Not an issue

I am currently using magisk with aicp 12.1. But in magisk manager, it shows install option. root and magisk modules work fine. strange issue

Magisk Manager always shows both, the "Install" and "Uninstall" buttons. It doesn't mean that Magisk isn't working or something. It's not an issue basically. It's just a feature.
Tapping on the "Install" button will help you reinstall Magisk and the "Uninstall" button will help remove it. That's it.

So just relax and enjoy Magisk ;)

Thanks for the info. I thought it was some kind of weird issue.

Footej and other camera apps unable to access camera

I'm using AICP 13.1 March (latest) build.
Can someone please tell me why Footej and other camera apps (like Bacon camera, WhatsApp camera) cannot access the camera but the default camera app (Snap) can access it?

Footej Camera gives this error :-
Code:

06/14 09:17:19.180 - ViewFinderFragment: Critical Error : Critical Error Occurred! We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please send us an issue report in order to investigate this.
There is a problem with camera service, if problem persists please try restart your device.
I've already tried several things like reinstalling the camera apps, rebooting the phone, and also installing Footej as a system app. But nothing works.
I've had Footej Camera installed for the past week and I try it everyday but it has worked only once till date (last evening was the lucky time) but it suddenly crashed and then again started giving me this error. :(
Redmi 1S is still my daily driver and in fact my only phone, so if anyone can help, it'd be great.

I don't think we will be getting stable oreo rom now. It has been a long time when the oreo build was started and still it is in the development stage. So, i think Android N will be last stable os for our little beast.
Hats off to the developers who worked a lot to bring our device from android 4.3 to Android 7.1 (stable release only). Thanks a lot from all of us.
Still, we cant say, anything can happen... we might get stable android P rom also!!
Let's hope for the best!!
Good luck developers!!

Anyone who are interested can try compiling lineage 15.1 using window 10 for this device, till @hemantbeast @aniket.lamba @sskr builds final stable version .. for this 2014 device

My kind suggestion

Plz need this technical help:
I could not access home, recent buttons & only the upper row of quick settings accessible & in developer options "this feature not available for this user" appears. Plz let me know while using Nova Launcher trick
where can I get .SetUpWizardTestActivity or .SetUpWizardActivity bcz in the SetUpWizard only I can See only one option of .carrierActivity

Also i'm not able to get into TWRP recovery mode whilst holding Volume+ power off buttons together. Tried to use Quick Reboot app & then on launching it says your phone is not rooted. Till Y'day everything was perfect.

So help me with this
Can't Reboot into recovery mode as always getting back to system (Custom ROM).
Then, another issue of developer option not available for this user

First of all, check is the device properly rooted? Have you installed Magisk?
If yes then Try this out:

1. Just press power button bit longer until Power menu button popped up > Restart > Recovery. This menu button should appear when you have set Developer options > Advanced restart. Once it successfully booted into recovery mode > boot > recovery > wipe cache & dalvik > reboot system.
Should it fail, go to next step.

2. Go to Play Store > download and install Quick Reboot app > Open > set Recovery > Reboot recovery > boot recovery > wipe cache & dalvik > reboot system.

Hope it helps and wish you luck.

Have a great day!

@xu3sno thanks for quick reply but let me tell you the root option was there but somehow not working & how did I know that when I used Quickboot app which only works with rooted phone & it straightaway had thrown error you're phone not rooted & then I launched magisk "found out rooting is not simply there" biggest concern is now I Can not get into TWRP recovery mode by hard keys Vol+ & power off button holding together. As it always boots into system mode i.e. phone gets on with custom OS

Plz also note that I need to access Developer options in order to connect to pc called as USB debugging.

So tell me how can I be freed from "developer option not available for this user" error. I'm using Nova Launcher trick for flashing screen with this SetUpWizardTest Activity file which supposed to be under setup wizard tree

Thanks
Did you try just press power button a bit longer, as I said?

Use custom launcher, Trebuchet instead of Nova!

Did adb work? If you have installed adb, try cli:
adb reboot recovery

Last resort, reinstall recovery for armani, ( latest 3.2.3.0) using fastboot, follow this guide:

One quick question
Dont i need 'Usb debugging' option to toggle-in from the the phone itself i.e. Settings-> {developer options} before connecting to pc / flashboot
Because currently I can't , check the screenshot
Thanks again @xu3sno for quick response

From the screenshot that you have attached, it appears that you are not logged in as the phone's primary user (owner), you are using some sort of guest mode or some other user account. That is why so many things are not accessible. In Magisk, there is an option called "Multiuser mode" which is set by default to allow root access only to primary user (owner), that is why you are not getting root access.

I don't understand why you are not able to boot into TWRP recovery. Try this :-
  1. Poweroff the device somehow. (If not possible, pull out the battery and insert it again.)
  2. Hold the [Volume Down] and [Power] buttons together and the phone will boot into fastboot mode.
  3. Connect the phone to a computer that has working Fastboot files and the TWRP image for the phone.
  4. Now, in the CLI on the computer, enter this:-
    Code:
fastboot boot <path to twrp recovery image>
  5. If you successfully end up in recovery mode, try the suggestions given by @xu3sno
  6. Good luck!

Thanks @xu3sno & @ManSamVampire for your help.
With doing number of attempts to boot up in recovery mode , broke my Volume+ button whilst pressing it hard without case.
I tried changing multiuser mode but did not work
The "Developer Options is not available for this user" issue remains the same hence Can't change to 'Usb debugging' from phone itself.

But one positive thing happened that I can restart my phone into bootloader means in fast boot having bunny logo without using help of hard keys
Pressing Power Off -> tapped on Restart -> selected Bootloader
& It turned into Fast boot mode
The questions are here,
Without doing 'Usb debugging' permission from the phone, Can I connect to pc & then rest "flash IMG of TWRP using flashboot method firing ADB commands"?
How Can I Flash SetUpWizardTestActivity file for flashing to get rid Off guest mode as per @ManSamVampire
Plz answer @xu3sno & @ManSamVampire is no harm to install Nova Launcher once to find out SetUpWizardTestActivity file
Plz try in your phone &help me out
The steps are simple, plz use the link for guidance
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+PaulOBrien/posts/8EGNvpY9jQa

Just find out location under what tree you can see
I tried SetUpWizard option where only I can see
carrierActivity

AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!

Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.

If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

    How to flash:

    • Make sure you have latest version of TWRP recovery and Firmware installed
    • Backup your current Rom through recovery.
    • Wipe System, Cache, Dalvik Cache, Data
    • Flash the ROM.zip and gapps.zip file.
    • Reboot system and setup the rom

    PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!
