encountered problems.
Edit: I updated without any problems

    I didn't know that.
Are you using official twrp or this one ??

Guys I have seen a lot of guys are discussing about magisk. Actually magisk is not a important thing to make the rom to boot. Just flash lineage 18.1 zip and a11 gapps to upgrade from lineage 17.1.

If you really want magisk, flash it after first boot (best case).
and you can use latest magisk 22.0 . It works well.

and for update bootloops, You guys may be used someother recoveries which is not recommended. Follow the steps as per lineage wiki . (may be my twrp works well but I don't even recommend. just follow as per lineage wiki if you are a normal user)

I upgraded mine just fine using Dhina's TWRP then installed the 01-30 beta of OpernGAPPS Aroma.

I just noticed that the wallpapers are a bit zoomed in but back in LOS 17.1, the same wallpapers I used all perfectly fit the screen. The wallpapers I'm using are resized to 720x1520.

And another thing the window transition animation doesn't seem to change even if I change the values in Develop Options or in the Accessibility settings.

well. Thats 32MP AUX cam.So we can't make it work in custom roms since xiaomi made a lot of edits in cameraserver and all. Need to port miui aux cam to make it work. why can't we use cameraserver and all from stock? well no use, since we need miui aux cam port as well.
Other than that, it's actually better to have the native pixel binning works, which is why he has only 8MP resolution, it should have better low light quality compared 32MP without pixel binning.

The wallpaper zoom is not a bug, it's a feature in Android 11. If you notice closely, you'll see that the wallpaper zooms out when opening the app drawer or the notification shade, and zooms back in when returning to home. Special effects ;)

Mic not working in any music + voice recording app like Voloco. I have tried other apps too, normal voice recording apps work fine. Any solutions? Can someone test if Voloco is working on their phone?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Is this rom compatible with redmi y3?
Yes, the only difference between Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 is the front camera, and this ROM also has the camera blobs for Y3 front camera.

I'm just wondering if I can just upgrade to this by just flashing the zip file with TWRP? Because the steps on how to upgrade from the official guide is only for using adb sideload.
Yes to upgrade from 17.1 to 18.1, just flash the 18.1 zip, then the Android 11 GApps zip and then other zips (Magisk etc.) in TWRP. No wiping or deleting required. I did it this way
