Unfortunately, my banking app not working. I use this rom for 2 days and I like it very much. Is very smooth and snappy. The feeling is that it is a stable version, not a beta version. Everything works. Only bug i found is the charging battery indicator. It doesn't show that the phone is charging but if you use a battery app you see it charges fast and, of course, you can see the percentage. Speaking of battery, autonomy is much better than stock miui.
Please try Magisk Canary and Zygisk...

I have been using this ROM for 2 weeks and this is my feedback:

BUGS:

  • Battery drain when the phone is locked is the biggest issue for me, I woke up losing 40% of battery. So something isn´t right.
  • POCO F3 has power button lower than pixel, so the lock and ulock animation is wrong
  • I am missing an option to unlock the phone with fingerprint, only when I press the button. The fingerprint sensor is too fast and when I´m putting my phone into the pocket I end up unlocking the phone. And we already know that this phone has absolutely ****tiest proximity sensor. I just can´t use my phone like that, I had to remove the fingerprint from my phone, which is also annoying because some of my apps use fingerprint sensor.
  • It is almost impossible to unlock the phone with PIN/gesture when I have many notification, I just can´t swipe up
  • Difficult to turn on/off mobile data from notification slider
  • When I change wallpaper, some widgets and apps don´t change the color right away. Some widgets don´t change at all
Overall feeling
  • The phone is smoother than on any MIUI ROM ever. The animations don´t lag, everything is 120Hz and so smooth. I don´t want to use MIUI in near future. I just hope that those bugs will be removed. The biggest issue is the battery drain and fingerprint unlock feature. Personally I would wait for battery drain fix, before installing this ROM.
Questions
  • How can I overcome my unlocking issue? I just have to use gesture like I have cheap android phone from 2014. Possibly face unlock? I am missing face unlock on google smart lock ( I don´t care about that 2D scan is not safe)
  • How do I update to the latest ROM when it comes out?

What do you mean anti roll back is triggered? Isn't it only for MIUI roms? Are you saying that we can't go back to stock MIUI from Android 12 roms?

I got the anti-rollback warning, but once I put the firmware in C drive, it flashed the firmware without any problems. That's why I said it was weird that the firmware had to be in C drive, but well, weird bugs happen

All the android 12 roms seem to be doing that the battery drain is about 40 percent on cherish also. It's because they need Xiaomi to release the android 12 files like kernel source to make real changes. I fear that soon we won't be able to flash roms after manufacturer stops putting out software updates. I came here looking for 12 without battery issues.

Does the rom make your device pixel 6? Because that would unlock a bunch of features instead of pixel 5 or whatever. I want the live translate and the Gboard features also eventually. So everyone knows twrp 3.6.0 nebrassy is out but honestly I don't understand why restore doesn't show anything unless he removed it because you can't.

Sorry for posting again this is super important I've asked like 5 people today on telegram. I'm not a adb user for the most part just to unlock bootloader. Does side loading a zip directly install zip or does it just move it to your device can you flash it from recovery? I'm sure all of you know the answer to this.

Yes, side loading installs the zip.
I'm not rooted so I can't answer about recording.

With a name like side loading I figured it just moved it to the phone after wiping data and you had to flash with recovery. I don't understand why people flash custom roms without root. Root is the best granted not as good as it use to be though. Viper4android is my favorite thing about root

Thank you I appreciate it. I get tired of people on XDA just ignore everybody because they think it makes them more like a developer cuz the developers ignore everybody. I have spent so much time helping people root their device along with other stuff. Yes it's it's after repeat yourself every day but you don't have to you can make a word file or text file with the instructions and save it and copy and paste it like I did.

Ya, I get you.
Previously I used root only for ad blocking.
These days I just use DNS over TLS.
Way back when I guess I found root was pretty much a nessesity to add features.
I'm very happy these days with the ROMs, I think the quality is pretty awesome.

Good luck with the ROM, hope you enjoy it.

I would be happy to find any working ASOP rom which doesnt end up with this goddam thing waking itself in my pocket constantly.. Not even picky, just a working ROM and staying in sleep when its carried.

Not much to ask.

Is it really unlocking in the pocket? It would make sense for me, because I thought I was going crazy by constantly putting phone in the pocket turned on.

Unlocking may be technically incorrect... Screen waking up and then on the lock screen registering screen preses forever.

It has unlocked but I suspect that was me putting it in the pocket and brushing the thumb unlock (the combo of no proximity and this style of finger reader is a huge miss calc imo)..

Turned off face unlock.. Turned off all tap to wake.. Turned off (the very features you buy the phone for) but with PE rom I am using if you shake the phone, screen wakes from accelerometer.. So if it registers enough movement for that, it wakes in my pocket and I cant stop it.

There has to be some combo of ROM / firmware / settings / config that can shut off all the wake up apart from fingerprint.. That could probably be liveable.

1- I've noticed the Ambient Always-on display doesnt ever move and stays fixed in place. Doesnt it risk burning pixels in the long run?

2- I've notice the Alioth repo hasnt been updated since the 1st of November... Are we going to get updates in the near future?

Locking the phone issue
I found out reason of self-unlocking issue. When I lock the phone, the screen turns off, but If you keep tapping on the display it unlocks without fingerprint or anything. Also If you turn of the phone and immediately press the power button again, it unlocks. I litteraly cannot use this rom anymore. I accidentaly did so many things when my phone was in the pocket. Is it some kind of a featere or what? Now I have to lock the phone by holding the powerbutton and pressing LockDown button, before I put my phone into the pocket. This is the worst bug to phone like this - I can´t use fingerprint, no proximity sensor, now this bug.

Edit: I had turned on the double tap to wake. but the phone is still unlocked like 10 seconds after turning it off.

I had no issues with Lock or unlock, i don't use AOD. Also my battery is not drainning on idle like others reported here. I did a Clean install from MIUI 2.5.6 .

This is totally unacceptable @rounak1619 ! You have logged in few days ago and haven't responded to any of the issues that these users are giving to you. Hard bricking to EDL is by far the worst thing. I don't know what you did with the sources, but the least you could do is remove the links and close the thread.

For all the users out there, please check the sources before downloading a ROM. Make sure they are trustworthy for your device.

Just wondering, can you tell me the exact same steps to reproduce the error ?
And what do you mean by "update" ?
Sometimes the window pop up, that your pixel has been updated, and it gives you option to restart. If you click on it, you´re done. Also notifications were showing, but it didn´t do anything when I clicked on it. I think the update doesn´t exist, maybe the phone thinks it´s Pixel 5
    2
my device got bricked and I had to pay $25 to flash on edl mode. I love this ROM though. I'm thinking of reinstalling it but not to mess with update notifications.
I had the update notification about 5 times, I remember I just clicked cancel or ignore may be twice. I didn't accept the update notification because I always wait to see the feedback before installing it. only with a simple restart, my phone bricked. don't install it
    2
My phone also hard bricked with a simple restart, I never even clicked the update notification. The MOD EDIT: Content Removed guy on telegram fixed it, so props to him and his solid service.

I can never recommend this ROM due to this experience, honestly bugs like this are why custom ROMs have such negative connotations in more mainstream parts of the internet. If this hard brick glitch had happened while I was travelling or when I was in an emergency.... In any case I've reflashed Xiaomi.eu ROM and if I want a pixel experience I'll just buy myself a pixel lol. I'm not risking this again.
