Thank you. So I don't have to do anything prior to upgrading, then I sideload magisk, right?
And it's not possible to update without a computer nearby?

Any special concerns if coming from an Android 11 version of OxygenOS?

Let me clarify.

I've managed to brick my phone once already upgrading and trying to root the latest Android 12 OOS OTA update. Have found that there's apparently no known method to root that ROM. I simply MUST have root, so my plan is this:

MSM back to OOS 11.0.7.9, unlock the bootloader, then immediately flash latest version of NamelessAOSP according to the simple instructions in the first post, then root with magisk as shown in first post, and abandon OOS once and for all.

I'm doing this from OOS 11.0.7.9 because fastboot doesn't seem to want to boot non-stock recoveries or boot images (which is probably why I got bricked), even with the bootloader unlocked with the latest OOS / Android 12 update.

So my question is will I need to worry about anything when flashing this from OOS 11.0.7.9, or will just flashing the ROM using the provided recovery handle everything automagically? I've been burned too many times to not ask beforehand...

Absolutely love the ROM. Been using it as a daily driver for almost a month now. Don't mean to be demanding to ask but is there any way to make the battery widget work? I have my oneplus buds pro and i would really to see their battery on my home screen like apple. Or if anyone knows alternatives. Thanks a lot.

3 very minor gripes:

1. The VoWifi and VoLTE icons don't appear very often and don't stay around on the notification bar. WiFi calling is still active, but no icon. I've set it to show, but it still doesn't. Weird.

2. I wish the "clear all" button could be configured to show under the window list instead of having to scroll all the way to the left to find it in the recents interface.

3. I wish the "dark mode" could be set to be fully black for AMOLED displays. It's nice, but not black enough.

Otherwise, this is great! Super easy to get up and running. This'll be my daily driver for a long time.

Hi I have a problem.
I was on the 14 may build of this rom got an ota update for the 22 may build.
Did an ota update phone crashed and would only boot to fastboot.
I MSMed to oos and again unlocked bootloader and flashed nameless recovery and then sideloaded the 22 may build again the phone refused to boot to system and would only boot to fastboot again.
I tried installing evox just to check and it works perfectly.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Also evox provides an installer which patches the boit.img and can fastboot install.
Does tbis rom also have it if so can someone please provide a link?
Also thanks to the developer for this awesome rom
Thanks in advance for the help

The screen off gestures don't work (14 may build) unless the screen is totally off. If there is AOD on, fingerprint icon lit, the ">" "<" etc... gestures don't work. Is this a normal behaviour ?

One other question not covered in OP and not found in the rather klunky "search this thread" results:

Is it ok to use the latest 8t TWRP recovery with this build, both for flashing updates and backup/restore purposes?

Also, feature request if it doesn't already exist: is there a power-button menu / advanced reboot option anywhere that would allow for easy reboot-to-recovery/fastboot without having to adb reboot recovery or power off, power-on with the volume button held?

Thanks.

1. VoLTE and VoWifi icons works fine. Try reinstall.
2. Clear all button show under the windows list with lawnchair (includes in this rom).
3. You can force full black theme with "monet settings" under the settings->display menu

How would one calibrate the battery?
[Calibrate Battery]
1. Use your phone untill it turn off completely to 0%.
2. Plug your charger and charge your phone without interruptions (Do not turn on)
3. Once the device reached 100%, turn it on and wait for 10 minutes before unplugging your charger.
4. After 10 minutes, remove your charger.
5. Use it completely by 100% ~ 20% vice versa.

Note: Do calibration after flashing Custom ROMs and every 1 month. Enjoy.

Did you have to do anything to enable that? Because on mine, I only see the "restart" option, and then it goes straight into reboot. I can usually find an "advanced reboot" option somewhere like developer options, but I don't see it. I am on the May 22 build if that helps.

1. Strange. I just discovered that if I power off the phone and reboot, VoWiFi (and VoLTE) shows up. However, if I restart the phone without a power cycle, both are gone until I power down again.

2. Ok, so it's a launcher thing. I'm on Nova, and it used to have the option to move the clear-all button. Not sure why it vanished, but I will experiment.

3. Got it, thanks! :)

I use Nova too, but if you select lawnchair as default launcher in rom settings (settings/applications/default launcher), it works.

What's the QS tile "immersive gesture bar"?
Also, anyone has an answer to the gestures not working with AOD on?

I found that setting and switched it to Lawnchair, then did a full power-cycle reboot to make sure everything got restarted, etc. But, I still have the clear-all button on the far left, and cannot find the setting to put it to the bottom.

// ... wait some time while I experiment some more ...

AHA! I have it now. Must enable it in launchair settings first. Weird thing is that now there's a "clear all" button in BOTH places. Weird, but I can live with that. Thank you so much.

I went through this yesterday evening and hit many snags and confusions due to looking up different posts... So I thought I'd write down my process in the hope it helps others.

    Before you begin
    • Backup of all Data, Fully charged battery, really backup all your data
    • Know how to use Windows command prompt, move files and folders about in explorer (or know how to set the PATH variable)
    • Follow this guide at your own risk!

    Downloads

    Set-up
    1. Install ADB + QualCom drivers. Reboot is required
    2. To check, connect phone to PC, reboot phone to fastboot, check device manager for anything with a yellow "!". Then repeat when in recovery. If you have issues here Fix this BEFORE continuing

    On PC
    1. Extract Nameless ROM zip
    2. Extract payload extractor zip
    3. copy payload.bin from ROM to payload_input folder where you extracted payload dumper
    4. Command prompt -> run payload_dumper.exe (takes about 5 minutes)
    5. In the payload_output folder will be .img files. You'll need these later

Roll phone back to Android 11 with MSM tool
    1. Follow msm guide: https://www.getdroidtips.com/oneplus-msm-download-tool/. Took 900s to complete
    2. Complete first boot setup sequence, don't restore any data, skip as must as you can. Don't perform system udpate. Stop apps updating.
    3. Install Oxygen Updater -> Download KB2003_11_C.21 (Android 12) ~3.88Gb
    4. Whilst that's happening: Enable Developer Mode, Enable OEM Unlocking, Enable USB Debugging
    5. Once download complete, copy the update .zip file from root of phone to your PC
    Unlock bootloader
    1. In command window: adb reboot fastboot
    2. In command window: fastboot reboot bootloader (as soon as you press enter to run the command type and run the next one so it's waiting)
      • fastboot oem unlock
    3. Accept the text menu and phone will reboot and wipes itself
    Update phone to Android 12
    1. Clear setup asap, bypass / skip / ignore all you can
    2. Copy downloaded oxygen update from PC to root of phone
    3. Local install using Oxygen download file (ignore the system update) + reboot
    4. Enable USB Debugging
    5. In command window: adb devices -> ensure you're authorised
    6. In command windows: adb reboot fastboot
    On PC
    1. In command window: open the payload_output folder (with the extracted .img files from earlier):
      • fastboot flash boot boot.img
      • fastboot flash --disable-verity --disable-verification vbmeta vbmeta.img
      • fastboot flash --disable-verity --disable-verification vbmeta_system vbmeta_system.img
      • fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
    2. Use fastboot menus to reboot to recovery (new blue one)
    3. Press "Install update" -> "ADB Sideload"
    4. In command window: adb devices - ensure it says "sideload" and not "unauthorised"
    5. In command window: adb sideload copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip
    6. Reboot recovery from menus on phone
    7. In command window: adb devices - ensure it says "sideload" and not unauthorised
    8. In command window: adb sideload Nameless-AOSP_kebab-12.1-20220723-1310-Official.zip
    9. Click back arrow in recovery, then click "Factory reset" -> "Format data/factory reset" -> "Format data"
    10. Click back arrow in recovery, then click "Reboot to system"
If you miss a step and boot the phone it's likely not going to be stuffed. In this case, force it back to EDL mode (adb reboot edl) or hold the up + down volume buttons for ~40s and start with the MSM tool again.
