Thank you for all your work.

I reverted to stock because the BT issue but I cannot stand it. There's no flashlight gesture and the clock is on the wrong side. It also runs a lot hotter for some reason. I have to go back.

Do you know specifically which build includes the fixes for BT audio? Wiping and reinstalling is such a long process, too many apps to sign into
The latest.

Is there any interest in getting display out working on lineageos? From what I understand, Google disabled it in the kernel, while the hardware supports it. I believe this was also the case with the Pixel 4.

@aleasto , I can appreciate what a pain it must be for all of these support issues about updating, how to install magisk, will it survive an update, ... That said, I just tried my first update, and I meekly suggest that there be some brief instructions in Post #1 focused on updating between builds.

As best as I can understand (and has been a moving target in the past 7-8 pages of posts), if you have a good installation of google apps and magisk, you can simply update your build by Settings->System->Updater, and follow instructions from there.

Magisk (with root) and gapps should survive.

bt is fixed with the latest build, thanks @aleasto
Sadly, not for me. I just did a fresh install on my Pixel 5, formatting data, then installing the latest nightly (weekly) recovery and builds (from 02 June 2021). I also installed MindtheGap Gapps. Rebooted, did not log in to my Google Account, skipping through all the first-time configuration. I then let the phone sit for 7-8 min. Then I paired with one of my SBC-only speakers, one which I have been able to play SBC-HD before.

I then disconnected my redfin from the bluetooth speaker, grabbed an older Samsung Note 8 with Lineage 16.0 on it, connected that to the same bluetooth speaker, and was able to play both SBC and SBC-HD (so I don't think the BT speaker is the issue.

Please tell me how to capture the needed logs. I can then repeat my pairing and trying to play and grab the logs as you instruct.

Thank you for the bluetooth fix, however, whatever yall did also somewhat broke audio mods. Viper and Dolby cause a significant increase in boot time, and with certain music players installed after restarting they'll crash system ui and their own app. It's weird the problems that this is causing, I had no such problems beforehand. The problems are not consistent except the long boot times.

This could be just an android 11 update, but I doubt it. I'm not too worried about it, I'm just glad I figured out what the problem is. Thanks again for the BT fix!

SBC Dual Channel requires that you disable a2dp hardware offload, for currently unknown reasons

Hi. I'm unable to use Google Maps with microG. Maps crashes immediately upon launch. I've troubleshooted the problem for hours to no avai. Is there anything I can do to make it work? It's the only Google app I can't live without. Thanks for any suggestions.

Edit: turning off wifi and data allowed the app to launch. Then logging out of the google account on Maps allows it to work.

@Michu_z, I just updated to the latest Linage+MicroG version (July 4th) and I have the exact same issues as you - no wifi and constantly resetting cellular connection😞

    > I just installed newest LineageOS (7th July 2021) without GAPPS, no wipe - Just recovery mode installation on existing LineageOS for microG (4th July 2021)

Can you please explain this in more detail or point me towards instructions on how to do this? 🙏 And also, do you know what the implications for future OTA updates from this action are? Would I be able to install future OTA updates and would they be from stock LineageOS or from MicroG?
Without ever rebooting into android, do the following:
In recovery, sideload the latest official LineageOS (no microg).
Then navigate to Advanced > Reboot to recovery
Sideload again the latest official LineageOS (no microg).
    Then reboot to recovery again.
    Now sideload your microg rom.

You can now reboot to android.

I searched for boot.img in this topic, but i didn't find an answer: is flashing boot.img necessary when going from stock ROM to official LineageOS? It's archived on sourceforge and the official LOS wiki installation instructions for redfin don't mention boot.img at all.

edit: was/is boot.img the recovery? The command to flash it is the same.

    edit 2: it works. (y)
Yes this device uses a unified boot/recovery partition.
    Corrected the first post, thanks.

I'm thinking of getting the Pixel 5. Could anyone confirm if GCam mods work on this ROM with the GCam Services Framework apk by lukaspieper? That works fine on Oneplus devices, is Pixel any different? I would preferably not install GApps or MicroG, as i value the pure and easy experience Lineage provides.

Also, while i fully realize the nature of custom ROM development and the "no promises, no obligations" approach to development, i still want to ask if @aleasto is planning to maintain this for a while? I'm asking because i'm bummed i spent 500€ on the Nord half a year ago and it will soon be dropped because the maintainer is busy with other projects. It has a crippling audio bug which makes video recordings almost entirely worthless and that's why i need a new phone.

But that's how this works, and it's always a risk a project is abandoned. Thanks for your work!
    you're usually safe with pixels

You probably broke the LineageOS Updater
i have updated today without any issues - night sight is working

I tried to install update via adb, remove Magisk modules, install Cleanslate kernel, nothing helped me. I have hosts file from Energized Protection to block ads. Maybe this causes problem. Can anybody share stock?
My problem is that Android OS keep awake device and i don't know why. Thanks.
I'm running the same build 20210714 with MindTheGapps and battery life for me has been great. I wouldn't class myself a power user so there's no heavy use and leaving it idle from 100% over 6 hours and I'm still in the 90% range

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. LineageOS does still include various proprietary hardware-specific code.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Informations :
    • This ROM uses source built kernel, kernel modules, boot kernel modules (vendor_boot) and vendor image.
    • This ROM bundles the latest firmware so you don't have to worry about updating firmware beforehand.
    • To use the eSIM you need to install GApps
    Instructions :
    • Download the latest recovery image and rom zip
    • Boot to bootloader
    • fastboot flash boot lineage-recovery.img
    • Boot to recovery
    • Format data
    • Sideload LineageOS zip
    • Optionally flash any addons:
      • Advanced > Reboot to recovery
      • Sideload the addons
    • Reboot
See https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/redfin/install for more detailed instructions

    Downloads :
    Reporting Bugs
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/* (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.

    Known Issues
    • Stock Google Camera app crashes in Night Mode or Astrophotography. As a workaround, downgrade to version 8.2.300 or use a modded gcam APK.

We've also managed to remove the need for flashing vendor_boot.img so now the install instructions are back in line with other pixels.

    New build out
Enable Adaptive Sound, Live Captions, Now Playing, Screen Attention pixel features.
These all work without gapps, and all process data offline.

    New build out
    • Feb 2021 security patch
    • Update modem firmware from the T-Mobile factory images to enable 5G Standalone.
Google only did this for T-Mobile images (RQ1C.210205.006), but it doesn't seem to negatively affect non T-Mobile users, thus I'm including it in the generic build (RQ1A.210205.004 based).
