As my armani is currently running AICP Oreo 8.1 20180317 build and device is certified, hence, it's a Project Treble -supported device.

Therefore I tried to follow this:

https://www.xda-developers.com/flash-generic-system-image-project-treble-device/

and preferred to flash system-arm-aonly.img (Resurrection Remix) by XDA's phhusson
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939830734

However, as the size of image file ca. 900MB while our device has only 825MB System ROM, it's impossible to flash GSI (Generic System Image) on Redmi 1S :(
@hemantbeast, your enlightenment regarding this matters is highly appreciated.
Many thanks.

Have a great day.

No, you can't flash gsi on armani. Cause it's not project treble supported & not gonna be. Flashing gsi may cause bricking the device.

Running on oreo and getting device certified doesn't mean it is project treble supported.

Can't Say "Ok Google" Automatically

Hi, i'm using aicp_armani_n-12.1-NIGHTLY-20180107 and open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180401. The problem is my Redmi 1S can't respond ''Ok Google" speech automatically (microphone icon should be pressed first to be active). When i go to Settings > Google > Search > Sound > Voice Match, i can't enable 'Say "Ok Google" anytime' feature. Wonder if any solution about this problem...

Hey

There is a magisk module (check attachment) which can help u enabling voice match. But even after enabling and training voice match it doesn't seems working (like OK google detection from any screen etc). I really think it's (ok google detection) not support for our device . Any way try the module do report if every things works fine for u.

OK google detection works like charm on our little beast armani through this method by simply flashing it in twrp

Updated Magisk v16.3 to v16.4 on AICP 7.1.2 20180107 build.

https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v16.4/Magisk-v16.4.zip

It works flawlessly. :good: :good:
Magisk rooted device properly. SafetyNet checked:
ctsProfile:true (green); basicIntegrity:true (green)
Playing Pokemon Go v0.101.1 just fine, even on rooted device! Simply, hide PoGo on Magisk Manager and it works out of the box!

Enjoy your Monday!

PS
Reverted back to AICP 7.1.2 as my daily driver for quite sometimes.

Reason:
Spotify's songs stop randomly while being played on Oreo! (aicp_armani_o-13.1-UNOFFICIAL-20180317)

Two things: most people report that magisk has to be hidden for pogo to work, as you do a safetynet check while pogo is running yours is clearly not. And second for me the os incompatibility crashes only start after connecting to gps and encountering monsters.

Not claiming anything, just saying.

Is APN prob solved for this ROM.
Is it stable for daily use.
Will there be future updates for this ROM.

No brother, looking from the age of device and the current developments there is 99.9% sure chance that this aged little beast(armani) will not get any further updates..
Time has come for the aged little beast to get retired..
We should give a loads of thanks to the @hemantbeast:good: for supporting & keeping our device alive and running for so long.. :)

Yup I know bro. @hemantbeast thanks for all your support and works.
Can you confirm whether data is working in this ROM and is it considerable for someone who still user Redmi 1s as his primary device.

Temporary fix for APN issue in latest AICP 13.1 March build

There are some people like me who have to make changes to their APN settings to get mobile data working properly.
For example, I had to enable IPv6 protocol in my APN settings because my ISP (Airtel India) provides this facility but due to some reason, this is disabled in the inbuilt carrier settings that come with the ROM.

So, this is what I did :- (Root required)
  1. Turn on Airplane mode and wait for a few seconds.
  2. Using a root explorer and text editor, edit the file /data/user_de/0/com.android.providers.telephony/shared_prefs/preferred-full-apn.xml
For example, I changed the roaming protocol and protocol from the default IP to IPV4V6
  3. Once the editing is done, save and close the file. Make sure that the ownership and permissions of this file are same as others in the list, i.e. radio:radio (1001:1001) and rw-rw---- (660)
  4. Turn off airplane mode and test your data connection.

At this stage, it is possible that some people will get stuck in a 2G only network mode (I did).
Here's how to fix this:-
  1. Go to dialer and type *#*#4636#*#*
  2. In the Testing window, select Phone Information. You'll probably see that the network type is set to GSM only
  3. Turn off mobile data from QS and wait for a few seconds.
  4. Go back to Testing window and open Phone Information again. Now turn off the Mobile Radio Power switch and wait until the signal on both SIMs becomes zero. Now, set the network type to WCDMA preferred and after some time, turn on the Mobile Radio Power switch again.
  5. Turn on your mobile data and within a minute or two, you should see 3G or H or H+ (provided you have 3G signal in your area)

Please hit the thanks button if this helped you :D

    AICP
    Android Ice Cold Project

AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!

Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.

If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

    How to flash:

    • Make sure you have latest version of TWRP recovery and Firmware installed
    • Backup your current Rom through recovery.
    • Wipe System, Cache, Dalvik Cache, Data
    • Flash the ROM.zip and gapps.zip file.
    • Reboot system and setup the rom

    PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

This zip contains the bootloader and modem files from latest stable international release (MIUI8 V8.0.1.0 KitKat). I made it so users don't have to download and install the official zip, which also includes the rom. It's a flashable zip, so just install it from recovery and reboot (no wipes required).
