Hello, I can not flash the ROM. I can simply not drag and drop the ROM zip within the shell window. And when I try fastbot update "statix_sake..." command I have an error message "archive does not contain android-info.txt". I even flashed the vendor boot and boot img and tried again, same result. Can anyone help me ? I'm on windows 11 btw.

Download required files
Download OTA package
Download vendor boot image
Download recovery

This is the process that I followed

-> reboot into fastboot
->
Code:
fastboot flash vendor_boot <vendor_boot image filename>.img
->
Code:
fastboot flash boot <recovery image filename>.img
-> manually enter into recovery mode from bootloader
-> format data
-> apply update
->
Code:
adb sideload <OTA package name>.zip
(this might fail at 47% with signature verification error. continue anyways)
after 2/2 steps are complete restart the device

New update! A pretty major one.

Before prefacing the change log, note some of the changes I have made to the flashing procedure:
- If you're coming from stock, you can now flash the recoveryimage from here using:
fastboot flash boot recovery-sake-20220601-OFFICIAL.img This is possible cause I have inlined all of the kernel modules so everything you need to boot our recovery is now included in the kernel image itself.
After which, you can download the normal OTA version of the build (not the fastbootimage) and use adb sideload

Now, coming to the hefty change log:
- Update blobs from 31.1010.0410.72
- Upstream kernel to 5.4.195
- Merge CAF kernel tag LA.UM.9.14.r1-19400-LAHAINA.QSSI13.0
- Update GPU blobs from LA.UM.9.14.r1-19200.02-LAHAINA.QSSI12.0
- Improve UDFPS by putting it's overlay on the top of everything so that other UI elements are not affected by the HBM blast.
- Include ASUS Camera (note that Slo-mo doesn't and probably won't ever work)
- Power menu now properly reacts to theme changes
- Switch to Pixel APNs (this should actually now cover a LOT more carriers worldwide)
- Add new dark/light mode wallpaper courtesy of @mvaisakh
- We now ship Bromite which you can read about here: Bromite | Bromite - take back your browser
- Merge a ton of Surfaceflinger optimizations which can help save a lot of power by switching display to 60Hz whenever needed.
- Fix a lot of UI bugs (too many to list really :p)
- Merge fixes for Launcher NPEs

The update should now be available for download through our in ROM OTA app! Check for updates and you can then update to the latest version! Enjoy:)
One missing thing --> there is no audio cue for Bluetooth headsets that there is an incoming call

Thanks a lot, no matter what the phone wouldn't boot into the recovery, it ended up showing "your phone is corrupt and won't boot" message, so I flashed stock firmware again, I'll update it to the latest .72 update and will try the process from scratch as you mentioned.

yes I did install them both. Then after failing to sideload Statix I flashed the vendor_boot and recovery provided by Lineage on their page and successfully sideloaded Lineage 19. Before that I tried to sideload statix from their recovery too, just to try and see what happens, same error message.
when side loading you drag n drop the package right?

Hello, I'm still stuck with the same problem. Instructions from 1st post don't work (file has no android-info-text) and adb sideload doesn't work either, and I can not drag and drop the file into the terminal window. Any help from anyone or the dev would be nice. thanks again

Have you tried to sideload it using Lineage Recovery?

Yes that's the one I'm using, I downloaded it several times from this link to make sure that the file was not corrupt or incomplete. Still getting the same errors. I was on stock Android 12 firmware, latest build (31.1010.0410.72).
try to rename the rom zip into "statix.zip"
and then open cmd in that folder and type "adb sideload statix.zip".
I'm curious if it's an issue due to long file name

Already did, I tried everything that could came to mind before asking for help here. I really don't see what's going wrong here.
I had the same problem and I handled it like this
fastboot flash vendor_boot <vendor_boot image filename> .img
fastboot flash boot <boot image filename> .img
fastboot reboot recovery
data format
apply update
adb sideload <OTA package name> .zip
and it worked.

Been using this ROM for a while now and I gotta say, this is by far one of the best custom ROMs I've used. Fluid, fast, looks fantastic, and has great battery life.

My only gripe is flashing Magisk.zip from recovery does not work. I have to extract the current boot image, patch it via the magisk app on my device, and then flash the patched image via my PC. It's kind of a pain after every OTA to do this process just to keep root privileges.

Also on the topic of the online updater, I've noticed that after installing an update the OTA updater will still show and allow the download and installation the current build.

Aside from this, I will continue to run this as my daily driver (just will have to hold off OTA updates until I'm at my PC to keep root).

Thanks again for maintaining this ROM!

What i do for every OTA update, download update from updater, after finish install OTA, don't reboot yet, from the magisk app, install to Inactive Slot. Then reboot. Profit.

Interesting thing I found yesterday, Call Screening a "Pixel exclusive feature" actually works on my sake running StatiX lol. Do note that I am in the US where Call Screening is officially available, so if you don't have it, you probably aren't in a supported region.

Thank you for the tips, i've tried it today and it works

StatiXOS for ASUS ZenFone 8 (sake)

    What is StatiXOS?

StatiXOS is a custom ROM based on the Android Open Source Project aiming to be minimal while providing quality of life improvements and up to date security patches.

    You tell me!

    Flashing the fastbootimage
    1. Download the fastbootimage from our download link above
    2. Reboot your ZenFone 8 to bootloader and plug it in to your computer
    3. Now open up your Terminal (macOS and Linux) or Command Prompt (Windows)
    4. Type in fastboot reboot fastboot

    5. Now locate the downloaded ROM zip and drag it into the shell window you opened in step 3 after typing fastboot update.
    5. From here on, it will be automated. Once the device reboots, you're good to go!

    Flashing an OTA package
    1. Download the ROM which should be in the root of the sake folder.
    2. Navigate to boot images within the sake folder and download the two images boot.img and vendor_boot.img.
    3. Reboot your device to its bootloader mode, open up a terminal window and flash boot and vendor_boot using fastboot flash.
    4. Once done, type in fastboot reboot recovery.
    5. once you boot to recovery, tap on “Apply from ADB”
    6. Now on your PC, type in adb sideload and drag the zip you downloaded in Step 1.
    7. Wait for it to complete flashing. Once done, wipe data/cache (don’t if you’re dirty flashing)
    8. Done!

    Prerequisite firmware: 31.1010.0410.72
    Android version: 12.1.0
    Linux Kernel Version: 5.4.180

    Code Review: Gerrit

Fine tuning some stuff right now. Things are coming along nicely so far.

Hint: Check for that lock screen weather
    8
    And there we go.

    Jan builds are here!

    Device changelog:
    - Rebase device-specific sources for official Android 12 source drop: we now run the latest stock blobs and kernel.
    - Silence a whole lot of DEBUG driver spam and stop use of TRACE_PRINTK.
    - Use UDFPS instead of Lineage's FOD implementation with a slight caveat and, in my opinion, a big quirk: High brightness mode doesn't exactly work. So, you have to make sure the screen brightness is set to more than 40% at least to use UDFPS properly. However, since HBM doesn't work, there is absolutely zero flicker.
    - This build has SELinux enforced. Expect OEM-like signed -user builds once we roll out OFFICIALs.

Note: You must be on 31.1004.0404.81 to flash and use this.

    Source changelog:
    - Our new color scheme (notice the quick settings)
    - Tons of under the hood optimization
    - Use our new GMS
    - Bring back system wide icon packs! (Remember them in ThemePicker on Android 11?)
    - Implement a ton of Pixel specific stuff as modular overrides to AOSP

    Enjoy! :)

    New update!

    - Night Light, Extra Dim now work!
    - Screen colors should be a LOT pleasing to the eye now.
    - Headphone jack now works.
    - Check Settings -> Gestures for some new stuff
    - Added battery styles.
    - You will now pass safetynet and be play store certified :)
    - People moving from stock should have a better time flashing this now.
    - Still working on improving haptics and UDFPS. Will take time so patience requested.

    New update:

    - Update Adreno drivers (anything that uses 3D acceleration should actually see some improvement)
    - Haptics now work like they do on stock. Nice and tight.
