Hello, devs,
First off, it's a great ROM, I love it. I just managed to flash it on my OnePlus 9R.

I may have found a minor bug with GPS and its UI indicator.

The green UI indicator (for GPS) shows at the top right corner even if the GPS is disabled. This is particularly annoying since it constantly does its animation of appearing/getting smaller/disappearing.

I have the latest version of Kebab installed and no further modification has been made. Do let me know if I am just tripping out or if this is indeed a bug?

Best regards.
See post #361. Dev confirmed it will be fixed in the next build.

Hello, can someone help me out?

I was on latest OOS 11, and tried to follow the steps on main thread, but I was getting error when sideloading main ROM zip file, I was getting error "cannot read file ......."

I tried after that to sideload the zip file mentioned in some other answers "copy-partitions", this one runs, and installs, so after this step I tried again to sideload the rom, but got same error that cannot read file.

I then had to use msmtool to revert to stock OOS11, after unlocked bootloader and tried again, but same issue. I also tried running that installation.bat from another zip mentioned somewhere here, installation starts, copies and installs recovery.img, and after cmd says booting to fastboot, and <waiting for device>, and it just gets stuck there, while my device is indeed in fastboot mode

Any advice? not sure what Im doing wrong.

If someone can lay out clear steps, I would appreciate it. (Im not back on latest stock OOS11, with unlocked bootloader)

Thanks

**UPDATE**: I was using minimal adb, later installed flashtool, and it worked, it reconigzed the ROM zip file.

Guys sorry if it has been asked : any easy way to switch from PE 12 ROM to Nameless ? Many tasty features here 🥰
Not sure if you sorted this - I had the same desire as the PE ROM was awful for WiFi and WiFi Calling not picking up.

Anyways - this is the outline process I had to do - nearly bricked my phone so be careful!

You need to get back to stock from PE first. Download the A11 rom from oneplus.
Then I flashed TWRP recovery, boot to this, enable ADB and sideload the A11 One+ ROM
Boot and get past the initial setup screen
Then flash this ROM as per the instructions, you need to flash the Nameless ROM recovery - you can't use TWRP or PE recovery - follow the PE ones (bootloader is stull unlocked, but recovery is One+ default now).

Should be ok. You might need to sync the two recovery slots (?) as per the PE install page script.

Wi-Fi Calling icon next to the clock - I love seeing this as I rely in wifi calling as no signal at home. Had the icon for 3 days since flashing, rebooted today and wifi calling was off again.

Turned it back on in settings, icon is not there, but calls are being made over wifi. Rebooted and wifi calling is in the off state and needs to be manually turned on.

Any idea how to get the icon to show in the top bar?

Thanks

Location OFF toggle
All location had denied in setting

But still green light blink and says something is using location permission

I think it is a bug in 03/05/22 build
Most of the time or all the time there system app uses Location or may location permission got bypasse

Fix this bug
There is delay while locking phone

And waiting for more Fingerprint animations

Seems to be a general issue with this build of A12 and not this specific ROM. Pixel Experience also does it...

I dunno what would cause this, but going from OOS to this gave me a significant drop in signal. Usually have 5G in my house and neighborhood, now only have 4G unless I drive to a busier area. Housemate on the same network is still getting 5G so I know it's not a tower issue.

Hello,

I successfully flashed the ROM from OOS11, and was using it for a full day with no issues, on the next day, my phone was just 'locked' on the lock screen, basically it was always flickering the screen on and off, and I couldnt get past the lock screen to use the phone. Tried rebooting, and after boot, once I passed the initial lock screen after initial boot, it would re-lock itself, and screen would go back to flickering on and off, and wouldnt allow me to get past the lock screen.

I though it was maybe due to some magisk module, or perhaps the substratum customization I did, so performed another clean install, and didnt use substratum, and only used app systemizer, to install Cerberus app (anti-theft), which I installed under /system/priov-app. After like 3h of use, I got the same issue.

Has anyone had the same issue? and if not, any ideas to why I got that? or how to fix it? - I had to go back now to latest OOS11. =(

Thanks

Excellent performance on OP8T with magisk just one weird issue,
with camera access toggle disabled all apps can still access the camera, it shows a pop up to unlock, if you press cancel live preview is still present, on OOS cam and Snapchat, this proves my privacy concern of this A12 feature lol

I went through this yesterday evening and hit many snags and confusions due to looking up different posts... So I thought I'd write down my process in the hope it helps others.

    Before you begin
    • Backup of all Data, Fully charged battery, really backup all your data
    • Know how to use Windows command prompt, move files and folders about in explorer (or know how to set the PATH variable)
    • Follow this guide at your own risk!

    Downloads

    Set-up
    1. Install ADB + QualCom drivers. Reboot is required
    2. To check, connect phone to PC, reboot phone to fastboot, check device manager for anything with a yellow "!". Then repeat when in recovery. If you have issues here Fix this BEFORE continuing

    On PC
    1. Extract Nameless ROM zip
    2. Extract payload extractor zip
    3. copy payload.bin from ROM to payload_input folder where you extracted payload dumper
    4. Command prompt -> run payload_dumper.exe (takes about 5 minutes)
    5. In the payload_output folder will be .img files. You'll need these later

Roll phone back to Android 11 with MSM tool
    1. Follow msm guide: https://www.getdroidtips.com/oneplus-msm-download-tool/. Took 900s to complete
    2. Complete first boot setup sequence, don't restore any data, skip as must as you can. Don't perform system udpate. Stop apps updating.
    3. Install Oxygen Updater -> Download KB2003_11_C.21 (Android 12) ~3.88Gb
    4. Whilst that's happening: Enable Developer Mode, Enable OEM Unlocking, Enable USB Debugging
    5. Once download complete, copy the update .zip file from root of phone to your PC
    Unlock bootloader
    1. In command window: adb reboot fastboot
    2. In command window: fastboot reboot bootloader (as soon as you press enter to run the command type and run the next one so it's waiting)
      • fastboot oem unlock
    3. Accept the text menu and phone will reboot and wipes itself
    Update phone to Android 12
    1. Clear setup asap, bypass / skip / ignore all you can
    2. Copy downloaded oxygen update from PC to root of phone
    3. Local install using Oxygen download file (ignore the system update) + reboot
    4. Enable USB Debugging
    5. In command window: adb devices -> ensure you're authorised
    6. In command windows: adb reboot fastboot
    On PC
    1. In command window: open the payload_output folder (with the extracted .img files from earlier):
      • fastboot flash boot boot.img
      • fastboot flash --disable-verity --disable-verification vbmeta vbmeta.img
      • fastboot flash --disable-verity --disable-verification vbmeta_system vbmeta_system.img
      • fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
    2. Use fastboot menus to reboot to recovery (new blue one)
    3. Press "Install update" -> "ADB Sideload"
    4. In command window: adb devices - ensure it says "sideload" and not "unauthorised"
    5. In command window: adb sideload copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip
    6. Reboot recovery from menus on phone
    7. In command window: adb devices - ensure it says "sideload" and not unauthorised
    8. In command window: adb sideload Nameless-AOSP_kebab-12.1-20220723-1310-Official.zip
    9. Click back arrow in recovery, then click "Factory reset" -> "Format data/factory reset" -> "Format data"
    10. Click back arrow in recovery, then click "Reboot to system"
If you miss a step and boot the phone it's likely not going to be stuffed. In this case, force it back to EDL mode (adb reboot edl) or hold the up + down volume buttons for ~40s and start with the MSM tool again.

I've been reading through some pages on this thread and I see people are having issues with this ROM, I understand that's because old nameless builds were based off OOS11 and now it's based off OOS12? Therefore, if you're freshly installing this, then there's no issues to worry about?

I ask because I am currently on Pixelexperience and that's been abandoned, I am not sure wherever to go on this ROM (which seems like it gets constantly updated) or just wait for LineageOS to come out for 8T.

So if I was to go on this ROM, I'd have to flash OOS12, then flash Nameless?
That's right. This worked for me (there may be other ways to do it):

Make sure your adb and fastboot are up to date. Many problems are caused by outdated tools.

First flash OOS11 with the MSM tool if needed, then do a local upgrade to OOS12. I found the OOS12 ROM here:

Then flash Nameless following the instructions here (but read the note below!):

Note: just before doing the adb sideload, sideload the copy-partitions.zip found here:

It will copy the current partitions from the active slot to the inactive slot.

Don't worry about the 47% in the instructions -- just sideload the Nameless ROM and wait for it to finish, then Format data/factory reset > Format data and reboot.

I had this same problem, but I was able to get it to work. The trick is getting it to stay off long enough to use the vol up + vol down combination to enter edl mode. I pressed start on the msm tool, then fooled around with it for awhile, using the vol up + power to shut it down and then immediately using the combination to enter edl mode, and eventually it was detected by msm. It's just really finicky
    Thank you!
Had tried holding down power to ensure it was off several times and either Vol up or Vol down with power did nothing and it continued to boot loop.
However thanks to you holding Vol up + Vol down + power got me into fastboot weirdly
I used fastboot set_active other (Thanks YehoshuaLee)
    Phone booted into system.

Was seconds away from buying a Pixel 6, had already sent an email about getting an RMA to the retailer I bought the 8T from.
    2
This is simply the way to go!
The best ROM for the OP8T! Thanks @chandu dyavanapelli for your great work! Please keep it up!

How have you managed to install them rom? What did you do with the slots a/b?
    Here's what I did:

Download MSM tool to convert to EU Android 11
    MSM Tool

Enable Developer options and enable OEM unlocking.
    Enable USB Debugging
    Adb reboot bootloader

Unlock bootloader with fastboot oem unlock

Use oxygen updater to download the stable (full) update for oneplus8t (EU)
    Oxygen Updater

Do a local upgrade to Android 12 with the downloaded update from oxygen updater

Then follow the original instructions but remember to sideload the copy partitions file before the Nameless rom (see post #704)

Make sure you download the correct Nameless AOSP Rom. When you click the download link in the main post, the big green download button is not the newest version.
    You want this one.

    That worked for me
