Dear Sir,
actually I want to know what benefits will I get with a ROM having service mode for which I will not have in Lineage 15.1.
I saw the link leaved by you NLOS has this feature.
Substratum service mode - no need of root or ADB/Andromeda to install overlays. No need of rebooting to be able to apply overlays

Sent from my OnePlus 3T using XDA Labs

Everything you want/need to know on substratum/oms:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/substratum

I saw the link leaved by you NLOS has this feature.

I won't discuss other roms in this official los thread. That's why I linked the service mode roms list: click on the entry of the roms in the list - most of them have their own thread here on xda.

Are You using stock kernel? Or have you done any other modifications?

I was using the stock kernel when I saved that screenshot, but I usually use Caesium kernel.

All I do is to stop many apps from running in the background or use background data. For example, I want to receive email notifications, but don't need Google Maps or Uber to 1) start when I turn on my phone, 2) run in the background, 3) use that data to track me. I also use Telegram, but I don't want to receive notifications, so it only runs when I open the app.

I can't tell you which apps to block because we all have different needs and usage, but this works well for me. Little data wasted, less battery used, and a faster phone because there's less crap running.

You can do this by using privacy guard or (if rooted) an app like "App Ops" from the play store.

I flashed the Franco Kernel and now it seems better. Especially the standby akku drain over night has decreased...
But i'm also not 100 percent happy with the battery life in LOS 15.1
I can confirm that for me a custom kernel definitely reduces standby drain by a huge margin.

As I said earlier I get up to 4-5% phantom drain/hour without doing anything with the device and even after a fresh reboot. After 24 hours it would often be dead with 0 minutes sot. This drain isn't showing anywhere on the system or in BetterBatteryStats.

I tried Boeffla kernel and now I have almost no standby battery drain at all. I left my device at 84% and 10 hours later it is now at 80%. :)

It seems like there is something wrong with the stock kernel at least in my configuration (However I'm just using stock LOS with root, no Gapps, no mods, OB37/38 FW).

@anyone23 - I will try your configuration next (Boeffla kernel + OB37/38 FW). My OP3T actually ran out of battery today since the first time I have owned it, and it was fully charged yesterday. I wasn't even using the phone much at all today, just getting about a dozen text messages, and a 20 minute phone call. Pretty crazy to me that Oreo battery drain is so much worse with less apps than I had on Nougat, and Oreo was supposed to be better. I certainly didn't even see better battery than Nougat when I was running stock (but rooted) OOS 5.0.3 with no additional Google stuff or apps installed.

@dianlujitao

Something with the shims broke again:
https://pastebin.com/zdFnHKiS

I haven't checked if it was a merge or just something in my build yet. Anything with the camera/led as flashlight and Youtube are what I've seen break so far.

I've done a working build yesterday, synced at: Last repo sync: 16 Jun 2018, 10:58:16 CEST / 16 Jun 2018, 08:58:16 UTC. bionic hasn't chenged since then.

Hope this helps to narrow down your issue.

May I ask for a favor: if you've sorted out your issue and have a build with the newly merged livedisplay code and are on a device with a5 display (op3t), would you plwase check if the color modes are sticking through reboots? On my builds I can set i.e. "dynamic" and it sticks (aka the display is actually in dynamic mode), but the livedisplay settings window always jumps back to "standard" after a reboot. Thanx.

Fixed it, had something wrong with my local sources trying to figure out bionic stuff from the other day/messing with git.

Setting the color profile stays whatever I've chosen through a reboot for me on my a5 display. Tested it a handful of times here for you.

Well, that ended with failure: I tried loading Boeffla Kernel Beta 7, and the phone wouldn't boot - I just saw a black screen that I had to hard-reboot in order to get back to Recovery Mode. :(

It looks like Lord Boeffla's Beta 7 kernel, here, is for those on stock OOS 5.0.3 or later and not lineage 15.1. That might explain your lack of boot if you are not on stock firmware. See also, for lineage downloads... https://www.boeffla.de/index.php/downloads/current-kernel-versions

Apologies, it looks as though you meant this Beta 7 release... https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76795121&postcount=742 for lineage 15.1

Yeah just saw that. Can't wait for it.
I'm currently using the LWP+ app to disable the colour tint, which essentially leaves it as a dark tint, (which is what it always was on Android before Google lost their minds). It sounds like this is how it will be now, without the need for the extra app.

I have an unofficial RR ROM on my OP5 which now has options, like DU, to completely remove Tints altogether. While this is the better option in Recents, there are good reasons to have some dark tinting in the other places. (It can cause some UI conflicts otherwise).

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>

    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
     *
     */
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

    Important information:
This thread is for LineageOS 15.1 builds for OnePlus 3/3T. The following will not be supported here:
    • Custom kernels
    • Mods
    • Xposed

We don't support Xposed and any logcat which includes a Xposed module will be ignored. You're kindly invited to not report bugs if you:
    • Flashed a custom kernel
    • Installed or did mods from untrusted sources
    • Modified system files

    Tips:
    • SELinux works in permissive enforcing mode
    • You need at least OxygenOS 5.0 firmware, otherwise you'll get error 7 when installing the zip. Latest firmware is recommended.

    Installation:
First time flashing LineageOS 15.1 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
    1. Download the zip(s)
    2. Install a compatible Recovery (Latest official TWRP is highly recommended: https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplusthree.html)
    3. Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
    4. Wipe data/factory reset
    5. Flash LineageOS
    6. Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package
    7. Reboot

Is it possible for Project Treble to be implemented? I was thinking of using the extra space from /bt_firmware (1GB) for /vendor. Thanks.

Sent from my OnePlus 3T using XDA Labs

OnePlus is evaluating official treblized Oreo, now the key problem for them is how to make Treble migration through OTA, according to their engineers. We have a 1.5G unused partition which can be used as /vendor. I don't know if they'll eventually make the change, but as they have positive progress on that, personally I suggest not to do 3rd party experiments in case breaking compatibility with the (possible) incoming official Treble builds.

deep sleep issue will be fixed in the next weekly

New build is up. What you care most, video recording is fixed.

Oneplus already said they wont suport treble for oneplus 3 https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/join-our-oneplus-5t-ama-now.686679/page-9#post-17146313

so why not develop 3rd party suport for treble?

    You have 2017 news, I have 2018 news:p

btw full treble is impossible with the current camera driver, see https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...mmit/030ee5d902fdbabd85d827a8598a3fb7fe37fc7f for ref
