This is my findings after few hours with dot os.
Not working
- Root; failed to flash both magisk and supersu.
- Camera
- Torch; can not switch on torch from QS
- double tap to wake

Bugs?
- after each boot got message "There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details". Never got such message in other rom.
- after reboot, data connection always off
- accent color in QS; if enable sort of accent color tracking in QS, the QS icon color turned to invisible after switching on/off

Working functions that really important for me:
+ Both sim card working
+ VoLTE

I didn't check the battery usage, as it was only few hours. I need to revert back to global dev miui as camera quite important for me.

Again magisk-cust
There is no camera how tf you expecting flash to work?
Ignore the on boot warning (not error) for now
Dt2w is also known issue will fix on next build
Accent colors work fine for me from display settings (dot app is still not stable)

There's no such info in the op mention about magisk-cust. Treble is quite new, can not expect everyone know that treble root need such customized magisk.
Not just accent color I'm talking about, but sort of tracking accent color on QS. Per my understanding the QS icon will be colorize based on selected accent when switched on/off. But somehow the icon turns to white.

Magisk is your problem
You should learn to research and find stuff on your own
Nobody is here to spoonfeed you

For me when I change accent qs do change to that accent if they're on and they're white/blqck when off

OP says that bigger gapps is not preferred, this doesn't mean bigger gapps are not at all supported, right? We can use atleast stock gapps with gapps config, please say yes:laugh:, I love the ROM.:D

Help .. a simple question

Question:. if you go into CAST, (settings, display, cast) do you see the three dots menu icon at the top right hand side? It's a menu which lets you enable WIRELESS DISPLAY.
Please show me a screenshot. Can anyone pls confirm whether they have this feature like every other ROM for Redmi note 4

I have redmi.note 5

Sure, after it burned the display of some people. Now those people have a broken phone.

Can you trust for things like that to not happen again? A lot of developers here (a lot of them are kids) love to put some new drivers and "cutting edge" kernels without testing it, just to be cool. This will eventually happen again if this goes on. And what is worse is that these so called "official" roms doesn't have anything that makes them more trustworthy than any other rom. These developers put what they want there without researching and testing first.

The "official" branding just tells you that the maintainer will keep updating, but it doesn't have any indication that the code is safe, verified and consistent between all the releases.

I had a Moto G 2015 for a long time, i lost it at a festival these days. I used the official LineageOS from their homepage all these years without a single problem, because they are a trustable source, the code is transparent and they play it safe.

There is a reason why MIUI and other companies don't update to Oreo so fast. They beta test it for a long time. A lot of things goes wrong if you keep pushing forward. And i'm talking about companies with a lot of people.

Now imagine one kid doing this alone, using "alternative" drivers and kernels. It's a recipe for disaster, which we saw in this thread.

First of all Read First post disclaimer again
Am not responsible for whatever happens to you or your phone it's your choice to install the rom or not and whatever happens to you I frankly don't care because I didn't ask or force you to install anything so stop blaming anyone and take responsibility for your actions
Second of all Xiaomi never updates android version because it's not their main focus but rather MIUI other manufactures take time because they have to add their modifications (which I guess someone with a narrow mind like you won't understand) , Google updated their devices and a lot other vendors already so who tf are you to say it's not stable enough?

What you saw in this thread is people who are just ******* imo they can't even take responsibility for their actions and blame us while no one really asked them to install anything

Also who you calling a kid? mdeejay did the upstream and he's a recognized dev, and for myself am sure I have done things you'll never even dream of junior out there trying to write a speech and be smart and **** this is XDA not Facebook
