I'm incredibly grateful for this ROM. I have this phone for about 5 years. In recent months it was progressively getting worse almost every day while being on the outdated official MIUI. GPS stopped working, important apps started to crash, and lags became frequent. I thought maybe the time came to get a new phone. But I knew this one is still a very capable one even after 5 years since release. So I decided to try Lineage. And oh boy, it's majestic! The phone is resurrected. It's now super snappy, and everything works 100% as if I just bought it! Even GPS, which I thought got broken, and surprisingly Google Pay as well even though it's a custom ROM. Plus TONS of new settings and features since my previous Android 8 are now available to me! Everything is just better (well, except the inconvenient recents, these were great in MIUI). I haven't noticed a single little issue since the installation 4 days ago. So now I plan to keep this machine for 5 more years as I have zero incentive to upgrade. It's a beast again! So thank you guys, I deeply appreciate your continued efforts to help people get their dying and "outdated" devices back to life, thus saving money and the environment. I'm fascinated to see you still actively updating this ROM even though it's an old phone by modern measures. Incredible, just incredible.

Glad to hear about this, I don't have mine anymore but it's awesome to see this phone working after 5 years (and not a lot of people even use this phone anymore)

Especially thanks for "long press of back button kills foreground app" in May 11, 2021 release.
    • Magisk 23.0 is available.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Fingerprint is still dead in the official build. If anyone who still owns this device wants to install LOS or upgrade, stick with version 17.1
Try replacing /vendor/overlay/org.lineageos.platform-res__auto_generated_rro_vendor.apk with one I just attached.
( info for time travelers: don't do that on build newer than 20210401 as these changes are already included there )

Thanks for fingerprint prompt ! Can't find ["back" button long press closes app] in "apps" section of evelopers options. Was it deleted by design ?
