Installation Instructions

To avoid issues with enabling/disabling WiFi, you need to be running a suitable modem from Motorola's 5.1 release or newer. Modems for various models can be found in the modems thread by @EB20XY.

Installation is simple and follows the same basic procedure as any other source built custom ROM.
  1. Boot into TWRP
  2. Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik
  3. Flash the ROM, then GApps
  4. Reboot

For GApps, many options may work. I've usually had success with OpenGApps, but I've also tried BaNkS in the past. When upgrading from a previous CM13 build, dirty flashing without any wiping usually works fine.

The main change in this build is that I've updated the camera drivers to those of the Asian Marshmallow release. This camera driver update required changes at the kernel level too. If you want to use my "Squid Kernel", you will need to use the new r15c version (that I'll be releasing shortly).
Would this build work smoothly on Asian Marshmallow drivers
On Stock Marshmallow + drivers
With unlocked bootloader

And it's required to flash r15c kernel build after installing the latest cm13 05/03/2016 build

Pls reply

This rom uses cm-13.0 kernel. If you want some additional kernel features, then flash Squid kernel.
@squid2
I still have problem with feedback vibration strength. It can be changed in Settings/Kernel Adiutor, but its only changes vibration for calls/messages, not UI feedback. For example, when touching navigation bar, vibration is 2x higher than on Lollipop, what is uncomfortable. Do you know any solution for this? In cm13 on Moto G2 vibration is fine.

The UI feedback vibrations are configured within overlays in the device tree. We are currently using the same configuration on all devices. I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out, but yes, the vibration settings being used are heavier than the surnia stock ROM defaults. I personally don't mind the heavy haptic feedback and I always found my aunt's titan's haptic feedback to be too light for my taste. But if a lot of you don't like the current level of haptic feedback, I can make the configuration device specific and match the surnia stock ROM.

Can anyone confirm if this will work for the XT1526 Boost Mobile (Sprint) version of this device?
Thanks.
I am using it now, seems to work just fine. Go grab the mvno slayer flashable zip from the moto e 2015 CDMA development side of this site and flash it after this ROM and everything will be all good for you. :)

Edit: one thing I found with this ROM, never had this problem before ever. I go into adaway, go to my whitelist, click on import, find my whitelist.text and click on it.. Then adaway crashes every time. Do you have any idea why?

Edit, again: I fixed the adaway issue. It was an oversight on my part, I had to press the 3 dot icon inside the import lists window and click on show SD card. The file was on my phone when it wasn't working, but whatever its fixed now lol.

I've now been using this new build nearly 24 hours.
Super slick and very very stable, no issues to report what so ever.

I'm using the new squid kernel r15c but I haven't flashed a newer 5.1 modem/baseband on my UK XT1524, I have never touched the modem/base band its still the original 5.0.2 that it was purchased with, all marshmallow/6.0.1 ROMs I've tried recently have all worked flawlessly, including telephone and WiFi.
Whilst it works so well, I'm leaving modem and baseband well alone (just being super cautious, not deliberately going against the devs instructions)
Super job!

You will get a roboot soon or later if you are still in baseband 5.0.2.
I know because i did the same thing and i though it was rock solid but after 2 days or so i got a reboot while typing a message in whatsapp and another while turnining on the WIFI.

It was all solved after flashing the 5.1 baseband, no problems whatsoever.
